Retreat to an inviting living space decorated in neutral hues. Morning light fills this 18th century property which features exposed brick walls and sloping ceilings. Recline on the beige corner sofa for stunning views of the Oxfordshire countryside.
  • We enjoyed our stay in this gorgeous escape. The light that fills the barn is simply gorgeous. We cooked dinner in twice and breakfast once, having everything we needed to do this. Just what we needed this weekend.

  • Really beautiful barn with amazing high ceilings and lots of light. Comfortable furniture throughout and the kitchen is genuinely one of the best equipped kitchens of any Airbnb or cottage that I have ever rented. The bread, milk and butter in the fridge was a lovely touch and much appreciated. Friendly and welcoming hosts who have put so much thought into this property which really shows - there was a feeling of quality throughout.

  • Beautiful converted barn, felt very homely and contemporary. Host Henry was very accommodating about us having to arrive beyond the check in time due to work. We had a very enjoyable stay, a perfect get away weekend after a stressful couple of months. We visited local area of Burford which was very pretty and enjoyed a Sunday roast, would recommend. Cooking food was really easy and made a relaxing evening. Host had supplied tea, coffee, milk, butter and bread which was a lovely touch and really helpful.

  • We had a wonderful weekend at Henry and Rachel's place which is a very stylish barn conversion in beautiful countryside. The weather prevented us from doing all of the walking that we had planned and so it was wonderful to have such a lovely home to retreat to and relax whilst the gales were blowing outside.

  • Henry’s Barn was a lovely location for a few nights away. I was greeted by Henry who explained everything and the barn was lovely and homely

  • Such a lovely stay at this Airbnb. Perfect weekend away. Great recommendations of what to do and Henry was very welcoming

    Georgie2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • Thank you Henry for a restful and very enjoyable stay. A great way for us to start 2020.

    Peter2020-01-04T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed at Henry’s barn between Christmas and new year and it was such a gorgeous home from home. The barn is stunning and so comfortable we felt very at home. The location is great we ate at some local pubs and enjoyed some time out in Oxford and went to see Waddesdon Manor. Thank you to Henry and his family for the warm welcome we will certainly be keeping this place in mind for future short breaks.

Uffington village is one of chalk-block houses and thatch, at the foot of the White Horse Hills. The parish church is known as "The Cathedral of the Vale". The village is in the middle of the Vale of the White Horse, otherwise known as the Ock Valley. Like most parishes in the Vale, Uffington parish is long and thin, running north-south, so that it includes both low-lying arable land and grazing upland on the Berkshire Downs. The River Ock forms most of its northern boundary. The western boundary runs up across Dragon Hill, Whitehorse Hill, Uffington Down and the gallops on Woolstone Down before turning north again as the eastern boundary across Kingston Warren Down and Ram's Hill, almost to Fawler and partially along Stutfield Brook. The parish formerly included Baulking and Woolstone The poet Sir John Betjeman (1906–84) lived in the village in the 1930s. Thomas Hughes (1822–96), author of Tom Brown's Schooldays, was born in the village. The village school mentioned in the book survives as Tom Brown's School Museum, with exhibits on Thomas Hughes, the Uffington White Horse, and other local subjects.
  • Leanne place is beautiful and we had a peaceful amazing stay

    Matthew2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely place in a lovely area! The best shower and so cosy with the fire. It’s just what me and partner needed Leanne was great! Little touches made our stay. Thanks again :)

  • Lovely cottage that was clean, well equipped and newly refurbished. Host was quick at responding and catered well to our needs, as and when.

    Bryony2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • Our second visit and we enjoyed returning to our favourite Airbnb. This time we made sure we got to white horse hill and took a circular walk from the village. Leanne’s place always feels like home from home and is where we like to spend a cosy night in the bed is so comfortable it’s hard to leave. Thanks Leanne for our valentine’s fizz and making our stay feel extra special!

    Louise2020-02-15T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful retreat in a countryside village, really nice features made all the cosier by the log burner. Leanne is a very thoughtful and considerate host. Highly recommend staying here!

