(Dogs must be pre agreed and is an additional £20 per pet, per stay). Garden Cottage is a quaint and tranquil barn conversion, located in the heart of the beautiful Northumberland Countryside. The cottage boasts beautiful views near and far. The cottage has many windows which takes great advantage of the beautiful surroundings, looking on to the peaceful country views, court yard and paddocks. We also have an occasional barn owl.
WE ARE VERY RURAL WITH NO COVID-19 REPORTS IN THE AREA. Due to the low price I do not offer tea and coffee however, I do supply bare essentials and a few additional extras such as: shampoo, conditioner, shower gel, toilet roll, washing liquid as well as towels etc. I don’t supply oil in the kitchen. Garden Cottage offers something for everyone, whether it is a romantic break, business or for walking/cycling. The living, landing area and sleeping areas are very spacious and clean as well as a large garden to relax in on those sunny days. There is a sofa bed in the bedroom upstairs, which will sleep 2 people. Note: the sofa bed is a little smaller than a double bed. A small warning: The bathroom is very small, consisting of a toilet, sink and walk in shower (wet room). There is no bath. The bathroom has a glass door, which has an opaque covering and is to the side of the kitchen. The heating is turned off in the cottage during May - October. The heating will be turned on in circumstances where it is unusually cold. It's important that guests are comfortable at all times. The garden is shared. With the garden to the left belonging to the cottage and the garden on the right (containing the summer house) belonging to the farm house. As a rule and for optimum privacy, it is rare that we use the garden when we have guests, but we may use the double gates to the side of the farm house, from time to time. Whilst I allow children and infants, I don’t have any specific supplies for children and infants. For example; baby gate, changing area, cot, high chair etc
Garden Cottage is situated in the middle of country side, but within easy reach of the A68 for anyone wanting to go on any expeditions by car! There are many public footpaths to take advantage of, as well as the beautiful garden and stunning views at the Cottage itself. There are many places to visit in the surrounding areas so it is advised that guests wanting to explore should spend more than one night at our cottage. Discovering the historical landmarks at Beamish Hexham Hadrians Wall Northumberlandia Derwent walk Derwent reservoir Slaley forest Blanchland medieval village Corbridge A secure store can be provided for anyone who would like to bring a bike however, guests use our storage facilities at their own risk. The owners of Garden Cottage take no responsibility for any losses or damage whilst using our storage facilities. There are also some lovely local pubs, including the Manor House Inn, which is only 2 miles from the Cottage. This can also be accessed on foot. Travelling further afield, the Anchor Inn is also a good quality, local pub. The Manor House Inn is popular so be sure to book in advance if you’re planning to eat at the Manor House Inn. Visiting Wheelbirks ice cream parlour is also a must for some traditional pub grub as well as freshly made, decadent ice cream! The farm is approximately 15 minutes away from Garden Cottage. If you are wanting a spa day to fully relax, you can visit Slaley hall where you can book yourself In to a spa day! They also have golf!

  • Rachael's place is a great way to explore the surrounding area! It's warm and cosy, there's plenty of room, and the little kitchen was well-stocked with pans and utensils, which we found really useful. The surroundings are beautiful, and there's a great local pub within easy walking distance. Communication was super-swift and friendly. Thanks for a great stay!

  • We stayed at the cottage for 2 nights whilst attending a wedding at Derwent Manor and we loved it. It was a lovely quiet location with great views. The house had everything we needed and the kitchen was well stocked. Rachael was a great host, friendly and with excellent communication. We definitely recommend!

    Vicky2020-02-15T00:00:00Z
  • I cannot recommend enough and will certainly return! Rachael was super helpful from the moment we booked, giving us lots of great recommendations of things to do and welcoming us on arrival. The cottage itself is sparkling clean with plenty of space, cosy and in a lovely location. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, particularly relaxing and watching the horses from the window in the evenings - we couldn't have asked for a better trip! Thank you again!

