Places to stay in Tollard Royal
Our cosy Studio for 2 nestles on the edge of woodland, yet only 5 mins away from Shaftesbury in Dorset. Wake up to bird song, go for long walks right from the door step, explore many nearby attractions, enjoy a meal or drink on the private terrace. It is possible to have a third person staying. Please indicate 3 people when booking and we will make an airbed, bedding and towels available. There is a charge of £15 per night for a third person. Please be aware that the place is small!
This self contained, modern & comfortable studio annex as its own entrance with private terrace and outdoor space. The property sits in an area of outstanding natural beauty, nestled on the hillside on the edge of ancient woodland. The property is set in 1 acre of wildlife gardens in a quiet hamlet just 5 minutes drive from the historic hill town of Shaftesbury on the border between Dorset and Wiltshire. We are located about 1.5miles outside Shaftesbury in a small hamlet on the edge of the woods. The Studio has a very comfortable King size bed (5 feet wide and 6 feet 6 inches long – 150 x 198 cm), well equipped kitchenette, sitting & dining area, a quite small shower room with basin and toilet, and a walk-in wardrobe/storage. Ideal for walking holidays and short breaks. The studio is well located if you want to visit the End of the Road Festival or Larmer Tree Festival. The kitchenette is well equipped, including full size fridge with freezer compartment, oven with grill, 2 plate induction hob, kettle, toaster and extractor fan. The Studio is ideal for individual travellers, close friends or couples (we welcome all couples!). We're also happy to accommodate parents with babies, but you will need to bring your own cot. Please note that children need to be supervised in the garden! There is a 42" TV with Freesat and DVD player, free Wifi Internet connection (although this can sometimes be slow or disrupted because of our rural location - we can therefore not guarantee the internet service) and stereo speakers for plugging in your iPod or MP3 Player. A selections of DVDs, games and books are available. Outside is a picnic table. You can view the many different birds on the bird feeders, stroll around the wild gardens or sit in one of several quiet benches around the garden. Please note that we basically live in the woods, so there is no view from the Studio terrace. However, guests are welcome to stroll to the end of the garden and enjoy some views from the bench. There is a well stocked village store only 2 miles away in the village of Ludwell, a small grocery store at the petrol station 1 mile away. In Shaftesbury you will find a large Tesco superstore and a lovely town centre with interesting shops and cafés including some very nice food shops. There's a market on Thursday mornings. Shaftesbury is famous for its Gold Hill (from the Hovis Bread ad), it's Abbey, historic buildings and the amazing views across the Blackmore Vale. Salisbury is only 35mins drive to the east and Bath an hour north. An hours drive will also get you to some of the most stunning beaches of the Jurrasic Coast. We have created our house and the Studio as environmentally friendly as possible. We have solar panels to help heat the water and Solar PV to generate electricity. Rainwater is collected and feeds the toilets in the house. We use environmentally friendly cleaning materials and recycle and compost. Please help by separating your recyclables from normal household rubbish. The Studio is extremely well insulated and has central heating. Please note: both the central heating and hot water are heated by an air source heat pump. This is a very efficient and low energy system but works on low temperatures. Therefore please wait 10 minutes between showers, as there may otherwise not be enough hot water available. Similarly the central heating does work on low heat, therefore please don't expect the radiators to be piping hot. The temperature in the Studio should always be comfortable. If not, please let us know as the settings may need adjusting. What makes our place unique is the location. You will be right at the edge of the woods. Deer and badgers sometimes visit the garden and we have an abundance of different birds including Woodpeckers, Long Tail Tits, Jays, Song Thrushes and Bull Finches. You will find some wonderful walks (short and long) right on your doorstep. Yet we are only a 5 minute drive from Shaftesbury, Dorset which has an good selections of independent shops & cafés and a large Tesco. You can park free in Tesco carpark for 3 hours and walk into town from there. The Jurassic Coast (Poole, Studland, Weymouth) or Bath are within an hours drive. We run a non-smoking property, but you are welcome to smoke outside. Just leave your cigarette butts in the receptacle provided outside your entry door. We have a dog ourselves, so know how difficult it is to find accommodation that allows dogs. As the Studio is only a one-room accommodation, it is not suitable for large dogs. But if you do want to bring a small dog, please ask and we will consider it. A surcharge of £5 per night for bringing a dog applies. We also have a cat, Misty. She's basically an outdoor cat, but she likes to manipulate guests to let her into the Studio. You should know this if you're allergic to cats, as we cannot guarantee that the Studio doesn't contain allergens. Also if you do not want her in your room, just chuck her out and keep the windows open only a small gap at night, as otherwise you might receive an unwanted visitor.
My favourite thing about living here is that one can go on walks from 30 minutes to 3 hours through the most glorious country side and woodlands right from our door step. Guests always comment on how well they sleep here because it is so quite and how they like being woken up by bird song. You really are in the midst of nature, yet only a 5 minute drive away from Shaftesbury on the Dorset/Wiltshire border. You can walk into town if you wish. It will take you approximately 40-45 minutes through fields and woodland. Salisbury is a 40 mins and day-trips can be taken to Bath, Stourhead, Poole, Weymouth and the Jurassic Coast.
  • I enjoyed my few days away in the comfortable and peaceful space of the eco hideaway. It is beautifully put together, with modern fittings and views looking out on the garden. The town of Shaftesbury is close by, and I especially loved Park Walk. Gabriela and Neil are friendly and responsive hosts who I would highly recommend. Thank you again for a lovely stay!

