Heat in cabin is a propane space heater and electric space heater. Overlooking small pond. Close to snowmobile trail, 4-wheeler trails, horse trails and the Pigeon River State forest. I-75 does run along side of property, but has a tree line which blocks the sight of it.

Cabin setting in the woods. We do live on property, but give guests privacy. Gaylord is a short 8 miles away, where there is plenty of shopping and dinning options. Petoskey, Harbor Springs, and Charlevoix are less then an hour away. Mackinaw City and Mackinaw Island are a quick hour up I75.. In the woods feel, but with quick access to all that Northern Michigan has to offer.

  • This place was great and will always be a special place to me and my better half 😁 the view was like a hallmark movie lol with the snow, pond and old barn. A great getaway for me and her for our 6yr anniversary we cooked breakfast and dinner on the porch with my griddle except for Friday night we went to the restaurant for burgers and fries, we took advantage of the fire pit and looked at the stars. The family dollar got a lot of use for things we forgot super convenient lol, hope to make it back again with kids thank you for having this place available

  • I enjoyed my stay at The Stone House. It was easy to find and in a very convenient location. My room was comfortable and quiet. The morning coffee was enjoyable and access to a fridge was appreciated! Mo was so kind and friendly. She was really concerned about my comfort.

    Cathy2019-08-02T00:00:00Z
  • Mo was welcoming, had suggestions about things to do in the area and gave an two sided information sheet about the area's history, her home's history, places to eat and things to do. My accommodations were very comfortable. she was a gracious host.

  • Super cozy room with a beautiful view! Waking up every morning to the sun coming through the greenery was a great way to start my morning. Adorable room with amazing history!

    Payton2019-07-13T00:00:00Z
  • I stayed at Mo's place to take part in a bike ride in Boyne. The rooms were quite clean, and Mo had a flyer with a list of local places to eat and get necessities. She was quick to respond to any questions that I had. This is a good place to stay for trips to northern Michigan or the U.P.

  • An amazing host! went above and beyond to make sure my stay was everything I wanted it to be. The extra touches, friendly smile and wonder home. When I came back after going out for dinner the first night. Mo had a fire going in the fireplace. It smelled amazing and wand inviting and warm. thank you again Mo! I look forward to another visit in the future!

    Nancy2018-10-21T00:00:00Z
  • Great location! I went specifically to go biking, and the location could not have been more suited to that. I was able to get on my bike and get to the bike trail in less than five minutes. Mo was accommodating and quickly answered all communication. The room was clean and plenty spacious. A space heater was provided so that I could have the room at whatever temperature I wanted. The shower was typical of an older house, so the water pressure was not ideal. Overall the house was charming and I loved the location. I had a great stay

  • My co-worker and I stayed at the Shanty for 3 weeks during the winter, it was incredibly cozy. Sherri made sure that the driveway was plowed for us and that we were staying warm. The Shanty is located on Otsego Lake and is absolutely picturesque. Sherri was incredibly accommodating and quick to respond to us. The only thing that took some getting used to was the smell of the water in the Shanty, Sherri did provide a filtered water bottle so that we could use that instead for drinking and cooking. We hope to visit this cozy cabin again in the future!

  • This was the perfect little cabin for a short getaway! Feels nice and secluded while still being close to convenience.

  • Sherri’s place was as listed. Clean, close to town and well stocked would stay again without hesitation.

    Mike2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • Sherri’s cottage was the best! My husband and I and our 3 college age kids went on a winter family weekend ( 10 minute drive to Treetops ski resort from the cottage). The location is perfect. Close to town (5 mins) but you still feel very secluded at the cottage. The fireplace is a real plus! Sherri had a starter log all set up for us when we arrived and plenty of wood for the weekend. The kitchen was well stocked and we cooked a huge pot of chili in the crockpot. Our teens thought the blue tooth speaker was a nice touch. The beds and bedding were comfortable. The view of the lake is fantastic! Bring your slippers in the winter as you are in the great north! Would definitely recommend and stay again!