    Laura2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • My second visit and it was even better than the first. I will be back again, I think that says everything about a fantastic host and Walnut.

    David2020-01-28T00:00:00Z
  • Loved the log fire, loved how Leanne was so hospitable but yet still respected our privacy. The barn was so beautiful and well equipped. Thank you for welcoming us into your beautiful home xxx

    Debbie2020-01-19T00:00:00Z
  • This is a home from home. A penthouse suite with personal touches. The accommodation was so good we had to force ourselves to go out as all we wanted to do was curl up in front of the log burner. Leanne is a superb host that helped us with the most unexpected issue. I cannot recommend a stay more highly.

As an experienced super host I've learnt our annex's blend of comfort and style ensures guests return to us regularly. I make sure there are plenty of supplies in our well equipped modern kitchenette, fluffy dressing gowns for relaxing in before going out and toiletries of exceptional quality. Our annex is minutes from Faringdon town centre for great local food and drink, a stone's throw from countryside walks and a bus ride to Oxford for culture and shopping. A warm welcome awaits you!
The accommodation is private and tranquil. Our price remains the same regardless of the time of year you visit - and there are no extra costs. It has its own entrance with a key-safe so you can come and go as you please. The kitchenette has an oven, hob, toaster, kettle, fridge, pans and everything else you might need (including, tea, coffee, sugar, milk, bread, eggs, cereals and snacks). The large bedroom has a very comfortable, real double bed, a table to eat or work, storage space and its own ensuite (with power shower). You also have your own outside space with table and chairs, ideal for alfresco dining. The annex is part of our family home so we are usually at hand to answer questions and if not there are plenty of brochures to help you plan and discover all that Oxfordshire has to offer. We're a short drive to Bristol, Bath and Cheltenham, so ideal if you want to explore further afield. We love baking cakes in our house, so you’re very likely to get a slice or two during your stay. We look forward to meeting you!
Our 1970s detached house is on the edge of The Pines and Canada Lane in Faringdon. Behind the house is a path that, within a few seconds, takes you into the beautiful Oxfordshire countryside. A few minutes in the opposite direction you'll find the town centre's friendly pubs, restaurants and shops.
  • Great stay!

    Alec2020-03-06T00:00:00Z
  • It was a perfect stay. The annex was cozy, warm and sparkling clean. Lizzie made sure to check us in and showed around and was responsive all the time. There are nice touches that made our stay nicer such as organic/natural bathroom amenities and items for a quick breakfast. The Wifi was fast and there is also Netflix and other steaming options. There is a designated park space to comfortably park your car.

New self-contained detached annexe with its own private entrance. Lovely living space with kitchen, lounge and dining area, separate bedroom and bathroom. Off-street parking, sofabed in lounge area, Smart TV, wifi.
The property is 2 minutes walk from the centre of the town. Faringdon has some lovely local pubs and places to eat - La Bobina - Spanish Tapas & Wine Bar is particularly good as is the Viceroy Indian that does takeaway as well.
  • This accommodation provides clean and comfortable stay. Suitable for a travelling couple as Cotswold is easily accessible. Oxford and Stratford-upon-Avon are also within a good commuting distance. We had a car and managed to travel whole of the Cotswold in two days. The town offers all necessary amenities should you wish to stay locally in the evenings. Tim provided us with all the relevant information and therefore we didn’t need to contact him during our stay

  • Amazing place. Really beautiful and clean cabin; looks brand new! The bed was beautifully comfortable with a duvet to die for. The space was more than big enough for a couple, and the hot tub was amazing. We didn’t see or hear anyone, and the privacy of the cabin was excellent. Beautiful area with a gorgeous walk to the old fashioned pub. Honestly what an amazing steal!

  • If you are in this area look no further what a great cabin and great value too. Me and my partner had such a comfortable relaxed weekend here. Upon arrival we checked ourselves in which was very easy and convenient the place was absolutely immaculate. Lisa was great with communication from the moment I booked the place and very friendly and helpful throughout our stay (she also made sure we knew how to work the hot tub and had no issue with us using it where this has been a problem at other places we have been before). This is a must stay you will not regret the decision.