Our modern Eco Pod is set in it's own secluded wildlife garden area, giving a true nature experience with all the comforts for 2 people. Only 5 mins drive from Shaftesbury, Dorset, and 50 minutes from the Jurassic Coast. Superb country walks! It's normally set up with a king size bed. The Pod is tiny. Think of it as a two berth wooden caravan. It really just has the large bed, there is no table on the inside, but a small kitchen area with sink and hob.
The Pod is a small compact space built as an airtight structure that self regulates temperature and therefore is very comfortable. It's ideal for couples, close friends or one parent and child. It features a large bed (1.80m x 2.20) under a sloping ceiling, a small kitchenette with 2 burner hob and sink with hot & cold water. Please note that there is no table inside. There is literally just the bed and kitchenette. The kitchen is equipped with all essentials including kettle and toaster. You will also find Organic English Breakfast Tea, Organic Coffee, sugar, salt and pepper. There is decking on the outside which gets sunshine most of the day (when the sun shines). A few steps up is a Gazebo with a table and 2 chairs. This is a great space to have an al-fresco meal and watch the wildlife around the pond. There is a small cubicle with a compost toilet inside the Pod. Some people have commented that it is too small for a tall person to have the door closed. Please keep this in mind. Guests also have use of the separate unheated shower shed with hot water. Please note that during the Winter and early Spring the shower shed is not operating. In that case guests are welcome to use the shower in the main house. There is a summer house that houses a fridge freezer, a small oven, two camping chairs and space to store luggage or wet clothing/shoes. The Pod sits in it's own part of the garden, with 2 wildlife ponds. This creates a lovely, secluded garden area for our guests. You basically have your own little wildlife patch here. Ducks often visit the pond early in the morning. Look out for deer, badgers and pheasants. Because of the ponds our grounds are not suitable for small children.
The Pod is located in a small hamlet 1.5miles outside Shaftesbury, Dorset on the edge of ancient woodland. This is a quiet area and the most you will hear is the occasional dog barking, lawnmower or strimmer. However, don't be surprised to be woken by birdsong and to hear owls and other creatures at night. The local village store 'Ludwell Store and Postoffice' is approximately 1.5miles away and can be reached by foot, car or bicycle. The nearest pub is half a mile and the nearest supermarket 1.5 miles.
  • Kind hosts helped me out with a bit of olive oil to fry my supper!

  • Perfect place if you're after some quiet time with yourself (or with other)

  • Really thoughtful space, great for a quick getaway. Our hosts were lovely and very approachable!

    Yem2019-10-06T00:00:00Z
  • The pod is really lovely and relaxing! The bed is really big and I had reservations about the compost toilet but it was actually really good!

    Saskia2019-09-29T00:00:00Z
  • The perfect place to escape into nature, the gorgeous secluded pod was just perfect for our requirements with the added benefit that it was completely eco friendly! We visited Stonehenge and Bath while we were there, only 40 mins and an hour respectively and also took a short trip to Salisbury and Shaftesbury, there is some wonderful culture and history surrounding this area. The pod itself was compact but still completely liveable for the 5 days we were there with a kitchenette in the pod and a fridge and shower just on the other side of the garden. We were most surprised with how warm it was without any heating, especially if you cook in there. The compost toilet was not as scary as we first thought and we got used to it very quickly, as long as your comfortable with hearing the other person going to the loo as it’s inside the pod! All in all we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend it if your wanting to completely switch off and be in nature:)

    Jody2019-09-24T00:00:00Z
  • The pod is in a very secluded part of the property near two ponds. It is a lovely wild garden with lots of natural wildlife. We both had a lovely time and felt very at home at the pod. The pod itself is very clean and well thought out and it feels very cosy to sit there and watch the natural world around you.

  • The cabin was amazing- spacious bed and great amenities- and very clean and well kept. The outside space was outstanding and very relaxing. Thanks Gabriela for a lovely stay!

    Shaftesbury, Dorset, United Kingdom

Converted stables next to main house standing in pretty private valley opposite large pond. 25 acres surround it with grazing sheep. Peaceful countryside with buzzards, wild birds and deer and only 1.7 miles from Shaftesbury's many shops, restaurants/pubs. You can watch ducks, divers and moorhen from your breakfast table - and occasionally otters as well. We do have a few carp and tench in the pond and guests are welcome to fish - but we do not provide any fishing equipment or rods etc.
The cottage contains two attractive bedrooms, one twin and one double (King-size bed). Each bedroom has its own modern en-suite bathroom with shower over the bath. There is a small cosy sitting room with dining area that has outstanding views of the pond and rolling hills and a tiny but well equipped kitchenette. There is also a good sized utility room/back kitchen with gas cooker, kitchen sink unit, normal sized gas oven and grill, small additional ovenette, dishwasher, washing machine, refrigerator with icebox and iron/ironing board. Access to this room either through twin bedroom or via the garden. Full central heating and all radiators have individual thermostatic controls.
Dorset countryside at its best in the heart of Thomas Hardy country, with the ancient market town of Shaftesbury just 7 minutes away with its famous 'Hovis' Gold Hill and Shaftesbury Abbey museum in Abbey Walk. Great shopping with a mass of privately owned little shops of all sorts. Fun to explore. Includes a classic men's clothier and delightful boutiques including Cole and Cole - upmarket country clothes, as well as butchers, bakers, fruit and veg shops, florists, gift shops, jewellery shops and even a mini department store Hine and Parsons, Post office, Restaurants and much more. A street market once a week with a few stalls on Thursdays 9.00 am to 5.00 pm opposite Hine and Parsons and next to the Guild Hall and St Thomas's Church. Stalls include Fresh fish, cheeses, bread, plants, etc. Walk down attractive Park Walk near Costa Coffee and see stunning views towards us and the distant hills of South Dorset & the Blackmore Vale. Then head for the Queen Elizabeth the Queen mother's Garden - now being made a butterfly and bee paradise on the other side of the promontory. Here are fabulous views over towards Duncliffe Wood and Gillingham direction with benches to sit and ponder. Within 30 to 40 minutes drive are a wealth of activities including, Stonehenge (world heritage site), Stourhead Garden & House and lake (National Trust) is one of the greatest landscape gardens in the world creation of Banker Henry Hoare in 1740's on his return from the Grand Tour and planted with rare trees, Rhododendrons and Azaleas, with Pub, Cafe, excellent Gift Shop and Garden plants for sale there and pretty Church by the stunning Lake. Mainly flat walking and therefore good for wheelchairs and buggies. Salisbury with its magnificent Cathedral and tall spire 123 metres high, and it also has the Magna Carta - Salisbury Museum opposite with Early man, Roman and Saxon items housed in 17th-century rooms with some Turner watercolours, Longleat House, home of Lord Bath with famous Safari Park including naughty monkeys, Wimborne, with the quaint miniature 'Wimborne Model Town' and the very attractive Wimborne Minster Church with a very special Astronomical clock from the 14th C. Wimborne has lovely shops and tea rooms and cafes as well as a small theatre, Sherborne Old Castle once owned by Sir Walter Raleigh and close by is Sherborne New Castle and Garden centre, Beautiful Sherborne Abbey and pretty town of Sherborne with good shops. Montacute House (National Trust Elizabethan beauty completed in 1601) with amazing Long Gallery and pretty gardens (45 mins), and Athelhampton House a 15th century Country Manor House and gardens near Dorchester (34 mins , Dyrham Park (National Trust) (60 mins) near Bath, a magnificent 17th century Mansion House and Deer Park with historic herd of fallow deer roam across 270 acres and Arboretum, Inside the impressive mansion, built by hard-working civil servant William Blathwayt, discover fascinating interiors little changed in 300 years, as well as a rich collection that includes superb Dutch art and ceramics of the period. Then there is Bath!.... (Bath is 60 mins) a must if you haven't been there. I know somewhere very close to the centre of town where you can park. The fabulous Roman Baths are my absolute favourite but also visit the inspiring Bath Abbey (look up at the famous Vaulted ceiling) and walk to The Royal Crescent, as well as Bath's shops are superb. Have tea at Sally Lunn’s - it is much more than a world famous tea and eating house in Bath but also one of the oldest houses in Bath and home of the Bath Bun. More local to us is Old Wardour Castle ruin (22 mins & English Heritage) and a circular walk to The Foresters Pub and back is recommended for those who like long walks (walk takes 2 hours there and back from car park at either end). The Haynes Motor Museum at Sparkford, For children visit the Bison Centre at West Knoyle (21 mins) with lots of farm animals and pets corner as well as the Bison - buy bison burgers or meat etc from farm shop there, or visit the Larmer Tree Pleasure Gardens at Tollard Royal with children's trails. Blandford Forum (19 mins from us) has the Royal Signals Museum, and the Hall and Woodhouse Brewery Centre, and the Blandford Fashion Museum and just outside Blandford is the Shillingstone Railway Project (16 mins) - it is well worth going. There is a steam engine, various railway carriages, the original platforms and station buildings, and a great cafe. But above all, you get to meet a really great crew of volunteers, who are dramatically and rapidly transforming the station and track. Please check all websites for opening times.
  • Had a lovely 4 night stay at Janeys cottage. It was the perfect place to escape from the hustle and bustle but be close enough to a town to grab any bits you need. Lovely little lake outside the cottage and we enjoyed a row on the boat and my 18month old enjoyed chasing the chickens, ducks and watching the pheasants in the morning. Janey had left a fab file of things to do around the area and thoughtful touches - eggs, wine, bread, milk, butter, fresh flowers. Sadly we weren't well, so didn't mange to go out and do much but did go to a church service in the local village Fontmell magna and they were a wonderfully welcoming congregation. Thank you for a much needed pieceful break!