  • Great host, beautiful place close enough to amenities but far enough to enjoy the peace and quiet. Quirky spacious cottage with everything you need. Comfy sofas and bed. A gorgeous spot to watch the sun rise too - the perks of traveling with a toddler! We'll definitely be back and hopefully get to see the horses next time! Xxx

We are 3 miles from the historic village of Corbridge with its great shops, pubs and restaurants, one and a half miles from Hadrian's Wall, 20 minutes from airport and 25 minutes from Newcastle. This is a newly refurbished old stable which is a cosy hideaway in the Tyne Valley. Extensive walks are available on this working farm. It is good for couples, solo adventurers, business travellers, and dogs (sorry, no cats). Sadly owing to recent experiences we now need to charge £5 per dog per night.
  • Amazing apartment, really spacious and cosy. Beautiful location as well!

  • Ailsa's Cottage is a delight and exactly as it is described, a warm, cosy and very welcoming cottage. It has everything you may need plus being perfecty situated to enjoy the stunning Northumbrian countryside and local attractions. My partner, dog and I spent a wonderful couple of nights there, it was not nearly long enough! It is Ailsa's little attentions to detail that set this cottage apart from many, I cannot rate it highly enough.

    Holly2020-01-18T00:00:00Z
  • I really don't have the words to say how beautiful this little cottage is and how much we enjoyed our stay. We spent most of our time walking and exploring around the beautiful areas or sat in front of the fire in the cottage relaxing. Lovely little touches, beautiful views, super clean and cosy and just what we needed for a break away from normal life 😁 We can't wait to come back! Thank you so much for having us and making sure we had everything we needed. Would 100 percent recommend anyone to stay here xx

  • Excellent spacious, warm and cosy accommodation. Easy to get to in a stunning area of the UK. Ailsa a great host. Corbridge is delightful and Roman Museum worth visit, exceptionally well done if you are interested in the history of the region. As is Hadrians wall. If you are National Trust Members go to Housestead to walk the Wall as you can use your Card there.

  • Spotless accommodation, stylish and comfortable. Very thoughtful hosts.

    Trevor2019-09-14T00:00:00Z
  • We would highly recommend Wendy as a host and her home is very homely and welcoming. Very clean and lovely touches with fluffy soft towels and tea facilities in the rooms. All the ingredients for a spot on breakfast. Beds were very comfortable. House had all the facilities required including a hot tub which unfortunately we didn't have time to use, but was all set at 38 degrees ready to use. Very good value for money and would definately go back if we were visiting the area again.

    Caroline2019-09-08T00:00:00Z
  • Wendy and John's house and hospitality are great. We had a brilliant holiday. The rooms are, spotless, lovely and spacious and the added touches like the offer/ability to play games and watch DVDs was also brilliant. We didn't try the hot tub but it was available to use. The kitchen is well equipped and we had space in the fridge for our packed lunch pieces. Wendy and John are both friendly and helpful, giving us ideas of places to visit as well as cups of tea. Thank you. We'd definitely recommend a stay here.