    Stephen2020-01-26T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay at the Cosy Cabin was absolutely brilliant. Lisa is fantastic, a very warm welcome and an all round lovely lady. The cabin is beautiful, everything we needed was there. We will be returning without a doubt. From start to end, it was perfect. We didn’t want to leave!

He is a very nice and friendly person. Would definitely recommend this house. Also, he was very attentive to details, he left the house all to ourselves and also offered us some breakfast in the morning.

    Devishta2020-02-24T00:00:00Z
  • Spent two night at Anthony's place and it was great. Anthony was really responsive and helpful re: arrival times, and also included fresh bread, biscuits, and a few other foodstuffs which were a really nice touch. We squeezed three people in, but it's the perfect size for two really. Exposed brickwork and beams are a nice touch and show the character of the building. Anthony also very kindly sent back a necklace that we left there; thanks Anthony!

We are a non smoking property. Sorry, no pets. East Challow is just outside the pretty market town of Wantage. Wantage itself is famous for being the birth place of Alfred the Great- an ancient king of England. It is also within easy reach of The Ridgeway and the world famous White Horse at Uffington. It is also known as being in the heart of the horse racing industry with many well known stables in the Wantage and Lambourn area. East Challow is approximately 20 miles from the university city of Oxford with good road and public transport links. As hosts we don't tend to interact with the guests other than showing the guests to the room and explaining the facilities that are available. However we live in the house and so will be on hand to answer any questions and advise on local amenities should this be a requirement. East Challow is an interesting village with lots of local walks. The people are very friendly and there are many local pubs in the surrounding area offering a variety of good food and drink. A local bus can be caught to take you into Wantage. An express service to Oxford can be taken from there. From Oxford, London can be reached in about two hours on the bus. London can also reached in about an hour on the train from Didcot which is about 6 miles from Wantage. I also have a number of taxi numbers should this be a requirement.
East Challow is an interesting village with a pretty church and lots of local walks. The reclamation yard (Haynes of Challow) sells a variety of new and used items and is great for a browse. There is no pub in the village, but surrounding villages and the nearby town of Wantage (1.5 miles ) provide plenty of places to eat and drink. Nearby Wiliam's formula one (2.5 miles) Lains barn wedding venue ( 3 miles) The Ridgeway (3 miles) White Horse Hill (6 miles) Harwell (7.5 miles) Didcot parkway railway station (10 miles) Oxford (17 miles) Cotswolds (approx 20 miles) Bicester village outlet centre (27 miles) Central London (70 miles)

    Gaurav2020-03-06T00:00:00Z
  • I stayed at Karen’s small studio per almost three weeks. I have to say that it is the first time i have such an amazing experience. Starting from the host attention and help. Karen is a very nice and kind person. She tried to be there all the time taking care of things in order to make me feel like home. The studio is very good, clean and cosy. It has everything one needs for a short or long stay. The location is good with buses (it depends where you wanna go). In my case, i was in UK for work, thus i had to be more careful about the bus connections to harwell campus. Otherwise you can have a nice walk to the town where you can find stores, restaurants, museums and buses to Oxford, harwell, didcot... etc. I will extremely recommend this place.

    Rosa2019-12-15T00:00:00Z
  • Karen was a fantastic host, and this was a lovely place to stay as our first weekend away as a family of three. Everything we needed, and Karen was on hand for tips and help the whole time! Thank you for a lovely weekend.

    Sarah2019-11-24T00:00:00Z
  • Karen's place had everything I needed for my stay. I really enjoyed it.

    Mauro2019-11-01T00:00:00Z
  • The studio is cozy and comfortable and we had a great weekend. It's a great base to explore the downs and there are some nice places to eat just a short drive away - we would definitely follow Karen's recommendation of the Greyhound!

    Jonathan2019-10-20T00:00:00Z
  • Thank you Karen for the stay, your place was perfect for my work trip. Really easy check in/out, warm and cozy, bathroom and kitchen super clean and full of everything you need utensils wise to cook dinners/ lunches. Wifi connection was great and a nice big tv to chill in front of after a days work. The best touch was the mugs with kitkats on welcome ready for a big cuppa after a long drive!