  • The cottage is well decorated and clean with good heating and plentiful hot water. The two bedrooms have comfortable beds and adequate storage. There is a small front kitchen and a larger rear kitchen/utility room. The lounge/dining room overlooks the lake. The location is peaceful and beautiful. Janey is a kind and helpful host who clearly enjoys meeting her guests. The milk, bread, butter, eggs, wine and crisps she provided for us were just the job for the first night. We really enjoyed our stay and would like to return in the near future.

    Michael2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • Loved our retreat with beautiful scenery. The cottage was cozy and warm with a stunning view of the stars at night. Myself and my friends had a fantastic time and would definitely return sometime again.

    Syed2020-01-19T00:00:00Z
  • Cottage is in a great location, rural but only a short drive from Shaftesbury. It's an added bonus to be able to walk in some of the fields surrounding the cottage. Janey is a great host, quick communication and helpful, there were also plenty of food essentials left in the cottage, plus a few treats! Cottage was cozy and warm, even in mid December!

    Ben2019-12-22T00:00:00Z
  • Very helpful host, great communication. Left us bread, fresh eggs from her hens, wine and crisps. Beautiful setting. Enjoyed exploring the pond and hills. Lovely cottage with comfy beds and good variety of kitchen equipment. All guests had a really nice stay and would come back again.

    Miranda2019-11-03T00:00:00Z
  • Janey is a fantastic and attentive host and it was great to spend a couple of nights at the cottage this half term. It was lovely to stay in such a cosy place and Janey welcomed us with great local tips and a few added extras which was really well appreciated. It is a lovely quiet location complete with its own private lake! Shaftesbury is only a 5 minute drive away and a is a lovely little town. Dorset is well worth a visit and the cottage is a great location to explore the county from. We hope to be back in the summer where we can enjoy more of the local area and the lake next to the cottage too!

    Amanda2019-10-31T00:00:00Z
  • Highly recommended! Janey's cottage was the perfect home for our weekend in Dorset. It is quiet, really cosy, has a nice view on the lake, and is perfectly located to walk around Melbury Hill or visit Shaftesbury. Plus Janey was a great host, and really made us feel at home. Thanks again so much!

    Tristan2019-10-27T00:00:00Z
  • We had an amazing family trip at Janey’s property. Outstanding hospitality and a delightful property perfect get away. The boating lake and wildlife walks were a very special touch to our break. Great communication, very welcoming and a lovely host. Thank you Janey

The Retreat is a one bedroom self-contained, peaceful, comfortable and well furnished annex apartment to the ground floor of a large house, located in Donhead St Andrew on the Wiltshire and Dorset border. The property is 4 Miles from Shaftesbury, and 16 miles from the world famous cathedral city of Salisbury.
  • Louis was a great host. The place was well furnished and in a great location. Highly recommend and would definitely stay here again.

  • Lovely flat, very clean and all appliances that you would need. Lovely courtyard garden and peaceful environment.

    Sonia2019-11-24T00:00:00Z
  • Louis is very helpful and met us on arrival. The Retreat was very clean and comfortable and is well located for Shaftesbury and the Wiltshire villages. Very much enjoyed our stay

    Peter2019-10-14T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely place, as other have said- don't underestimate the steps. Getting your stuff down is easy but dragging it back up again was more difficult. Nice to have an oven and washing machine to use should we of needed too and a fridge! Fully read the directions from Louis, took us about 4 attempts going up and down the road continually turning around to find the turning. The image on Google maps is a lie haha other than that absolutely beautiful!!

    Ruby2019-09-29T00:00:00Z
  • The Retreat was a perfect find for us as a base to explore the area a little on a short break. Louis was a very welcoming host and his set up has been very thoughtfully put together, providing home from home comforts. We certainly hope to return again!

    David2019-08-25T00:00:00Z
  • What’s a place, where to start... Louis welcomed us in person and showed us the accommodation, the communication was perfect from the start to the end. You’ll be amazed by the driveway and the garden, and nothing can beat the view!!! We’ve enjoyed our stay so much, the cat Jess and the dog Dora have shown us the best hospitality in Dorset!! We enjoyed playing with them before going for our adventure! The location is perfect if you want to explore Dorset and Wiltshire! There are a few lovely pubs around, we have tried The Grove Arms where they do yummy food in big portions! The accommodation itself is clean and comfortable, Louis even provided a welcome pack! Thank you Louis for our lovely stay!! Highly recommended this place to anyone who would like to explore the beautiful surroundings!!