Ensuite bedroom plus private, unique living room space overlooking garden and woodland. Less than 5 minute walk from Stocksfield train station and bus routes between Newcastle and Hexham and around a mile from National Cycle Route 72, Hadrian's Cycleway. Handy base for exploring Roman sites of Corbridge and further west along Hadrian's Wall. Off road parking and secure bike storage available. Guests have their own side door. Access to the Rowan Suite via staircase to the first floor.
The price includes a continental breakfast hamper with granola, croissants, fruit and yogurts. And please note, I don't add on a cleaning charge, so the final price is my nightly price plus the AirBnb Service charge only. The Rowan Suite is the upstairs of a recent extension. It is reached by a separate staircase from that in the main house, so there is an instant feeling of privacy. The staircase opens into a lovely lounge, full of light and with a cosy woodburner for cooler days. The bedroom, with its ensuite shower room, is through a door from the living room. The view, which many guests comment on, is over woodland and gardens, and is very tranquil and green. It gives a timeless sense of being right in the countryside, yet you are only a 5 minute walk from Stocksfield railway station. The living room for guests has a bi-fold door and Juliette balcony , and when fully open the whole room becomes almost an outdoor space. Lovely for lazing in the sun or watching the night sky! The house is also home to a dog and 2 cats. There is a small sofa bed in the living room area which could be used for an additional guests - by prior arrangement only. It functions as a low single bed - or it can be split to create a double floor mattress or 2 single ones. It is in the living room area which does not have curtains so will get light as the day dawns. It is visible in the photos of the room. You must contact me in advance to discuss details if you would like to include additional people and there is an additional charge of £10 per person.
My house is on a very ordinary street - but the interior space is very special. The back overlooks woodland which is tranquil and accessible - and there are local walks through more woods and along a local burn. One of my guests recently uploaded a video of the view from the lounge's Juliette balcony - it's on You Tube as 'Rowan Suite New Ridley'. Nearby, Prudhoe (c 3 miles) has several restaurants and take-aways - Indian, Italian, Chinese and fish and chip and the Wellington pub in Riding Mill (2 miles and accessible by train and bus) serves food. Excitingly, The Blue Bell Inn, Mickley just outside Stocksfield has just re-opened (August 2019) and should be serving food - check facebook for details. Also nearby is the acclaimed Feathers Inn at Hedley on the Hill which has an award-winning menu. Pre-booking is essential there. Local market towns of Corbridge and Hexham both have an excellent selection of pubs, coffee houses and restaurants and plenty of independent shops. Stocksfield makes a good base for days out to explore sections of Hadrian's Wall, The Sill Landscape Centre, Beamish Museum, English Heritage or National Trust properties such as Belsay Hall, Wallington Hall and Gibside - as well as heading into Newcastle. There are a number of local artists and crafts people offering workshops and courses in the area - The Rowan Suite is perfect accommodation while you learn a new skill. The Suite is also ideal if you're attending a wedding or other event in the area. With it's separate staircase, once you have checked in, it doesn't matter how late you arrive back again, you won't need to worry too much about disturbing the household. It's only 4 .5 miles to Healey Barn and 8.5 miles to Vallum Farm - both award winning local wedding venues, so you can always get a taxi and leave your car. I'm happy to consider early check-ins for you to change/leave luggage, car etc if you're attending an afternoon ceremony. Just ask! (And don't overlook proximity to train and bus routes- you don't even need a car to get here)
  • This place was ideal for our purpose and we had a lovely relaxed time staying at Chris's place. She's a lovely host and we really enjoyed our breakfast hamper in the morning.

    Heather2019-12-01T00:00:00Z
  • Chris's place is great! Clean, spacious, comfortable, quiet with a lovely view. The breakfast hamper was a basket of lovely surprises with juice, yogurts, granola, fruit, delicious hot croissants and divine homemade lemon curd. Chris is a wonderful host and when we arrived had lit the wood burning stove in the private living room, which she did again in the morning before breakfast. An excellent spot to explore Northumberland and the Hadrian's Wall area, highly recommended, we will definitely go back.

Riding Hills Farm is a cosy, attractive and well equipped one bedroomed cottage situated in one of the prettiest and most interesting parts of Northumberland. Within two miles of the historic town of Corbridge, this comfortable cottage is tucked away in a rural location with stunning views over the Tyne Valley. Despite its rural setting it is close to some excellent pubs and restaurants, and the market town of Hexham.
The cottage is attached to our farmhouse with a private entrance and enclosed garden, and is situated in just under an acre of grounds with many excellent walks and places to visit nearby. We are close to several key Roman sites in the area including Corstopitum and Hadrian’s Wall. Newcastle is 18 miles away and the stunning Northumberland coastline is only a little further.
Our cottage is situated above the beautiful Tyne Valley, and from your garden there are stunning views to enjoy over an alfresco lunch or evening drink. The enclosed garden is exclusively for the use of our guests and you are free to help yourselves to any garden produce in season including raspberries, blackcurrants and rhubarb. Our nearest village, Corbridge, has a multitude of lovely cafes and interesting shops to explore, not to mention several very good pubs and restaurants, all of which are listed in our cottage guide along with much other useful information.
  • A lovely and cosy cottage with homely finishing touches, including eggs from Debbie and Duncan's chickens and some damson jam on arrival! We were made to feel really welcome and had everything we needed in the house - the bath and shower were amazing! The cottage was also very clean and the location was great. Lots to see and do in the area.

  • Beautiful location with stunning scenery and plenty of walks nearby. The cottage is perfect for relaxing and Debbie is an excellent host, could not recommend this place enough!