    Jennifer2019-09-15T00:00:00Z
  • Karen’s place was truly amazing! She’s a great host and has a perfect sized flat for a traveling couple.

  • This property is a fantastic place to stay with a wonderful welcome from Karen. The studio apartment was spotless and was well equipped with everything you could possibly want or need. It was the perfect hub for us to visit family in Didcot for a couple of days. I couldn't recommend this place enough and hope to visit again in the future!

We are happy to advise on good places to eat. We are just over a mile from the historic market town of Wantage - birthplace of Alfred the Great. The town boasts many shops, pubs, cafes and restaurants, including Chinese, Indian and Thai. The Bear hotel in the square serves an excellent Sunday lunch! The well known wedding venue of Lains Barn is a short distance away, as is the head quarters of Williams Grand Prix Racing and Ardington Crafts school. We are within easy reach of the Ridgeway and the world famous White Horse Hill. East Challow is approximately 20 minutes from the university city of Oxford and about an hour away from some of the most beautiful villages in the Cotswolds.

  • We had a lovely stay in the cottage with our 2 children (aged 7 and 9). It's a nice tranquil space. It gave us the rest we longed for. There is plenty to see and explore in the neighbourhood. The cottage is very well equipped (great kitchen!) and has a very good wifi connection. But the thing we liked most was perhaps the little wood stove to give us lovely cosy winter nights. Hope to return one day...

Pretty, welcoming and freshly decorated room with en-suite bathroom in ground floor annexe of this charming period house. We are on the edge of the picturesque market town of Faringdon which is 30 minutes drive from Oxford, regular buses between Oxford & Swindon are a 5-minute walk away and Sudbury House Hotel round the corner.
King-size bed with delicious white cotton sheets and pillowcases plus tea/coffee making facilities. En-suite bathroom with shower over bath. The room and its en-suite bathroom are accessed through the main house and are on the ground floor. We share the house with a cat, and our grown-up children when they are occasionally here. There isn’t a TV in the room but good WiFi. Parking is on-street.
We are right on the edge of this pretty historic town backing on to fields and next to the public footpath going up the hill to the famous Faringdon Folly, from the top of which you can see 5 counties! Faringdon is in the ancient Vale of the White Horse with opportunities for walks to White Horse Hill and along the Ridgeway or, in the other direction, along the Thames Path, with excellent local walks from the door. Also well-placed for visiting Oxford, the Cotwolds, Blenheim, Kelmscott Manor, Buscot Park, Swindon Outlet Centre – Faringdon is central for many outings! The town itself has a good selection of pubs, cafés & restaurants including the excellent & lively tapas-serving restaurant, La Bobina (booking essential), and round the corner from us, the top-drawer Sudbury House Hotel which offers excellent food in the Magnolia Brasserie.
  • Margaret is a wonderful hostess and her home is very comfortable and excellent value for money. I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for somewhere to stay in the area

  • A warm welcome, all the facilities you could wish for, a very comfortable bed and quiet surroundings for a super nights sleep. Delicious breakfast.

    Roger2019-11-13T00:00:00Z
  • Margaret and her family made me feel very welcome in their home. They have a lovely double room on the ground floor with a very comfortable bed. The place was spotless with lovely touches such as fresh flowers on the window sill. It's well worth the walk up the hill behind the house to the folly, you'll be rewarded with wonderful views. I would definitely recommend staying here.

    Victoria2019-09-06T00:00:00Z
  • Margaret's place is a true home from home, house is old but beautiful, room and ensuite bathroom are very comfortable, perfect hosts.

    John2019-08-28T00:00:00Z
  • A private but small, comfortable space in a lovely house with good hosts. Bathroom with shower was great. Tea coffee and fresh milk welcome. Our host made fresh sourdough for breakfast which was great! The only downside was the bed comprised 2 odd single beds put together to make a double which meant we were sleeping on different levels! But saying that we still slept well! There was not a lot of space to put suitcases in the bedroom. Saying all that I would definitely recommend this accommodation to anyone wanting to stay in Faringdon. Thank you Margaret!