    Mathew2019-08-01T00:00:00Z
  • Well appointed self contained accomodation. Beautifully clean and lovely garden to enjoy.

    Rebecca2019-07-27T00:00:00Z
  • This was our first Airbnb experience! We were impressed. Spotlessly clean with everything you could possibly need and a lovely welcome pack. There are a few steps to apartment but they're not too steep and there are handrails. The little courtyard off the bedroom is cute and when the sun is shining it's lovely to sit there with a cuppa! Louis's garden is very pretty with beautiful views. Ah and Louis's little dog is very sweet and incredibly well behaved.

The vintage hideaway is a self contained annexe attached to my house. It is light airy and comfortable, you have a bed sitting room , kitchenette and shower room. There is access from the bedroom to a seating area on the deck at the back over looking an area of outstanding natural beauty. The house is close to lovely walks and the historic town of Shaftesbury with a variety of cafes , individual shops and pubs, and of course Gold Hill.
The area of Cranborne Chase to the south and east of the house is currently awaiting international dark sky reserve status for the star gazing enthusiasts. There is also a small airfield locally offering wing walking! and a great lunch.
  • Would highly recommend Jo's place. Cosy and quirky with great views - the ideal hideaway! We also took advantage of the massage from Jessie which was great. Thank you

    Josh2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely stay!

    Luke2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • A lovely place, the space is so interesting and the view is just incredible!

    Leanne2020-02-15T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay at Jo's will always be special to us. We got engaged just before arriving at Jo's for the evening. We decided against going out for a fancy meal, and instead ordered a take-away to The Vintage Hideaway (there's only one that would deliver to the location but it was delicious!) and played a board game (our own). It was the most perfect evening, made even more perfect by being completely off grid due to lack of phone signal. The view from the bedroom was absolutely spectacular, even on the overcast day we stayed. The croissants were an adorable touch and we loved having those in bed the following morning admiring the view. The only thing to be aware of is the complete lack of phone signal, it's great if that is what your looking for but the WiFi was also pretty rubbish, only getting signal right by the front door. Despite the poor signal and WiFi, we absolutely loved our stay at The Vintage Hideaway and we will, for sure, be back!!

    Catherine2019-12-29T00:00:00Z
  • A really memorable stay. Cozy cabin style place in an awesome rural setting with lots of nice touches inside.

    James2019-12-07T00:00:00Z
  • A cozy well equipped hideaway. No hesitation recommending a stay

    Paul2019-11-22T00:00:00Z
  • We had an absolutely wonderful weekend at Jo's place- what a beautiful find!! Jo was fantastic at communicating and was very accommodating with our last minute changing of timings when visiting for our friends wedding. Her directions were clear and easy to follow (even in the dark!). The vintage hideaway is lovely and all the thoughtful little touches were very much appreciated. It's a shame we didn't have the best weather to enjoy the beautiful terrace area but the views are amazing. Would highly recommend- thanks for a great stay.

    Claire2019-10-27T00:00:00Z
  • Jo’s place was beautiful and in a lovely location. She was really welcoming and had great advice for places to visit in the area. There were lots of lovely extra touches, the croissants left for breakfast were particularly appreciated! We would definitely stay again.

The Cottage is set in the grounds of our Georgian listed house, in the picturesque village of Tollard Royal in the heart of Cranborne Chase. It offers comfort, style, a hearty breakfast of local and homemade produce. See www.perrycottagebb.com
  • We had to stay in the area for work and found this room on the site. It was so much better than expected and the host was so helpful and welcoming. The room is its own detached cottage with a separate sitting room, bedroom and bathroom, all gorgeous spaces, spotlessly clean and stylish. Very private space, which was nice. The parking is right outside and secure which was perfect for our needs. Breakfast was perfect and we enjoyed strolling up to the house, through the gardens, to be sat in the stunning dining room to eat. We felt that this place turned our work trip into a mini break . A gorgeous pub a few steps away was great too !

    Anna2019-11-09T00:00:00Z
  • Alexandra's place was perfect for what we needed. We were visiting for a wedding nearby so it was a great location, and the village is very picturesque. The cottage is really nicely done up - clean and spacious. Alexandra was a great host - she got back to us quickly, made checking in very easy, and gave us a great breakfast. A great find! X

    Fiona2019-11-03T00:00:00Z
  • Alexandra is am amazing host with a great cottage, very cosy, in a great location and the outdoors. Great hospitality and breakfast in the morning!!! We had great time and I would highly recommend staying here! Thank you very much!

    Alexander2019-09-03T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely little space which had everything you’d need. Alex was a very attentive host and provided a scrumptious breakfast! Would recommend to those staying in the area.

  • Very comfortable and nicely furnished place, just the right size and location for our stay. Alex was very friendly and amenable about our requests and we enjoyed our hearty breakfast. Would definitely recommend!

  • Would recommend 100% My partner and I are already working out/considering when we could return for longer. Beautiful place to stay both inside and out, even in February/March with bits of wind and rain still incredible. Woke up early one day to travel to Lulworth Cove for the sunrise, spent time in front of the log burner, went on local walks. Don't hesitate just book!

  • Great space, very comfortable, and spotlessly clean with lots of thoughtful extras. The Cartshed is modern (fantastic shower!), but cosy (we loved the wood fire). We stayed there for a family wedding and couldn't have been happier with our choice! An oasis of peace, quiet and calm during an amazingly busy, joyous and hectic weekend of celebrations. Charlie and Ali truly were the best of Super Hosts - thank you both !

    Caroline2020-02-10T00:00:00Z
  • We came to stay at the Cartshed after a very long January! We just needed to get away somewhere peaceful and relaxing - it did not disappoint. Charlie and Ali are the perfect hosts and the local area is a perfect place get away from everything. I simply cannot praise everything enough!

    Lauren2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • My wife and I stayed at the Cartshed to recover from the Christmas rush. We had a lovely stay, relaxing in front of the fire and going for walks. The place was clean, well equipped and comfortable. We'd recommend staying at the Cartshed to anyone who likes local farm shops, long walks and getting away from the busyness of life.

  • A really stylish property in a good location to explore North Dorset. Friendly helpful hosts. Good value for money.