    Bridget2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • Sherri was an exceptional host! She went out of her way to pull us out of the snow after we got stuck on a nearby road, and with a smile the whole time! The house was very tidy and had a gorgeous view of the lake from the living room. Our group had a blast snowboarding at Boyne mountain only 25 minutes from Sherri’s cabin. The fireplace allowed us to warm up after a long day on the slopes, and Sherri provided plenty of firewood. Overall we had the best experience and highly recommend Sherri’s cabin for a vacation or weekend get away with your friends and family!

    Chloe2020-02-15T00:00:00Z
  • What a wonderful place to stay! We originally planned on a two night stay but we loved the location so much we called off work and stayed an extra night. Fireplace was so nice and cozy. We loved being able to hop into town quickly and head back for a bit no problem. We will definitely be staying again. Sherri was great and quick to answer any question. 10/10

    Zachariah2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • Adorable quirky cottage, beautiful view, fireplace and seclusion. The host was very accommodating and easy to get ahold of. The cottage floor isn’t level, if you are not sure footed or have vertigo issues this may be bothersome.

    Shae2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • We really loved Sherri's place! It is in am adorable alpine town and the alpine theme spreads to the cabin itself! It is so cute and stylish and just cozy. I cooked there and the kitchen had everything I could need. It was easy to find and has a spacious driveway. We enjoyed the view of the frozen lake behind the property, although it may be even more beautiful during the warmer months. A great place with no hiccups.

    Heather2020-01-20T00:00:00Z
  • The family just got done spending the week here for our fall break and this place is fan-freaking-tastic. A large, SUPER clean, house on a private no wake lake surrounded by woods. (fall colors were killer.) The house's 2.5 floors offered plenty of room for everyone in the family and dogs to stretch out and do or watch what they wanted when stuck inside due to weather. When not stuck inside, (hello private lake and covered wrap around deck) the location is great because of its centralized location in Northern Michigan. Close to creature comforts and grocery available at city center of Gaylord to well within an hour or less to anywhere or everything you can think of to do. Traverse City, Charlevoix, Boyne, Petoskey to the west, Indian River & inland water way and Mackinac to the North, and Atlanta (elk herd capital) & Alpena to the East! Stop debating whether this is where you should stay, just book it and start packing. The beds are comfy and hosts are great, too!

A perfect setting for making memories! A cozy cabin in the woods on Echo Lake, with bright, open living spaces. Two bedrooms and loft bedroom can accommodate 9 guests. Enjoy nearby snowmobile trails, ice fishing, skating, or go skiing at Boyne Mountain only 30 minutes away. Watch the snow fall gently on the pines as you curl up by the gas stove in the evening and enjoy a perfect winter wonderland! Also an easy 30 minute drive from Mackinaw, Petoskey, and Gaylord. Pets welcome!
Our cabin is nestled in the woods and is very private and peaceful. We have a fire pit, wood swing, row boat, kayaks, simple fishing poles, grill, and smoker available for your use. (Inflatable kayaks will be stored away November 1). Our lake is very private, and we are often the only ones on it. (Expect more on holidays). We have two bedrooms, one with a queen bed, the other with a double bed. The third bedroom is a loft bedroom with a double and twin bed, accessed by a sturdy ladder. A flat screen TV is provided, as well as a DVD player and numerous DVD's that you are welcome to use. We do not have a washer or dryer, but do provide an iron and board. We will also provide breakfast items such as coffee, tea, cereal, and oatmeal. The kitchen is well stocked with dishes, pots, pans, and silverware, and you are welcome to use the herbs and spices found in the pantry cupboard. The gas stove is working and provides great heat, as well as a cozy atmosphere!
Our cabin is ideally located for easy access to many tourist spots or outdoor activities. Whether you are interested in hiking, biking, swimming, jet skiing, hunting, snowmobiling or fishing, this is a great location to use as a home base. We are just a few minutes outside of Wolverine, a cute little town located on the Sturgeon River. The Gaylord to Mackinaw trail runs through Wolverine, and you can bike the path in the summer or snowmobile in the winter. Indian River is about 15 minutes away, with nice little shops, restaurants and a grocery store. Within 30 minutes you can get to Mackinac, Boyne City, Petoskey or Gaylord. There are state parks nearby, as well as Burt and Mullet Lake, great for water sports.
  • Just left this awesome cabin! Went snowmobiling for the weekend with a few friends. Great place to stay, plenty of parking, quiet and warm! Communication with Heidi was great and she answered all questions I had about the area! Would rent this place again!