    Carolyn2019-08-27T00:00:00Z

*During the COVID-19 crisis, we have turned instant book setting off and are only considering key-worker and essential stays. Please send an inquiry for us to approve. Head off on a scenic country stroll to a local heritage site, then step into the rolltop bath for a relaxing evening soak. Patterned rugs, warm tones, and a log burner beckon for cosy evenings in at this restored period abode with historic charm.
Churchyard Cottage has been renovated and decorated to the highest standards whilst retaining its characteristic beauty and charm. Relax by the log burner and ease and soak your muscles after a long days walk in the rolltop bath...! The cottage is set within easy walking or travelling distance to some of the country’s most popular heritage sights and attractions – such as: White Horse Hill, Wayland’s Smithy, Stone Henge, Roman Baths in Bath, The Cotswold’s, the City of Oxford and more… Its privacy, seclusion and superb location are so necessary for the perfect romantic break and are ideally offset by the closeness of facilities in and around the village of Ashbury. Fantastic Public House – The Rose & Crown Pub is just a stone’s throw away from the cottage and has been reviewed highly by many of our previous quests on how friendly the staff are and how great the food/service is making this an additional perk to their stay. Sleeps 2.
This quiet street sits next to St Mary the Virgin church in the charming village of Ashbury. The Rose and Crown pub is minutes' walk away and the Ridgeway is on the doorstep, renowned for fantastic walks and described as Britain's first road.

This immaculately clean secluded cottage really does have everything you could want if in need of a city escape. Exquisitely designed, the cottage is located outside a classic country village (Little Coxwell) and has numerous lovely walks in the surrounding area.
The Hemmel is filled with classic character - from the exposed beams and stone walls, to the original well (safely 'capped') located in the courtyard garden. The interior is cool and contemporary and provides luxurious accommodation: the twin bedroom and separate family shower room are simply but very tastefully presented. However, the standout feature in this lovely cottage has to be the master bedroom suite, where you can laze in the glorious roll top bath in the corner of the bedroom and admire the Oxfordshire countryside in the fields surrounding the cottage. The cottage represents the perfect choice for families or friends looking to get away from it all. On the doorstep you have wonderful walks and the quiet Cotswolds. There are 3 supermarkets less than 2 miles from the cottage. With Oxford about 25 mins drive away and the shoppers paradise of MacArthur Glen 30 mins away, you have got everything for a great break in a superb self catering home. If additional accommodation is required, The Hemmel can be booked along with The Linhay to give enough space for 10 guests in 5 bedrooms.

There was everything we needed for our stay and it is clear that the owners have spent a lot of time and attention to detail in furnishing the property. Bourton itself is a quiet and peaceful village which is well located for exploring the Cotswolds. We visited the Cotswolds Wildlife Park which our son loved and lots of nice country pubs nearby. We would definitely stay again!

There were so many great touches to this barn, like the wood burner that kept us warm in the comfy living room, and the beautiful floor-to-ceiling windows at the very front. The bedrooms were both amazing, and all of the bathrooms were beautiful and sparkling clean! The host was very attentive and made sure we had no problems during our stay.

Our beautiful shepherd's hut is stylishly decorated and comfortable, with a small kitchenette; en-suite bathroom complete with modern shower; and a woodburner for those cooler evenings. Set in 3/4 acre of open grassed space with a wooded backdrop and views of the Ridgeway, the tranquil and peaceful setting will really allow you to relax, especially while luxuriating in the wood fired hot tub. Located on a working arable farm, the owners are discretely available should you need any help.
The hut is powered by solar panels and leisure batteries, therefore while you will be able to charge mobile devices, other electrical items such as hairdryers will not be operable. The water is heated by LPG gas. There is no vehicular access to the glamping area, please be aware that we will need to meet you upon check in and take you to the site - your car will remain safe at the farm!
Located at the foot of the Ridgeway, there are numerous beautiful walks in the locality, and a footpath crosses through the farm with access to local villages.
  • Amazing secluded location. Joanna was a great host, very helpful a.d loved all the finishing touches. The hut was extremely private within a beautiful rural area. The accommodation itself was brilliant and would definitely go back.