    Robert2019-12-11T00:00:00Z
  • I simply cannot fault our stay at The Cartshed. The pictures do not do this beautiful place justice! The Cartshed was well equipped, very clean and the decor was very nice and luxurious. The Christmas tree was a nice touch too! Charlie and Ali came down to greet us on arrival explained a few things to us and gave us very good recommendations on what to do around the surroundings areas, although they had created a clear book for guidance too. The shower was very lovely and the fire was a perfect feature for late November/December nights. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would recommend it to anyone who wants a quiet weekend away. Thank you Charlie and Ali we hope to return in the new year! :)

  • The cottage is absolutely stunning, and looked just as good as the photos show (if not better). The kitchen had every amenity you could need, and was stocked with tea, coffee, salt, pepper and cleaning products. The bathroom was spotlessly clean and we were provided with towels and a bathrobe. We loved the fireplace and sat around it for most of our trip as it was so warm and cosy. Check-in and check-out was easy through a lock box. Though the cottage was close to other homes, we still felt very secluded. There are pubs within driving distance and there is also a massive Tesco not far so you don't have to worry about shopping before you go. We would definitely go again.

    Bhavisha2019-11-23T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay at the Cartshed was once again amazing . It was lovely to meet Charlie and Ali this time . They shared with us the exciting development on site , which we are sure will be completed with the same stylish taste , excellent finishes and attention to detail. All this in a homely environment. We very much look forward to our next stay .🏡🏡🏡

This beautiful, bright cottage is set in a unique small village in the Dorset countryside, called Chettle, which has the feeling you have stepped back in time. The village has a well-stocked village shop, a popular community playground, an amazing restaurant, the Castleman, and plenty of beautiful walks and cycle rides straight from the doorstep. You are also between 30-45 minutes drive from the Jurassic Coast with it’s stunning beaches and breathtaking walks along the South-West Coastal Path.
The cottage is in a courtyard called St Mary’s with a big Cedar of Lebanon standing in the centre. It has a small lawn to the front and a secluded but spacious patio at the rear with amazing views of the majestic 18th century manor house, Chettle House, and the village church next door. This was the former vicar’s residence. The cottage has a cosy sitting room with a log burner, a fully fitted and well-stocked kitchen and dining room, 2 bedrooms (1 with a double bed, 1 with zip and link singles that can make a king), a bathroom and another separate loo. It is on 1 floor with only 2 steps up to get to the bedrooms. The kitchen has many useful extras including a fridge-freezer, gas hob, electric oven, microwave, dishwasher, all the kitchen utensils you could need including a cafetiere, electric whisk and stick blender. The bathroom has a bath and shower with Faith in Nature shampoo and conditioner and refillable liquid soap dispensers and a hairdryer. There is also a second bathroom with a loo and sink. The sitting room has a TV with a DVD player, a selection of books and a chest full of games and puzzles as well as some soft throws and blankets to snuggle up with. The bedrooms have feather duvets and pillows but should you require non-allergen alternatives then we can provide these too. There are also extra blankets to keep you toasty. There are chest of drawers as well as wardrobes with hangers in. We can also provide a travel cot if necessary. We provide logs for the fire too. To get a feel for the village check out our instagram page https://www.instagram.com/chettlevillage/
Chettle is in the 380 square miles of countryside known as the 'Cranborne Chase AONB' (are of outstanding natural beauty) which is also an 'International Dark Sky Reserve' (http://www.ccwwdaonb.org.uk/). The 'Jubilee Trail' also runs straight through the village making it popular with walkers. Wingreen, Stourhead, King Alfred's Tower, Larmer Tree, Kingston Lacey and many more places to visit are a short car journey away. You can also walk to the next door village of Farnham (1-2miles walk depending on the route) for a exceptional pub lunch at The Museum Inn.
  • Chettle is a lovely rural village, the cottage is in a great spot in an old farm building. It is a short walk from the village store and backing onto a beautiful house. There is nice walking nearby and the cottage is cosy and the beds are very pretty. The children enjoyed walking around the village. Our host made us a warm welcome and we felt right at home.

  • We stayed one night in this cottage and were the first airbnb guests. The cottage is simple but very nicely appointed. Wood burning fire is a big plus for winter nights. Comfortable beds and good linen. Lovely views out the back to Chettle House and the lovely churchyard. Check in and directions went very smoothly. A great stay~

The Tack Room Cottage is situated on our working Farm in Tarrant Gunville, near Blandford in Dorset. Originally used for all things equestrian when we farmed with heavy horses many years ago. The property is approximately 250 years old and has been beautifully restored to a very high standard. The Tack Room has its own walled garden, an ideal sun trap for enjoying afternoon's outside or sitting outside in the evening taking in the stars.
Also onsite we have our own award winning Farm Shop and Tea Room, where you can find local produce and Home Cooked Food, through the summer we light up our wood fired oven for the most delicious Dorset Pizza's we also have a fully licensed bar The Tack Room Cottage is ideal for couples, business travellers and solo adventurers
Lying in the heart of rural Dorset, the Tarrant Valley is a thriving rural community with enthusiasm for its agricultural roots. For visitors, it offers a truthful insight about rural life, as well as hearty local food, medieval villages and glorious walks. With a not to far drive, why not visit the Jurassic Coast to take in some stunning views, also on our doorstep are numerous National Trust and English Heritage properties. Local towns include Blandford, Shaftesbury, Sherborne, Wimborne and Salisbury
  • This place is a jewel! A fantastic base from which to explore North Dorset (country walks, great pubs, nearby historic towns, & the Jurassic coast) and a slap up Home Farm Shop breakfast right next door.) The Tackroom is beautifully decorated, very well equipped, with a pile of thoughtful touches. Marlene and Abi were terrific hosts. Truly, a 5-star country AirBnB.

  • I found a golden ticket in the countryside! What a beautiful little cottage. We were in awe on arrival and have felt so at home. This stay actually reminds me of the movie The Holiday, when Cameron Diaz arrives at the quaint british cottage. My girlfriend's reaction was not dissimilar to that of Diaz who shreaked with happiness, rushes towards the front door and eventually polishes off the bottle of wine, blissfully happy and at peace. The owners are exceptional and have a great story. Warm, inviting, familial, and when I arrived (late, alone, road weary to be traveling on New Year's Eve) their hospitality (and Beef Wellington) moved me at my core. A huge thank you to Maya for teaching me the tick-tock dance. Overall a great place to unwind, reenergize and explore the peaceful country roads. Loved exploring: gold hill at shaftesbury, local charity shops, old wordour castle and the country pubs dotted around the idyllic countryside (such as walking to Farnham through the fields for a pint). This is a new let and, at present, kind of a secret. Blessed be those who discover it.. I hope The Tack Room continues to touch the hearts of its guests and the owners are blessed with gratitude and good stories. Hope to see you again. :) all the best!