    Maryam2019-09-24T00:00:00Z
  • Spacious cottage with great views. Although you can walk into Corbridge, it takes about 30 minutes and there are lengths of the main road that have no pavements, so you need to be wary of traffic. There is a reliable half-hourly bus service into Corbridge and Hexham going west, and into Newcastle going east. Both bus stops are a 5-minute walk from the cottage, on the main road.

    Mac2019-06-08T00:00:00Z
  • This place is truely magical, the bathroom was incredible both the bath and the shower were special features, the kitchen is a very decent size, everything about this place exceeds expectation, both Debbie and Duncan will go above and beyond to offer any help you need. The scenic beauty and the silence and peace is emotionally transforming. I was truely sad to leave and will definatley be back. Thank you Both Debbie and Duncan for being such outstanding hosts. Loved all of the little touches throughout and was more than suitable for our 1 and a 1/2 year old. Thank you and hopefully will be back again one day!

  • We had a wonderful stay at the spacious Boathouse. We were kept entertained by the many things to do in the area, but all looked forward to returning to the Boathouse each afternoon to relax. The beds were so comfortable that our children slept past 7am each day, which is unheard of! Our five-year-old said he wanted to stay 'forever' which is endorsement indeed! We particularly enjoyed watching the birds in the garden and listening to the babbling stream, and the children loved playing with the outdoor games equipment. A tranquil, restorative place.

The boathouse is exquisite with soft comfy beds and spacious bathrooms. Had to cut the trip short due to car trouble, but looking forward to staying again.

Elmhurst is a stylish, two bedroom, stone built, self catering holiday cottage in the village of Ovingham on the north bank of the River Tyne. Recently renovated (August 2019), it sleeps five people comfortably in two bedrooms which can be made up as twin or double facilities. The ground floor has a newly fitted dining kitchen with all necessary amenities and a living room with an inglenook fireplace and wood burning stove. A gravel courtyard area with flower beds to the rear.
The self contained holiday cottage is well suited for couples, families and friends. A well behaved pet is welcome. It features all the amenities required for a comfortable holiday break: from wood burning stove in the living room to an outdoor barbecue in the quiet, enclosed yard to the rear. The area is ideal for walking and cycling. It provides an ideal base for a gentle, relaxed break or a family adventure exploring the history and countryside of the Tyne Valley and Northumberland.
The cottage has a front garden with seating area facing south and is situated a few metres from the graceful churchyard of St Mary the Virgin where the famous illustrator and engraver Thomas Bewick is buried. An 18th century packhorse bridge spans the Whittle Burn which runs into the Tyne a short distance down the road. Located next door to the old Ovingham village post office, Elmhurst was built in the 19th century as the postmistress’s house. To the rear of the cottage is a secluded area with seating area, firepit and barbecue. The property has been newly renovated as a holiday cottage and finished to a high standard.

Well stocked shop, great local pub with great food, lovely local walks and near to train station. You can be in Newcastle in 25 mins, Hadrians Wall is also not too far. The cottage itself was immaculately clean and tidy with lovely period features and everything you needed for a great stay. We would highly recommend a stay at Elmhurst and we would definitely book again if staying in the area.

Our room was spacious, tastefully decorated in the period decor and bright. We were able to chose a convenient time for breakfast, which was delicious and served in another lovely room on the 1st floor. Lynn gave us her time to direct our train ride into Newcastle as well as driving in to revisit a part of the city once lived in years ago. We would love to stay here again, but for longer as the entire surrounding area is beautiful as well. Thank you Lynn.

  • Outstanding place to stay. Long story short, I had a hotel issue and had to find a new place to stay on very short notice. Lynne not only took me in, but was very understanding of my situation. Lynne is a wonderful person and has a beautiful home.