  • We loved our stay at Heidi’s place! She had great communication before and during our stay. The cabin is beautifully rustic. The view is stunning and the fireplace in the living room makes the place so cozy!! Heidi was incredibly generous and let us stay past our check out time due to one family member being ill.

    Corinne2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • No frills, but very homey and comfortable with a gas fireplace/stove, great DVD collection and prime spot right on the lake. In the winter, definitely need 4-wheel drive. This was our second year here and we would come back a third time!

    Paul2020-02-10T00:00:00Z
  • What a great place! It was served our needs perfectly. We stayed here for the weekend while doing a winter raft trip from Sturgeon River Paddlesports! This was a great combo! Clean, cozy!

  • This was our last stop on our “up north cabin tour vacation”. This is a great and large cabin with plenty of living space. Gorgeous views of a lake from giant dramatic windows, had a great time sledding with the dogs in the backyard, and clean cabin overall. Pretty secluded and quiet, you can only see about 1-2 neighboring houses from the property. We left feeling peaceful and renewed. This place was the perfect balance of cozy and comfort. Recommend all wheel drive or 4wd in the winter, but that goes for all cabins up north. (We got stuck in our all wheel drive Subaru, but luckily got help from the first and second cars that drove past us, gotta love the people of the Midwest). Thank you again for letting us stay here, and we hope to be back soon!

    Michelle2020-01-18T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful home to get away. We will definitely be back. Thanks Heidi & Family

Cozy 700 square foot authentic log cabin right on the water!! Just steps to the beautiful 5 Lakes in Gaylord Michigan (no wake). 2 bedrooms complete with 1 Queen bed in each room with an additional twin size cot with mattress if needed. Full size kitchen complete with coffee maker (complimentary coffee), microwave, gas stove with oven and full size refrigerator . Enjoy the complimentary canoe's complete with different size life jackets. Big Buck Brewery 1 mile away. Plan your Fall Color Tour!
Peaceful waterfront cabin on the lovely 5 Lakes in Gaylord, Michigan. Complimentary canoes are available for use during your stay. The lakes are connected by channels so you can venture around the 5 Lakes area from lake to lake. Most of the area is "no wake zone" canoes, paddle boards and kayaks and small fishing boats. The area seems remote with all the wild life surrounding the area however town is only 1 mile away complete with several restaurants to choose from as well as the local favorite Big Buck Brewery. We are steps from open water so please keep a close eye on children at all times. Dog park to walk in woods 1 mile or less away but walking around the lake area with the dogs is awesome as well. Cabin has everything you need except clothes and food. Paper towels, toilet paper and clean linens and towels all stocked in cabin. Come and relax on the front porch over looking the lake and take it easy with a morning coffee or evening wine. Enclosed fire pit available no large bon fires as trees and neighbors are near. Pets allowed for a $75.00 flat fee not per day. Don't forget to plan for your upcoming Color Tour of the great Northern Michigan area.
Quiet Lake setting with few seasonal neighbors. Town, grocery store, has stations and restaurant's 1 mile away.
  • Wonderful little place on the water

    Nancy2019-09-22T00:00:00Z
  • This place was a dog friendly paradise! It was a little colder than expected at this time of year that was a bummer for being on the lake, but fall colors were amazing surrounding the lake. The lake was very peaceful, with no other boats out and about while I was there on a Saturday in early September. Having the canoes there is a big plus, without having to transport or rent your own. With Sprint I only had about 1 bar of 3G reception in most of the cabin, but supposedly it’s a lot better with Verizon. Do yourself a favor and treat yourself to a little getaway here. I’d love to see the space in all seasons if I could.

    Pooja2019-09-08T00:00:00Z
  • Cozy cabin. Angela was very informative and responsive. She was clear about what to expect and what she expected of us regarding rules, which were all very fair. The canoes were so much fun, and she even supplied us with charcoal, coffee, shampoo, and extra amenities. Would highly recommend for a cozy and quiet getaway.