  • Marlene's place, the Tack Room, is a new property, converted from where the family used to keep the horse saddles. Don't let the newness put you off. It's a gem of a place! The family have put lots of lovely small touches in that make it a cosy stay, including large fluffy towels, making sure there is everything from washing up liquid to biscuits and the lovely little woodburning stove. Marlene and family are next door but are not intrusive at all. They are there if you need anything (and the farm shop is amazing!). Would recommend this place for any occasion

  • A delightful annex with everything you need for a comfortable stay, with a big comfy bed. We were given very clear and helpful instructions to find the cottage. The village is incredibly picturesque, and the location was perfect for us to get to and from a wedding at Larmer tree gardens. Breakfast things for the morning were particularly appreciated!

    Hazel2019-10-13T00:00:00Z
  • From the start David was a amazing host. Very quick at responding and full of local knowledge. His home is beautiful, in an amazing location, it’s a real gem ( the bed was super comfortable too!) He made us feel so welcome. We had a welcome pack consisting of milk, bread, jams, fresh orange juice & eggs. Which was such a lovely touch. He also went that extra mile and dropped us to the wedding venue as we were having trouble with taxi’s. The only down side was we didn’t stay long enough. We hope to return one day for a little mini break.

  • David’s ‘little house’ is attached to the most beautiful thatched cottage with a wonderful garden - an absolute refuge for us from the madness of the city. It was incredibly clean and comfortable - all we needed for a perfect weekend. It was wonderful to sit outside in the sun in a lovely garden having breakfast every morning! David was a very kind and thoughtful host. And the countryside around the cottage is awash with history, beautiful walks and good pubs! Thank you David.

  • Very nice place to stay, clean, stylish, and plenty of croissants to go around for breakfast! Elizabeth was a great host, very accommodating and thoughtful. A few things to note: there's no central heating, but rather a small electric heater but this works absolutely fine for the size of the place. Also, the location on the map isn't exactly right, but you just keep going to the end of the road and you'll find it easy. Would definitely stay again!

Nestled in the heart of the Cranborne Chase, The Old Forge is the perfect retreat for those looking to appreciate the slower pace of life. The 18th Century former Carriage and Wheelwrights workshops have been transformed to create two charming two self-catering cottages with unique appeal. Constantly evolving, recent years have seen the introduction of Sam and Mabel the Shepherd's Huts embracing the 'glamping' revolution.
The Smithy lies just across the yard from the main house and was the original Blacksmiths forge. • We loved our stay in this cosy and quirky place and would very much like to return. Tim, Lucy and Sophie were wonderful hosts and we have no hesitation in recommending the Smithy as an excellent base to explore a beautiful part of the country.

  • I cannot think of anything I would change. The location enables you to explore pretty much all of Dorset within an hour. It is peaceful and very comfortable, I am sure there are many fine places to eat close-by but it was much nicer to light the fire and cook something to stay in with. Beautiful surroundings, cosy accommodation, great hosts and a soundtrack of owls and woodpeckers...

We have 2 rooms for you to choose from that share a private shower room. We only let both rooms out at the same time if guests are in the same group. Bedroom 1 - King size bed or can be made into a twin, TV, tea/coffee making facilities, hairdryer. This room is situated next to the shower room. Bedroom 2 - King Size bed, T.V, tea/coffee making facilities, hairdryer. This room is in the eves and has narrow and steep stairs so might not be suitable for some guests. There is a door separating the guest area from our own bedrooms so that guests have a little more privacy at night. We usually open this door and head downstairs ourselves around 7.30am during term time and 8am at weekends/holidays. An extra mattress can be squeezed in to the loft room under the eaves if absolutely necessary but for 3 persons in 1 room an extra £20 will be charged, this covers the laundry, cleaning and breakfast. We are a family with 2 children, 2 dogs, 1 cat and 2 rabbits. Our home was originally a brewery so has many quirky features and includes the stream that was used to brew the beer running through our garden. The pub next door (open all day) has recently been refurbished to a high standard...not far to go for meals, a coffee or a local ale! The village called Fontmell Magna is a typically beautiful Dorset village with many pretty thatched cottages. We have 1 school, 1 pub, 1 church, a beautiful village shop/tea rooms/postoffice and the most stunning countryside all around. There are many beautiful walks close by which include the Melbury Downs. This is also an area popular with cyclists. Shaftesbury is 7 minutes away with Gold Hill a pretty attraction made famous by the Hovis Advert. The Jurassic coast and the historic town of Bath can be reached in under an hour. There are also many other attractions and places to visit within easy reach, Longleat Safari Park is just 35 minutes away. We are ideally placed for events being held at Springhead (a 5 minutes walk up the road) and The Larmer Tree Gardens. The nearest stations are 25 minutes away but collection could be available if prearranged and convenient. The bus stops right by the pub and has services to Shaftesbury, Blandford Forum and beyond. A basic breakfast is included and we offer you tea/coffee, juice, fruit, cereal, toast. Please let me know the evening before what time you would like to have breakfast. During the week I have to get kids off to school so I could prepare your breakfast before or after this time. Breakfast is also available at the pub from 8am...This would need to be booked in advance so please let us know the evening before if you want this option. Check in is from 3pm, check out is 10am but we can be flexible if no other guests are booked in and is pre arranged. It would be helpful if you could let us know a rough time of arrival as I am often popping out to do school runs and children's activities. EXTRAS CHILD (in cot) £5 per night Extra Mattress in loft room £20 If the 2nd room is used by children this will still be charged at the full room rate USE OF WASHING MACHINE/DRYER - £2 per load Please let us know in advance if you want to eat at the pub next door so we can book a table for you as it can get busy at weekends. For more information on meal prices etc please look at The Fontmell's website. Please do contact us with any questions...