Mole Cottage has 5 bedrooms, including 2 on the ground floor. There are 3 bathrooms plus a cloakroom, with the bathroom on the ground floor including a walk-in shower. There is a large breakfast kitchen with an additional separate dining room. The kitchen has a built in full size fridge and separate full size freezer, a dishwasher and a range cooker. There is also an original working fireplace in the hallway, perfect for chilly nights. There is a large whirlpool bath in the main bathroom as well as a walk-in rainfall shower. The 3rd bathroom features a large bath with shower. The whole property was recently renovated to a very high standard but retains many original features from its original build in 1880. There are lots of walks nearby, by the river, along old wagon ways as well as being close to Hadrians Wall's walks. Within 20 mins drive are Hexham and Corbridge which have several visitor attractions, including Hexham Abbey and Old Gaol. Vindolanda Roman visitors' centre on Hadrians Wall is about 30 mins away as well. Newcastle and Durham are approximately 30 minutes away and feature Cathedrals, Castles, art galleries, shops, restaurants and cinemas. The National Trust site at Gibside is only 20 mins away, with Wallington and Cragside a little further north, along with the stunning Northumberland coast and Holy Island. The closest pub is the Dr Syntax (about 100m away). 150m in the other direction is Stocksfield golf club, which also has a nice bar and does food. In the village just up the hill (less than 1 mile but a steep road without a footpath) is the Feathers Inn (in Hedley on the Hill) which is award winning and does amazingly good food (but is quite a small pub so best to book). There's also the Anchor inn at Whittonstall which is also nice but a couple of miles away. Wheelbirks ice cream parlour is about 1mile as well, does lunchtime food and amazing ice cream and cakes, also has a small inside and outside play area.

We live in a small village in Northumberland, within easy distance of Hadrian’s spectacular wall, picturesque villages and castles galore. Our comfortable, self catering accommodation will provide all you need for a peaceful break within minutes of bus and rail links to Newcastle, Durham and the coast, and with beautiful country walks on our doorstep. Your suite of private rooms on either side of the shared hall include a sitting room, double bedroom, well equipped kitchen/diner and shower room.
Our home is at the top of a quiet cul-de-sac and built on a low hill. The house is on two levels. We live upstairs and, years ago, adapted the downstairs as a "granny flat" for my father. All the guest rooms are on either side of the shared hall on the ground floor and are completely private.
Our village is a quiet, friendly community with a gastro pub 5 minutes walk from our house. There are many lovely walks in the surrounding countryside and along the River Tyne, all accessible from our house. I've produced a map which makes it much easier to find your way out of the village to these walks - always the most difficult part of navigating. There are also Ordinance Survey maps which guests are welcome to borrow.
  • Jono & Eileen are truly super hosts. We enjoyed talking to them and felt very much at home straightaway. There were very useful leaflets, maps, booklets etc on what to do in Northumberland which we used to plan our trips to the surrounding countryside, villages / towns... The village itself is beautiful. The place was absolutely lovely with thoughtful touches to it, which meant we had all we needed plus extras. We’d highly recommend Jono & Eileen’s place and we’d definitely love to come back in the future.

    Yineng2019-09-29T00:00:00Z
  • Excellent

    Christine2019-09-08T00:00:00Z
  • We were attending a wedding at Healy Barn, only 10 minute drive from the Air BnB. Jono was a great host and answered all of my questions regarding travel to/from the wedding. We had the whole bottom floor to ourselves which included a kitchen, shower room, living room and bedroom. Our only regret is that we didn’t have more time to do some of the walking routes which Jono recommended. Hopefully we’ll be back again soon to explore them! Thanks again!

    Gemma2019-07-31T00:00:00Z
  • A great place to stay in the heart of Northumberland with excellent facilities and at great value hosted by a caring couple.

  • Great hosts Quick to be in touch and make you feel very welcome spacious accommodation and well situated

    Sue2019-07-16T00:00:00Z
  • Jono’s place in Riding Mill is a real gem. Not only are Jono and Eileen superb hosts giving a really warm welcome, but they are genuinely nice people. The extra touches in the kitchen with butter, milk ,bread, tea fresh ground coffee ( and ground de-caffe) are really appreciated. All the dishes and utensils in the kitchen were spotless, as was the whole flat. Thinking about the whole experience, the name “Your Own Cosy Rooms” says it all. This was our second stay here and it will not be our last.

    Peter2019-07-08T00:00:00Z
  • The hosts communication was excellent and we were met on arrival with offers of as much or as little advice on local places of interest as we wanted. The flat was spotlessly clean and the kitchen was very well equipped with everything we wanted. It’s set in a very pretty quiet cul de sac, in walking distance of a nice pub. We really felt at home and would recommend Juno’s place to others.