The shepherd’s hut is beautifully presented and equipped with everything needed for a stress free glamping break. Host Joanna is very friendly and welcoming, nothing is too much trouble. We particularly enjoyed the wood fired hot tub and cooking on the kadai, al fresco dining at it’s finest! We would wholly recommend a stay here. Thank you Joanna, I feel sure we’ll be back!

  • The shepherds hut was even better than we expected! The hut is immaculate and you can really tell Joanna has taken the time to really think about everything you need to make your stay comfortable. The location really is unbeatable. • What an amazing, magical place! Me and my girlfriend absolutely loved every moment of this stay, and Joanna was more than welcoming making this such a wonderful experience. We can’t wait to come back again! It was perfect and the views in the morning were amazing, especially as we got to see loads of wildlife whilst we ate breakfast outside. Definitely recommend!

A garden flat in a modern German designed house. Spacious rooms, high ceilings and floor to ceiling windows with all living areas having direct access to the garden.
On the scarp edge of a small quiet village, with amazing views. Two miles from a relatively remote area of the river Thames, with easy walking access. The oldest bridge on the Thames, at Radcot, is 3 miles away. Yet easy access to civilisation and all the amenities of major cities such as Oxford and Swindon. The village is served by a regular bus service to both Oxford and Swindon. Bus stop is 5 mins walk.
This is a peaceful village with a useful Indian /Thai restaurant (or takeaway) on the main road.
  • The flat was absolutely beautiful, spacious, immaculately clean, modern and perfect for 2 weeks of relaxation and adventure. Beautiful and quiet location with easy access to public transportation. Our host was most welcoming, very friendly, responsive, and exceeded all of our expectations. It was the most comfortable home away from home with fully equipped entertainment system. Perfect airbnb stay.

Set in the heart of Coleshill Organics’ seven acre walled fruit and veg garden. This romantic retreat has a cosy king size bed, a wood burner, a bathroom with shower, loo and sink, a fully equipped kitchen and access to the most delicious organic fruit and vegetables. Sitting out area with bbq and a door Opening opposite the pub. Wake up to birdsong or freshly picked strawberries. Go wild swimming just three miles away, walk the ridgeway or the d’arcy Dalton way. Light a fire inside or out.
This is an enclosed garden so, although in the middle of the village, no immediate neighbours.
  • Absolutely beautiful setting in a walled garden opposite the veggie patches - it was a very chilly day when we arrived and we were worried we would be cold but after the fire got going we were sooo toasty! Our host was so welcoming and helpful. There is a lovely pub literally next door where we had very nice meal. Great stay! 🌷

    Holly2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • Even on a stormy February weekend, it was the most relaxing, cosy retreat. The nearby pub served a good Valentines' meal. Huge admiration for the hard work that goes into working on growing delicious, organic veg on this scale. ...an amazing location.

    Sue2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • This is a caravan type setting in a walled organic farm in a National Trust village inW Oxfordshire. The accommodation is amazingly clean, well fitted and warm and so quiet. The view is lovely. Sonya added nice touches like milk, butter and jam in the fridge. There is a welcoming pub just a 5 min walk away. Highly recommended to a location for walking in vale of White Horse and Ridgeway

  • We had a great stay in the hut over New Year’s Eve. It is in a lovely little village with lots of nice walks nearby and a good little pub literally a stone’s throw away. You have everything you need in the hut and when you get the fire going it is really cosy.

    Joe2020-01-01T00:00:00Z
  • Great getaway for the weekend! Lovely little hut with everything you need and gorgeous views. Recommend exploring neighbouring Highworth and the Saturday market and the Radnor Arms is a must do

  • What a magnificent place, what an estate, the Garden, the Wagon. We couldn't imagine a better place to have a 4 day brake in stressed life. The communication with Sonia was delightful, everything was even better then we imagined. Ah - you also need to try organic food grown in the Garden - it is soooo delicious. Highly recommended!!