    Tatiana2019-09-02T00:00:00Z
  • This was our first Airbnb trip aswell as our first glamping trip and all we can say is WOW!! Simon and Denise went out of their way to make us feel welcome, we loved the little hamper that was in the hut ready for our arrival. The cookies and Apple juice were the firm favourites with our children. The other winner being our neighbours, The chickens...Denise let my children collect the eggs and feed them in the afternoon, nothing better than bringing eggs home that my children had collected the day before. The hut itself was spotlessly clean and literally had everything in it that we could of needed, right down to batteries! All we needed to take was our clothing, bedding and food! The shower room was immaculate, with a flushing toilet and perfectly hot water for all 4 of us to have a shower in the morning! Simon very kindly showed us around the farm museum, where we learnt about the 4000 year history of the farm and my children were amazed! To end the trip we purchased some of the brilliant Cranborne chase cider to enjoy at home! All in all this place is amazing and don't believe anyone could be disappointed! We will be returning next year and bringing friends so they can enjoy it with us! Thank you Denise and Simon for a great trip!

    Kelly2019-08-22T00:00:00Z
  • Denise was so friendly and helpful, such a warm welcome. The location is peaceful and the shepherds hut was beautiful. We slept so well and enjoyed our fire pit and BBQ! The children loved helping feed the chickens too! Can’t wait to come back.

    Lindsey2019-08-20T00:00:00Z
  • The shepherds hut is amazing, we loved every second of our stay. Denise is a brilliant host and could not do enough for us- the children loved helping To feed the chickens every afternoon. The hut was lifted out with milk, tea, coffee, fruit and veg and lots of lovely little treats. This was above our expectations and we will definitely book to stay again

    Paul2019-08-13T00:00:00Z
  • We arrived on bikes to a bustling cider hut, fresh vegetable stall and incredibly cosy and immaculate little hut. Although we walked one evening to the Museum Inn in the village, the hut is equipped with hob, BBQ and fire - we made use of all of these! All very easy since Denise and family provided firewood, kindling and even marshmallows! Denise had left a little box of treats which we very much appreciated after our long cycle! Both the cider and the apple juice were so delicious too. We enjoyed waking up to the chickens and the glorious sprawling vegetable patch! Four people fit comfortably in the hut, and we were blessed with good enough weather to eat outside. Cider on tap and a warm shower across the field were highlights. Thank you, we will try to visit again! We would recommend highly. Ellie, Mali, Nicci & Orlaith

    Eleanor2019-08-05T00:00:00Z
  • We spent 4 idyllic days at the farm. The hut was super cute and comfortable. The bathroom and shower were great. We enjoyed outdoor meals while watching the sunset over the fields. Denise and her husband were super friendly and hospitable. We really loved the local and home made produce such as eggs, sausages, cucumbers and jams. The farm produces a really outstanding cider they sell from a quirky sheperd hut. Would really recommend it!

    Barbara2019-07-26T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great stay with Denise. The place was beautiful, quiet and we loved the Shepherds Hut! Genuine original charm. And great with the kids. Denise was a really helpful and a charming host. Very recommendable!

    Stephen2019-07-22T00:00:00Z
  • I can't recommend this place highly enough. Denise and Simon really go out of their way to make you feel welcome and the little touches such as fresh eggs and homemade jam left in the hut, along with marshmallows for the firepit, really made it an enjoyable stay. We had cider tasting on our arrival and Denise knows so much about the local area that it made our visit to Dorset even more enjoyable.

  • We stayed here the night of our wedding (which we held locally); it was totally perfect - a beautifully converted garden loft with views from the bed straight across a garden and to an area of trees and the open sky. All facilities, coffee, fridge, good shower, thoughtful breakfast. Can't recommend enough!

    Joseph2019-09-08T00:00:00Z
  • We can thoroughly recommend staying at the Sparrow's Nest, Philippa was an obliging host who went out of her way to make us feel at home (even after arriving late with a hungry baby!). The accomodation itself was furnished beautifully, spotlessly clean and we were provided with all the necessary amenities. A delicious spread was offered for breakfast, including fresh raspberries, croissants and apple juice from the local orchard. Our only regret is not staying long enough to enjoy the surrounding countryside! We hope to stay again and would recommend to those wishing to stay in the area.

    Harry2019-09-07T00:00:00Z
  • We had a lovely stay. The location is beautiful, we went for a lovely walk and ended up drinking the local cider in the pub next door. Philippa went above and beyond and kindly gave us a lift to the wedding we were going to as there were limited taxis in the area. The bed is really comfy and the garden beautiful to enjoy your breakfast.

  • We stayed at Gable Cottage for a winter weekend away. It was such a cosy place to stay and had a lovely log burner which was perfect for those dark winter nights. It’s tastefully decorated inside with spacious bedrooms and the shepherds hut is very sweet! There are miles of walks and bridleways straight from the front door, beautiful views and a friendly local pub with good traditional food. There was also a welcome food hamper which was a lovely thoughtful touch. Would definitely recommend and we all hope to stay again.

  • We had a lovely weekend in Louise's cottage, the welcome hamper was an especially nice touch!

  • Fantastic cottage in a beautiful location! Great hospitality from Louise. Highly recommended

    Wayne2019-10-20T00:00:00Z
  • The house is in beautiful surroundings, it was perfect for our stay. It was very clean and well stocked with fresh flowers! The garden was lovely and the house had an elevated position, affording lovely views. Theres a nice pub just a few minutes from the house. We would love to come back.

    Thomas2019-09-02T00:00:00Z
  • Great house in an oasis of peace. The cottage is traditional and very well equipped. It’s in on its own piece of land in a very small village. You oversee the beautiful rolling hills of England. The bathroom is basic, but has a nice warm shower/bath. There’s one toilet, in the bathroom, which can be a bit minimal with a family. The village is central and the coast, like Poole or beautiful Weymouth can be reached within an hour drive. Alternatively, the Cotswolds are within an hour drive as well. I warmly recommend this place. Louise is a great host who is very responsive.

    Ronald2019-08-08T00:00:00Z
  • This cottage is a wonderful place to relax. Louise kept in touch before and during our stay to make sure everything was ok, and was quick to provide us with any requests. We enjoyed a very peaceful weekend and made the most of the outside tables for evening meals. There are lovely walks in the area too. It was a perfect place for families, we went with two babies and a dog and the space was great. Would definitely recommend and will be returning in the future. Thank you!

  • Lovely hut in part of Dorsets most beautiful areas

    Sally2019-08-19T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely, quirky accommodation which is comfortable and perfect for being off-grid with comfort and not too isolated. Elizabeth and her daughter were fantastic hosts. They very kindly allowed us to use their beautiful swimming pool and achieved the perfect balance of being available to help and giving us privacy. There isn’t much (that we could see) in walking distance but you can make food on site and it’s a really cosy set up. We hope to be back soon and would recommend! Thank you Elizabeth.