    Janaki2020-02-18T00:00:00Z
  • Very much enjoyed staying at Morag's place, communication was great and prompt! When we first arrived we were greeted by Morag and of course the lovely Trudy (who is the most lovable dog ever!) She was pleasant and playful with our dogs too which immediately put our minds at ease. The little stable itself is comfy, warm and inviting. After a countryside walk I enjoyed a nice hot shower and got ready for our evening out which was just along the road to The Boathouse. I would recommend this gorgeous little retreat to anyone who just wants to get away from it all. We will be back!

  • Jane's home was absolutely fantastic! It's a very cosy spot in a neighbourhood filled with the friendliest people. It's a very spacious home that accommodated 5 guests very well. They have all the amenities we needed - in working condition. The view and maintenance from the backyard was superb. Jane and Tony were readily available to help or offer advise on everything. The house guide provided on check in was very clear and informative. It covered everything from bus routes to local eats around the area. The parking space for guests in the airbnb was suitable for 2 cars, and maybe another if you decide to have guests over for a meal. I would definitely recommend this home. Another big thank you to Jane and Tony for extending their hospitality.

  • This cottage was just perfect. Cosy and lovely decor, really comfy beds and a well arranged space for a family. It rained so we didn’t get to use the garden but it was so pretty. Jane responded to all my messages promptly and even a call from my mother!! This is a great space for a family of five to come for a getaway and explore the local area. Lots to do on the doorstep. Thank you Jane.

  • We've just returned from 3 nights at Jane's property. Communication before we visited was prompt and helpful and Jane sent really detailed and helpful instructions for arrival. Although we arrived quite late, Jane came out to meet us and show us around the house. The house is really lovely. It's so tastefully decorated, cosy and full of character. Jane had left tea, coffee and milk which was really helpful given that we arrived late. The cottage had everything you could need and was spotlessly clean. The street itself had a real community feel, typical of this part of the world and very special. The beds were comfortable and there were plenty of fluffy towels. The cottage is also in a lovely area. A short walk away is a brilliant bakery/patisserie where you can buy amazing bread/cakes or have something to eat. We also ate at an Italian restaurant in Hamsterley Colliery - a short walk in the other direction - and the food was freshly cooked, piping hot and delicious. Everything about this weekend was perfect. We have family in the area and will definitely stay at this property again. It is very special and we would really recommend it. Thank you, Jane, for being so helpful and giving us such a great weekend.

  • What a beautiful escape to the countryside! Lynne is the most amazing host, she was warm and welcoming! Breakfast was lovely with a great selection of fruit, cereals and toast. Very good coffee too! A great base to explore the area with Hexam and Corbridge for shopping really close by. I had two dogs with me so Lynne's utility/boot room came in handy to keep the dogs in there after their morning walk and the walk was literally from the front door. The house is gorgeous and the rooms are big, bright and tastefully decorated. I can't recommend highly enough! Thank you from me, Hugo and Hector (the labradors!)

  • A wonderful place to stay! We were looking for a B&B near Hadrian's Wall to visit all the local sites. Lynne's accommodation is just what we were looking for - and even more than that! Thanks to her kind advice we ended up visiting a couple of beautiful places on the East Coast too! The house is easy to find, clean and warm. We had our own bathroom, there was a lovely continental breakfast and our dog was welcome too. Highly recommended - as is the local Italian restaurant just across the road.

Big, bright, ensuite double room in a Victorian terraced house, in the pretty village of Wylam. We are 1.5 km from the Hadrian's Wall path (if going east to west), with riverside walks/bike rides from the door. It is 20 mins on a scenic train to Newcastle or Hexham and an easy drive to the coast. A kettle, tea, coffee and biscuits are provided in the room. Breakfast of cereal, fruit, yoghurt, toast and preserves is also provided (special diets catered for).
Our house is near the popular Hadrian's Wall path (1.5 km to the nearest point, for those walking east to west). We are by the lovely River Tyne, with beautiful riverside walks. It is a great area for cycling, with cycle route C72 (part of the C2C route) passing about 100 yards from our door. It is very near to George Stephenson's Cottage for those of you who are railway enthusiasts. Also only five minutes' drive or 20 minutes' walk from Close House golf club. Easy parking is available outside the house and there is space in the house to keep bikes safe. The little road is very quiet with only gardens on one side of the road. The room itself is big and bright, with two velux windows, a sofa, TV and small fridge. The bathroom is ensuite and for your personal use.
Wylam is a quiet, pretty, riverside village, with all amenities- a few shops, chemist, four pubs (three of which serve food) and two restaurants.
  • Would highly recommend this accommodation. The attic room and bathroom have everything that you would need. Judy and Neil are very friendly and hospitable. Their house is centrally located in the village, close to the shops, pubs and eateries. We shall return (assuming they'll have us back!).