    Sam2019-09-03T00:00:00Z
  • Cute and cozy cabin that is right on the water and is dog friendly. Kids lived catching frogs, using the canoes, catching catfish, making s'mores and the view is just beautiful! Not the best for swimming but we had fun! Only a few minutes from town which was nice for exploring shops, breweries and local attractions.

    Danielle2019-08-21T00:00:00Z
  • Great place. Had everything that we needed. Wonderful view and the canoe rides at sunset were amazing. Real close to everything. Nice and clean and thoughtfully well stocked. Anytime we had a question, we sent a text and got a pronto response. For the price, you can't beat it. So relaxing. And 100s of movies to watch! Cute place.

    Kathleen2019-07-22T00:00:00Z
  • Absolutely beautiful cabin. The area was very peaceful and taking the canoes out through the lake made for a good time

    Vincent2019-06-09T00:00:00Z
  • The photos are great but the cottage exceeded my expectations. We had a few glitches but they were taken care of as quickly as possible (ie: a plumber on a holiday). It’s charming & cozy. The bedroom I used was very comfortable and plenty of blankets & comforters. The view is stunning & so enjoyed my coffee on the patio just steps from the serene lake. I would wholeheartedly recommended Angela as a host!

  • Quiet, warmly welcoming, and extremely comfortable are the words that come to mind when I think of our stay at John's cabin. Nestled off the beaten path, in a pine forest outside of Vanderbilt, we were met with luxuries and comforts far beyond what we expected to have during our stay. Everything was very clean and there are many "up north" touches that make a stay there, ANY time of the year, a must do experience. John gave us our privacy but also checked in to make sure we were happy with everything and that we had everything we needed. He has truly earned the status of super host. We had plans of visiting a resort to partake in some winter time activities but we enjoyed John's cabin so much we decided to stay there, enjoy the fire, warm drinks, and a day of board games. There is no doubt we will be visiting again.

    Shane2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • Very nice , secluded, quiet wildlife area.

    Rex2020-01-26T00:00:00Z
  • Great place and awesome host. If you are looking for a cool cottage and a place in the woods this the place for you.

    Tommy2020-01-01T00:00:00Z
  • The cabin is lovely and charming - the Pigeon River State forest is fantastic. John is perhaps the most hospitable Airbnb host ever! The wine and dog treats really made us feel welcome and he graciously offered countless tips and recommendations before I even booked. Thank you!!!

    Jessie2019-12-25T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful rustic cabin back in the woods with all the modern amenities. The hosts receive a 5 star rating! They go out of their way to make sure your stay is a treasured memory. We rented the cabin for an elk hunt in the area. Upon our arrival they had a Christmas tree set up with a handmade ornament hanging on it including our name and the year. One night during our stay it snowed all night. The Host made sure a snow plow was at the cabin the next day to clean the driveway out. We were well taken care of! Wonderful experience, treasured memories, complete with a successful Elk hunt. Would highly recommend and would do again but an Elk tag is a once in a lifetime experience.

    Diane2019-12-22T00:00:00Z
  • John is a fantastic host. Extremely available and touch base with us several times during our trip to check on us. The cabin on the edge of Pigeon River State Forest was an absolute dream for our Thanksgiving this year.

    Roger2019-12-01T00:00:00Z
  • Great place to get away and relax after spending the days exploring the Pigeon River Country. The wood stove was perfect for warming up after some cold snowy hikes!

    Andrew2019-11-11T00:00:00Z
  • The cabin is rustic, cozy and secluded. Just what we were looking for. Service was spotty but we didn't care for it. There is a TV and DVD player with a selection of movies. The place is beautiful and would definitely be back in the future. John is a great host and made sure to ask every question I had.