I have two double rooms available with a private bathroom. I provide towels and toiletries (shampoo, conditioner, shower gel and bubble bath). There are tea and coffee making facilities in one of the rooms. I also treat you to delicious homemade cake too! There isn’t a TV in either room but there is WiFi access. On street parking is available.
Guests have access to the bedrooms (with tea and coffee making facilities) and a private bathroom.
There are lots of great places to eat and drink in the town. For the evening, I would highly recommend ‘La Bobina’ for tapas and ‘The Bell’ for tasty pub grub. Both within walking distance. For breakfast, Mollie’s Diner for pancakes and waffles! A short car journey. For a mid morning or afternoon treat, ‘Stay Grounded’ for coffee and cake! A short walk away.
  • Very clean and tidy rooms, comfy beds and crisp linen. Lisa is lovely, very informative and helpful with us trying to find places to eat on our work trip. Would definitely stay again if the need arises! And her two Jack Russell’s are adorable!

  • Julia & her husband gave us a warm friendly welcome in their outstanding, comfortable home.. it's in a pleasant, quiet location with countryside views..we had a good night's sleep..!! The bedroom was tastefully presented, comfy bed & immaculate en-suite. Loved all the extra personal details.. homemade biscuits were yummy..!! Thank U Julia Breakfast was a bonus, helped ourselves & enjoyed it in the conservatory overlooking fields to the White Horse of Uffington & Marlborough Downs. Only regret was that we were on a very brief visit to the area so could only stop over one night.. hopefully longer next time..!l

  • Beautiful property. The room was comfortable, spotless and beautifully furnished. We appreciated the breakfast.

    Sue2019-09-15T00:00:00Z
  • The perfect Airbnb experience! My fiance and I were in the area for a wedding and needed a room with parking for one night. Julia's home couldn't have been better. The room was extremely comfortable, stylish and spotlessly clean, with a very comfy bed and beautiful bathroom - plus really thoughtful little touches such as bottled water, tea and coffee (and biscuits!). Julia and her husband Alan were also outstanding hosts - even being kind enough to give us a lift to the wedding so we didn't have to fork out for a taxi! We were also given a key to come and go as we pleased and invited to help ourselves to breakfast the next day. It felt more like staying with incredibly welcoming friends than in an Airbnb - we'd certainly come back again if we are in the area, and would have no hesitation recommending Julia's place to others.

    Lara2019-09-08T00:00:00Z

Elspeth in a considerate and generous host, providing home-baked bread and enough breakfast treats to last us the whole stay. Perfection!

  • Elspeth is such a wonderful host and made us feel at home very quickly. The property is absolutely stunning and so peaceful, the perfect place to get away from it all! The swimming pool is amazing and the property has a authentic yet stylish feel to it. We would 100% recommend to anyone looking to spend some time in the English countryside!

    Li-An2019-07-26T00:00:00Z
  • We had a lovely long weekend at Elspeth's place. The Dovecote is beautifully done, clean and well equipped with everything we could have needed, in addition to some lovely touches like Easter Hot Cross Buns and a bottle of wine chilling in the fridge. The outside space was both private & idyllic - perfect on what was a hot and sunny weekend. As a host Elspeth was communicative and friendly and accessible if needed, but also left us to it for the weekend. I'd highly recommend The Dovecote to anyone.

    Matthew2019-04-22T00:00:00Z
  • What a beautiful place! Not only was the Dovecote special, the whole property was gorgeous. Love the beautiful chalk stream and cheeky squirrel. Elspeth was very welcoming and on hand for anything we needed including booking at the local pub. The fridge was full of wonderful provisions and treats rarely found. The bed was comfy and Dovecote was warm and toasty. Shower was great with plentiful hot water. Letcombe Regis is a gorgeous little village with plenty of history

  • We had a fantastic week in the beautiful Dovecote. The Dovecote exceeded our expectations. Beautiful surroundings and everything needed for a delicious breakfast. Letcombe Regis is a great place to make trips to Oxford, Bristol, Bath and nice villages in Cotswolds