  • THe attic room is just advertised but the little touches make this B&B exceptional value for money. WE've never had a fridge in a B&B before let all one with a small bottle of prosecco inside. THe " real" coffee was also unexpected. JUdy was a really welcoming host and made us feel at home.

  • This is our second visit, lovely room and great breakfast.

    Will2019-09-22T00:00:00Z
  • This was a great Airbnb experience! Judy and Neil are very accommodating hosts who truly make you feel like you are their special guests. From little touches like cookies by the bedside, to local tips and directions (painstakingly written out), this is an ideal stay.

  • Lovely host and great accommodation, ideal if you’re walking the HWP. Room was spotless and very comfortable, breakfast was just right. Would definitely stay there again.

    Carol2019-09-13T00:00:00Z
  • A quiet village location, lovely home. The atic room is much larger than the photo suggests. Very helpful hospitable host. Everything perfect.

    Richard2019-09-08T00:00:00Z
  • I wish we could give 10 stars for Judy and Neil's hospitality. We were walking the wall and the weather was just awful. They picked us up and drove us home, dried our clothes and shoes and made sure that we were warm, had dinner, and an amazing breakfast in the morning. The only downside was that our stay at their lovely home was just too short. Everything was amazing. Thank you!

    Petra2019-08-11T00:00:00Z
  • The room is in the attic of a nice house: very comfortable with a nice small couch and your own bathroom. From the windows you have a nice view. Judy and Neil are extremely friendly and very helpful. We had a wonderful breakfast and would highly recommend this place.

  • A lovely house in a quiet village location in beautiful Northumberland. Twin Pines has everything you could need for a wonderful break. Debbie is an excellent host and provides so many extras to make you feel welcome and to make your stay comfortable.

    Louise2019-11-18T00:00:00Z
  • The place is comfy and decorated as seen in the photos. WiFi signal is strong and the water is hot and have enough pressure. Debbie provided everything you need for my short stay, Milk, bread, egg, snacks,......... The host responded fast and everything runs smooth.

  • This place is amazing!! We went to visit family and attend a wedding and decided to stay for a few days. Debbie was an amazing host, she met with us on arrival, showed us in and chatted to us about the local area. She told us where to walk the dog and we thoroughly enjoyed exploring these walks. The house itself was beautiful, exceptionally clean, with lots of extra touches such as tea, coffee, sugar, milk, toilet rolls and toiletries available in case we had forgotten anything. Beds were all super comfortable with good quality bedding. During our stay Debbie was available via text or phone call for anything we needed. This is a fantastic base for exploring the many local attractions or for taking it easy and enjoying the beautiful scenery. We will definately be returning again soon, so happy we have found such a lovey place to stay that is so close to our family.

  • Fantastic place to stay. Debbie was super helpful and the property was great - ideal for our stay for a family wedding. The house was clean, with plenty of space for 6 people and a lovely garden. We even had biscuits and tea/coffee left for us which was great. The town of Wylam is really lovely, with good places to eat within walking distance from the house. Would definitely stay here again if we visit in the future.