Enjoy a beautiful setting on 3 acres of land. Watch the ducks on the pond while sipping coffee on the dock in the morning. Cozy up around a bonfire at night. The main living area bursts with light. Watch over the yard and pond from the inside of the house. Close to town: Three minutes to downtown Gaylord, 5 Minutes to Otsego Club, 10 Minutes to Treetops. The snowmobile trail is just seconds down the road.
Open concept living/dining/kitchen area. Two bedrooms. One full bath with a shower. All amenities are updated. Free high-speed internet.
The property is just North of Gaylord. The drive to town is about three minutes. Otsego Resort is about 7 minutes away; Treetops 10. It takes about 20 minutes to get to Boyne Mountain Resort. Gaylord is home to over 20 golf courses and two great ski resorts. The area is a true four season destination.
  • Very nice place!!! Caroline was easy to communicate with and her house was just as she described it. Im hoping to stay at her place in the summer months very nice location!!!

    Lenny2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great stay! We were in the area for some events at Treetops resort, which was less than 10 mins away. Easy access from the xway and only a few minute drive to downtown Gaylord. There was nothing complicated about check in, rules, or check out, everything was very simple and specific. Having Chester really made us feel at home since we left our pets at home (he is such a lover). I would stay here in the future for snowmobiling, as there was enough space for a trailer and very close to trail system.

    Jenna2020-02-24T00:00:00Z
  • Great place for our long weekend getaway. The place was very clean and well equipped with the essentials. Everything was just as described. We will certainly stay again if we are back in the area. 5-stars!

  • We really enjoyed our stay here. The cabin was very clean and perfect for our group of 5 people. The location is 25 min from Boyne Mtn and a quick drive to downtown Gaylord. We had a great weekend skiing at hanging at the cabin!

    Bethany2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • We fully enjoyed our stay with Chester and the ducks! Such a great home with lovely amenities and extra touches. Caroline was an amazing and thoughtful host and we will definitely stay again in the future.

  • Very friendly host with straight-forward house rules and directions for check-in. The place was spotless with more amenities than we needed for our stay. Very comfortable furniture/beds with plenty of entertainment and tucked away in a beautiful forest. Conveniently close to Gaylord for anything you need. Hilarious cat that you can choose to spend time with. If we are to stay in the area again, we will be back here!

This is the ultimate getaway, our happy place. We live only 1 mile away but something about this cabin feels like we traveled long and far to get here. Maybe it's the beauty of the location with its 20 mile views, or maybe it's the idea of parking the car and walking to dinner or meeting friends for a drink. Our very large family gathers here as much as possible. Stepping inside the cabin is about as relaxing as it gets.
You are welcome to use any space in the house, and any items in cupboards. Kitchen has USB ports in the outlets for charging your laptops or phones. The pool is only 50 feet from the cabin. At night, the resort lights a bonfire on the top of the hill.
Summer “musts” golf, pool or lake, cocktails, repeat :) Head downtown & shop our boutiques, (Spud Warehouse & Koukla are favorites) grab a pulled pork sandwich at The Iron Pig and then head across the street to The Snowbelt Brewery to see what they are brewing- always a large selection, usually crafted with help from the locals. Check Out White Birch Outfitters located on Main Street in downtown. Casey is a wealth of knowledge about the Alpine Village and its history. They have the COOLEST store with tons of eclectic gifts and custom designs They have bike rentals too! Call of the Wild is a personal fave of locals, its like our own "World's Largest Ball of Twine." Nightlife in downtown has grown to include quite a few bars ...the Pine Squirrel is always fun-tiki bar outside and a softball field. If walking on main street - grab a beer at TheTap Room, Snowbelt, or Alpine Tavern with awesome outdoor seating . Mary's Bar & Tim's pub are usually best as your last stop of the night 🤣 call a taxi ( we don’t have Uber) and do it all again the next day
  • We had a wonderful time at the cabin. Regan was wonderful to work with. The lodge was so cozy and everyone was great. We enjoyed our stay and look forward to returning again. The only side note is that the windows are a bit drafty so if you chill easily take your favorite blanket to cuddle up with.

    Tanya2019-12-30T00:00:00Z
  • Regan was very prompt in her communication, always immediate. The house was perfect, very clean and well put together just like the photos. Check in and out was easy and the fall colors and view were absolutely breath taking. The hosts also have a very impressive DVD collection! All around a wonderful experience.