  • Just had a lovely few days at Lavender. The rural location is perfect for a peaceful get away. The Sherherds Hut is quirky and cute with very comfortable beds. The children loved the pool and the outside space. The gardens are lovely!

    Cristina2019-08-14T00:00:00Z
  • Gorgeous little hut very cute inside! Really lovely place to get away from everything!

    Rebecca2019-08-11T00:00:00Z
  • Delightful cute and quirky space. We stayed with our 16 year old daughter and had a fantastic time, we spent two days onsite just chilling which was amazing. Facilities are sparkling clean and a bonus that they are for your sole use. We cooked in the hut every night and there were plenty of utensils, crockery, wine glasses etc. Elizabeth is a great host letting you know she is there for you if you need anything, but keeping away when you don't. Have already recommended to lots of our friends and would definitely visit again.

    sarah2019-08-09T00:00:00Z
  • We have just returned from a 2 night stay. We had a fantastic time. The farm is lovely and the pool was awesome. The kids had a fantastic time and loved the adventure of sleeping in such a unique location. We didn’t feel like we were in someone’s garden and a lot of that is down to Elizebeths approach which is friendly and unobtrusive. A great stop over which we would for sure consider again

    Graham2019-08-04T00:00:00Z
  • We really loved staying in Lavender. It’s super cute and once we’d worked out who fitted it which beds (some of us are very tall) we slept very well. We had a lovely sunny barbecue and used Lavender as a base to visit Stonehenge.

  • Just wow. The local area is stunning, the house was incredible and Sarah was so warm and welcoming, giving us lots of great recommendations for nearby pubs and walks before we arrived. Two nights is not enough!

  • Lovely place, beautiful setting and stunning views. Great hospitality too - Sarah couldn't do enough for us, will definitely look to stay again

    Neil2019-12-22T00:00:00Z
  • Upstairs at the barn was very spacious for a couple plus baby, stylish, and comfortable. Sarah was a considerate host, giving us flexibility in arrival and departure times, leaving some refreshments to get us started, and lending us some toys. She gave us lots of information about the area and the property. We particularly appreciated that the accomodation stands alone, which meant we didn't have to worry about our 10-month-old being noisy at all hours.

    Ian & Laura2019-11-03T00:00:00Z
  • An exceptionally nice place to stay. Lovely area with great walks, and a great space to stay in, with good amenities and views. Sarah is a great host, and has put a lot of thought into making it just right. One day we walked to Swallowcliffe and had a nice lunch at the Royal Oak. And one evening we walked down to the Horseshoe (sweet little village local). Perfect place for a getaway for a long weekend.

This beautiful 2-bedroom barn conversion, in the heart of rural Dorset, may have a past as a home for farm animals, but it’s present incarnation is pure, sophisticated boutique hotel luxury, complete with gorgeous Bramley toiletries and sumptuous White Company robes and towels. Plus, there’s a family-friendly gastro-pub or two, and an alternative therapies centre, within a short walk, so whatever your preference, relaxation is high on the agenda. PLEASE GOOGLE 'DORSET COWSHED'
We are really aimed at young families with all the kit you could need for your stay and plenty of advice on where to go and how to entertain the little ones. But there is also plenty of time for adults to relax and the local pub is a definite favourite!
Guests may find it difficult to tear themselves away from the sheer, relaxing luxury of The Cowshed. But those who do find lots to amuse themselves. The rolling Purbeck hills invite exploration by foot or bike, full of ruined castles, stately homes like Longleat and Cranborne, and, less than an hour away, are the long, unspoilt beaches of the Jurassic coast and the shops, bars and boutiques of Poole and Bournemouth. This is prime country pub territory too. Perfect for lazy lunches with the little ones, of course, but if a child-free evening for two is called for, then owner Claudia can recommend a local babysitter that she has has already tested out on her own young sons.

  • This was our second stay and we loved it just as much as the first. The cottage is a great space for two young families to share due to the two staircases leading to two individual bedroom/bathroom areas. Beautifully decorated throughout, the cottage really does feel like a home from home. Jamie is a wonderful host: thoughtful and quick to respond. Thanks again Jamie!

  • A stylish and comfortable retreat within a pretty village. The cottage was well-presented and set up for families with young children with a high chair, cot and children’s tableware. The two-stair layout worked well for us as we were two families holidaying together. We had our own sleeping quarters with shared common spaces downstairs. Jamie was a great host, offering useful information and ensuring that we had everything we needed for a good break. Thank you Jamie - I hope we’ll be back!

Bedroom 1 - King size bed or can be twin, TV, tea/coffee making facilities, hairdryer. This room is situated next to the shower room. Bedroom 2 - King Size bed, T.V, tea/coffee making facilities, hairdryer. This room is in the eaves and has narrow and steep stairs so might not be suitable for anyone that's very tall or has mobility issues. There is a door separating the guest area from our own bedrooms so our guests have a little more privacy at night. We usually open this door and head downstairs ourselves around 7.30am during term time and 8am at weekends/holidays. An extra mattress can be squeezed into the loft room under the eaves if absolutely necessary but an extra £20 will be charged, this covers the laundry, cleaning and breakfast. We are a family with 2 children, 2 dogs, 1 cat and 2 rabbits (free range). A basic beakfast is included and we offer you tea/coffee, juice, fruit, cereal, toast. It would be helpful if you could let us know a rough time of arrival as I am often popping out to do school runs etc. EXTRAS CHILD (in cot) £5 per night Extra Mattress in loft room £20 If the 2nd room is used by children this will still be charged at the full room rate USE OF WASHING MACHINE/DRYER - £2 per load Please let us know in advance if you want to eat at the pub next door so we can book a table for you as it can get busy on weekends. The Black Lab, Buddy, was adorable; greeting us with a huge toothy smile every time we walked in. Tonka, the Border Terrier was just as affectionate, but without the smile! Thanks

  • Mary-Anne is a lovely host and her home has a beautiful aesthetic and a relaxed atmosphere. The shower room is perfect, the breakfast was just what we needed and Mary-Anne and her dogs allowed my eccentric friends to perform their exercises in her gorgeous kitchen. What more can you ask?

  • Mary-Anne was incredibly warm and welcoming to us. The flat was incredibly clean and tidy with some fantastic decoration. Great place to stay for weddings and events locally.

  • It was our first bnb and Anne Mary and Sam were helpful and very friendly. We had everything we need and the rooms were very clean. Our children love the dogs and the cat. The breakfast was great and the pub next door was delicious.