  • Omg amazing hospitality, location... The personal touches in the house made it feel like a home from home we had an amazing time. Fantastic and friendly hosts who made sure we had everything we needed every step of the way and we can't wait to visit again. Thank you so much ❤️

  • We have recently had a 6 day stay at Twin Pines. Debbie was very helpful every step of the process and provided very quick responses to my many questions. The house had everything we needed and the village of Wylam is ideal. The area around the house was so quiet all the time we were there. We made use of all the pubs which are all different in their own ways. Our favourites were the Boathouse and The Ship. The small COOP had everything we needed for our stay and the pizza place in town did excellent pizzas (we had them as takeaway as the place was always filled booked). The station is a 5 minute walk from the house and has regular trains to Newcastle city (as well as other places). Wylam was well placed to get to Hadrians Wall and Beamish Living museum all approx 20 min drive. Cannot wait to return and spend longer exploring the local area. Thanks Debbie

No 1 White Gate Cottage is only minutes walk from Corbridge centre with its interesting shops, great cafes, restaurants and character pubs. Corbridge is the perfect centre for exploring Hadrians Wall and the beautiful Northumbrian countryside.
The cottage has recently been renovated to a very high standard and has a delightful private garden with patio dining area. It has the added advantage of car parking spaces which is unusual in the centre of Corbridge. There is a shed suitable for bike storage. The 2 bedroom accommodation is all at ground floor level with attractive open plan living with modern kitchen with all appliances , dining area and sunny lounge with large windows and doors to the pretty garden.
  • We had an amazing stay at White Gate Cottage which was beautifully furnished, modern throughout and sparkling clean. The real flame fire was especially lovely and was so nice to sit beside while relaxing with a wine and taking in the views of the garden. The cottage was perfectly placed just a short stroll from the centre of the village, so we could park the car up and walk everywhere and take in the sights of Corbridge properly. Doug’s communication, location and check in instructions were spot on, making our arrival trouble free, and the information book in the cottage gave us everything we needed to know about the cottage and Corbridge to make our stay easier. It was a really nice touch to find milk, butter, jams, bread, teabags, coffee, biscuits and a bottle of wine, that Doug had left, to welcome us after our long journey. We also loved the little bottles of toiletries on the towels. The best AirBnB we have stayed at by far. We are already looking at booking again.

  • Fantastic cottage. Short walking distance into the village. Clean, well equipped accommodation with Two good sized bedrooms. Very clean bathroom. Enough parking space for 2 cars and plenty of amenities within the village.

  • This is a really excellent place to stay. It is top notch stylish accommodation and it is so conveniently placed for walking into Corbridge. I had very elderly person with me and this was excellent accommodation for them with great access. I wouldn't hesitate at staying here again and can thoroughly recommend it to others.

    Mark2019-12-08T00:00:00Z
  • As can be seen from previous reviews, we stay here frequently when we visit the North East - this is such great accommodation I wouldn't consider anywhere else!

  • Lovely place to stay. Very comfortable and warm with all the mod cons. Excellent location within Corbridge, very easy to walk into the town. Would definitely recommend.

  • Excellent accommodation good position only minutes walk from the town centre. Loads of things to do in the area, however you like to spend your time there will be something to suit you

  • This was my 3rd stay at the cottage and it was fantastic as always! I couldn’t recommend it enough!

    Ruth2019-10-10T00:00:00Z
  • We really enjoyed our stay at the bungalow. It was extremely well appointed with everything one could need for a stay and more. Despite the weather not being too good, it was still lovely to look out onto the garden. The bungalow is in a quiet location and only a short easy walk into Corbridge. Douglas contacted us to say we could get into the bungalow earlier than 4.00 p.m. of which we would have taken advantage had we not been at the Roman Fort in Corbridge, not to be missed, also The Forum bookshop. The extras when we arrived were a nice surprise - milk, butter, bread, biscuits and wine. We would not hesitate in recommending anyone to stay and we are hoping to return next year.

  • A beautiful little house, very stylishly decorated and conveniently located.

  • We hired the cottage for my elderly mum so she could be near us for Christmas but also have her own space. The cottage is beautifully decorated, light, airy but very cosy for Christmas as well. Lorna was a brilliant host. Answering all my queries very quickly and even offering to add a grab rail in the shower. Lovely welcome pack was waiting on arrival with mulled wine and other calorific treats. Parking can be tricky on this street but over Christmas we always found a spot and if it was busy, Lorna’s suggestions to use the vet’s or the Chinese takeaway car park was good advice. As a local I would recommend this location to visitors as it’s really handy for the village centre and everything else Northumberland has to offer.