Our host responded promptly to our requests, and provided a place that is very clean, and quiet. We love to cook, so we enjoyed the grill and the kitchen had everything. We will definitely return

The beds were very comfortable and the pool was warm and relaxing. The short distance from downtown couldn't have been better. We all loved this beautiful home with a view and can't wait to come back again soon!

  • Absolutely magnificent property. Totally secluded yet close enough drive to town. You could honestly spent a whole week just on property exploring the expansive grounds: hiking, biking, sledding, fishing, or just relaxing in the hammock. Christian couldn’t have been a more gracious host. His hospitality & kindness went above and beyond anything that was required or expected of a host. My children & I look forward to making this a yearly vacation. You will NO be disappointed!!!!! P.S. great coffee

    Lisa2020-03-14T00:00:00Z
  • This place was incredible. Acres to roam, plenty of privacy, and a fantastic cabin as home base. The host had wonderful directions and was very helpful in advance while we were preparing for the trip. We will absolutely be staying again.

    Michael2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • Cristians place is incredible! Truly a beautiful piece of property and an amazing experience. My friend said it was one of the best Airbnb’s he’s ever stayed at.

    Jessica2020-02-24T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay at the cabin was nothing short of magical! Be prepared to feel fully secluded in the best way. The cabin had everything we needed to have a romantic and cozy weekend. We built a fire and watched the snow fall outside. Cristian made us feel so welcomed and I would definitely go back! Be sure to print or save directions from Cristian before you go since you'll lose service on your way. I don't have a big car and lucky for us it there were only a few flurries, but I would definitely recommend something that can handle the snow in the winter.

The Nunda Cabin is perfect for every up north adventure. We boast a HUGE parking area that can accommodate at least 4 full sized snowmobile trailers, boat trailers, and multiple vehicles. A short road ride will take you to trail head #7 on the snowmobile trails. It's also a perfect location to make a summer day trip to Burt Lake with your trailered boat. The cabin is centrally located for some amazing day trips throughout the area. A guest book is on site to offer some ideas.
The cabin is a perfect spot to start your Snowmobile adventure (within a few miles of dirt road ride to trail head 7). Summer fun can be had with canoe/kayak/tube rentals in Wolverine.
Visiting the Thirsty Sturgeon in Wolverine is a must! Downtown Wolverine is minutes away with restaurants, a small grocery store, and a really cool place to rent toys all year long - Kayaks, Tubes, Bikes, etc. There are plenty of areas for golfing, and it's a great location for hunting on the state land, fishing on the Sturgeon, hiking, gathering mushrooms, etc. There have been many Elk sighting througout the area!
  • We had a great time up north! 4 of us stayed at the cabin, we had plenty of space. It's a central location for lots of great towns up north! We took the winter rafting tour out of Indian River, did some hiking, and enjoyed some Petosky breweries.

    Kurt2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful place to stay with your family. Kate has something for everyone from toys for the kids to ping pong table for my very competitive gang, to scenic surroundings for romantic walks. We will back again. Thank you Kate

    Patricia2020-03-02T00:00:00Z
  • This amazing location makes for a lovely vacation. It had everything we were looking forward to and more. A few of us took a cab to Mary’s tavern in town and the cab company couldn’t have been more helpful and accommodating. Kate was a fantastic host who provided every amenity to make a good ski weekend into a great one. If you choose this location you won’t be bored or disappointed.

    Billy2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • Kate’s condo is perfectly nestled on the grounds of the Otsego Resort! The space is perfect for multi-family living, with separate and distinct spaces on each floor. We spent a wonderful long weekend skiing at Otsego, and being able to be minutes from the slopes made it perfect for our mix of skiers and non-skiers. If you need a large space to host a few families for a ski weekend, this is the only place in Gaylord I would recommend!

    Rob2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • Great place, super family friendly and great for multiple families traveling together. Each floor is essentially its own suite with bathroom and multiple bedrooms. Very convenient!!

    Emily2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • This was the second time we stayed at this property and once again it did not disappoint! A lot of thoughtful details and touches throughout the house. Great place for skiing with a group. Host is very responsive and accommodating with check-in and check-out. We would absolutely stay here again.

    Jeff2020-01-26T00:00:00Z
  • Great location with accommodations for large parties. Rented from Kate for 3 years and she has always been a great host.

    Andrew2020-01-20T00:00:00Z
  • Great place in Gaylord to bring family or friends. We had 8 people and couldve accommodated many more. There's comfortable seating throughout the house and it has a relaxing, cozy feel to it. You'll feel right at home. Kate is a great host and goes the extra mile to make sure your stay is worthwhile. Highly recommended.

  • The Main House is a great place to stay - especially for a larger group. We've stayed there a couple of times now and love it. It's within walking distance of downtown but also close to the resorts. It's lovely.

  • Awesome place to stay! Very clean and glad we were able to find this place! Thanks for everything!

    Steven2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • Liz’s place is great! It has so much living space so any get together is easily accommodating to groups. The kitchen was well stocked. The beds were pretty comfy. Hot water was not even issue and we never ran out. Plus there’s a brewery that is a 7 minute walk.

    Kevin2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • Liz’s home was perfect for our group of 15. Everyone was comfortable and had their own space. The home was squeaky clean and had loads of amenities. The location is perfect for skiing, golfing, and wandering into downtown Gaylord. I highly recommend Liz’s home for your net visit to Gaylord.

  • Great place and location!

    Ben2020-01-01T00:00:00Z
  • The house was clean and had plenty of beds for everyone! We loved the large dining room table so that we could all eat together. It was a great place to stay for our family weekend ski trip. We were also able to fit in a sleigh ride!

    Rosetta2019-12-29T00:00:00Z
  • The Main House is very large and spacious. There are several bedrooms and social areas. The large dining room is incredible. Great place to stay.

    Alex2019-12-15T00:00:00Z
  • The house was very clean upon arrival. We had a group of 12 staying, and the sleeping accommodations were perfect. I would like to note only one bedroom with a queen is on the main floor, the rest of the bedrooms are upstairs and the stairs are quite steep. We had several older women staying with us but were able to make the pullout in the living room and study work for them 👍🏼 The dining room was an amazing place to gather and play games. The kitchen was stocked with any supplies you would need! Overall great experience and I would highly recommend it.

Gus's Stump There is a tranquil property that sits on a branch of the Boyne River called Gus's Stump. The property sits on 40 private acres and butts up against two nature preserves. It is a short drive to Boyne, Petosky, and Gaylord, and less than an hour to Charlevoix or Mackinac Island. The entrance to Boyne Mountain is five miles away. All of up north from the Sleeping Bear Sand Dunes to Traverse City is within reach. Delight in your stay, and please, feel at home.
Gus's Stump In Boyne Falls, Michigan, there is a tranquil property that sits on the North Branch of the Boyne River. The property is called Gus's Stump. Over the fireplace sits a lovely picture of a special tree stump nestled along the river's edge. A friend of my parents painted this picture capturing the year-round natural beauty of the property. My father and mother and many other family members and friends have found this home to be a haven from everyday life, peaceful and pristine. For some 60 years we have enjoyed the beauty of Northern Michigan and the comfort of this escape. My father purchased this property in the 1950's while playing football for the Detroit Lions. (They were repeat champions in those years). It was the perfect place for him and his mates to retreat to when they needed some down time. They had access to the finest ski areas in the state, great beaches, and an easy drive to the Upper Peninsula. Since those years the number of activities in the surrounding areas has skyrocketed while Gus's Stump has remained a sanctuary in the middle of it all. The property sits on 40 private acres and butts up against two nature preserves for literally hundreds of acres of completely undeveloped up-north nature. You can fish in the stream or sun on the large deck. A camp fire is almost a must. Gus's Stump sits in the Township of Boyne Falls. It is a short drive to Boyne, Petosky, and Gaylord, and less than an hour to Charlevoix or Mackinac Island. The entrance to Boyne Mountain is exactly five miles away. All of up north from the Sleeping Bear Sand Dunes to Traverse City is within reach. We want to share this treasure with you. You will find the entire property newly renovated. Your time away will be as peaceful as you image it and as exciting as you want it to be. Delight in your stay, and please, feel at home.
  • We have enjoyed Gus' Stump for two years in a row now- for an annual ski weekend with our family. It is a cozy cottage in the woods, but conveniently located for Boyne Mountain ski resort. We loved arriving to a gift of local chocolates, and a gas fire place that is warm, beautiful and easy-peasy. We were blessed with good snow, and Jeff and Debbie had our backs with a daily driveway plow, plus a shovel and salt on hand. This was a true get-away (no internet service). After skiing we enjoyed tucking in with a large selection of movies saved on their entertainment system, lots of games to choose from, and long walks under the stars with our dog. The beds were super comfy, and the kitchen had all that we needed. We'll be back next year!

    Jane2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • This was our second time at Gus’s Stump. Jeff and Debbie are the best hosts ever! Love the way they include our pets as part of our family. The place has everything we need for two families with teens. We cooked breakfast and dinner every night for a hungry crowd of skiers. It’s nice being only 10 minutes from the mountain so we could pick up and drop off the skiers. The beds are so comfy. Thanks to Jeff and Debbie for all the thoughtful touches, including all the shampoo, soap, dish detergent, laundry detergent, coffee fixings, etc. This is the perfect ski cabin!

    Lara2020-01-20T00:00:00Z
  • Jeff and Debbie are the perfect hosts. Their cabin is obviously well-loved and is beautifully maintained. It is the perfect location for all the fun that Northern Michigan offers in the winter. We were able to drive to the local ski resort in minutes. Jeff and Debbie responded to our questions quickly and gave great recommendations. The cabin is spotless and very cozy. This is a wonderful place to stay!

    Amy2020-01-13T00:00:00Z
  • This place is INCREDIBLY clean, by anyone's standards!!! The space is very, very convenient. We never lacked for anything during our stay. The hosts have thought of everything! They REALLY seem to genuinely care about your experience. My family of 5 stayed here for some skiing. Everyone loved the cabin and property. Even my wife rated it a perfect 10 (quite a statement!) Plenty of room, and the two bathrooms are a big plus. Everyone said their bed was very comfortable. The cabin is laid out very nicely, and it is surprisingly quiet, compared to other cabins we have rented. The creek was probably my favorite part. I kept my bedroom window open just so I could hear the waterfall. Super convenient to Boyne Mountain, restaurants, etc. I have been using rental sites for about 5 years now, and this has been my very best experience...by far! Super (-duper) hosts!!!! Thank you!!!!!!!!!

    William2019-12-30T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely, cozy cabin with charming family history! We had fun seeing photos of Gus and family, and imagining the cabin throughout the decades. We wonder how the stump was dubbed “Gus’s”!! Beautiful stream provided a peaceful backdrop for morning coffee, outdoor games, and family photos. The house had everything we needed. We loved the easy to use fireplace. Jeff and Debbie were fantastic hosts with fast, clear communication and obvious care for their guests’ experience. Thanks for providing a cozy space for our getaway!

    Crystal2019-10-12T00:00:00Z
  • What more could you ask for? Gus’s stump is absolutely perfect! We found the house in spotless condition. Jeff made sure that every question was answered and every need was taken care of. He was overly generous with our dog and made sure she had special treats and notes! The cabin is remote enough to enjoy the sounds of nature but close enough for short trips to Petoskey, Boyne City, Harbor Springs and Charlevoix. We took 5 of our 6 children with us and had plenty of space and tranquility! There is something to be said for getting away and disconnecting and this cabin is perfect for it! We cannot wait to visit again!!

    Jamie2019-08-04T00:00:00Z
  • What an inviting, rustic experience Gus’s Stump was for us. Everything was so comfortable. We made a bonfire and saw a bajillion stars. Enjoyed the coffee that was in the fridge. Boyne City, Petoskey, Charlevoix and Harbor Springs: we did it all. Lost a few golf balls at the Monument course at Boyne, but the views were breathtaking. Really enjoyed Cafe Sante nearby and the Friday Night music in Boyne City. Even took a dip in the Boyne River. Also breakfast at Betty’s. Overall a wonderful vacation experience. We’ll be back.
