  • Lovely room, excellent location. Tom was really helpful and went the extra mile.

  • I could not have been happier with my stay here. Tom was the most accommodating Airbnb host I have ever had. I got sick right before arriving and didn’t want to share a bed with my friend I was tracking with for fear of giving it to her. So Tom made up a beautiful second bed for us that was just as cute at the official real bed already there. This was so helpful. Really saved our trip. The room was stunning, location is perfect, and check in was smooth. Would give 6 stars if I could.

  • My mum and dad enjoyed their stay very much. They loved the interior design and attention to details. The hosts were very quick to respond and helpful. Thank you!

  • Great location, about 5-10 minute stroll to the high street. Lovely studio apartment, couldn’t want more for a weekend break with other half!!

    Charly2020-03-02T00:00:00Z
  • Absolutely fantastic place! Quick walk to the middle of town, all the sights, and the train station but just far enough away to be on a quiet street. Gorgeous, clean apartment. Tom was a wonderful host - flexible with the check-in and made it extremely easy to get in ourselves and let us know the best spots to get dinner. Everything about this place made our trip perfect - hope we make it back & can stay here again! :)

  • Wonderful location, very close to all you need.

    Dean2020-02-22T00:00:00Z
  • This lovely place is cozy, clean and it got all the amenities that one might need to have a good couple of days in a lovely town such Winchester, the flat is located within 5 minutes from the centre and is very quiet, also the host Tom will replay within a few minutes any enquiries at all, no matter the simple or silly things that you have in mind. I absolutely recommend people to take advantage of this beautiful place. Luis

  • Such a chic place to stay that sets the tone for a stay in charming refined Winchester. Stylish classic oriental decor in a self contained space that makes expert use of the size with lots of big shiny mirrored surfaces. Lots of special touches, easily found in the apartment’s nooks and crannies, from a multitude of herbal teas to luxury skincare and essentials like phone charging cables at arms reach. Thanks for making us feel so indulged Tom! Would absolutely stay again to make a weekend getaway in Winchester that little bit more special.

Our house is a pretty Victorian terrace, situated in Hyde. It is well located for visiting the town centre and many of the beautiful landmarks of Winchester. The city centre is within easy walking distance, 10 - 15 minutes, with the train station a 5 minute walk. A great stop for cyclists and walkers, there is no garage but bike's may be left inside the house overnight. There are several pubs within a stone's throw and a large number of restaurants and coffee bars all within walking distance.
Bedroom 2 is a comfortable single room beautifully decorated, overlooking the pretty courtyard garden and St.Bartholomew's church. Bedroom 2 is only available on the same booking as bedroom 1 (i.e for one family or group).
The area of Hyde is historically rich and has become a place name synonymous with King Alfred the Great, whose bones were moved to Hyde Abbey in 1110. Winnall Moors Nature Reserve is very close by and on walking through it seems difficult to believe you are right next to the centre of town!
  • Fabulous AirnB’er! You couldn’t want for anything more!

  • I had a lovely stay with my hosts, Henny and her mother, and couldn't have been made more welcome. The accommodation was clean and warm, and provided everything I needed, and the bed was very comfortable, so I slept very well too. It is about 5 minutes walk to the centre of Winchester, and not much further to the station so very well located. I look forward to staying there again when I'm in Winchester. I would thoroughly recommend it to others.

The annexe is a newly refurbished cosy oasis hidden in the heart of central Winchester. It’s a completely private en-suite bedroom in a quiet leafy cul-de-sac. The theatre and many of Winchester’s best restaurants are right on your doorstep. The train station and High Street are a 5 minute walk away. 5 minutes in the other direction and you can be in Winnall Moors nature reserve.
The annexe is compact yet perfectly equipped to provide the comfort and amenities you need to enjoy your short break. A comfortable double bed with crisp clean linen and towels are provided. The space alongside the bed is clean and open with a fold out table and chairs, perfect for dining or use as a desk. The annexe benefits from an en-suite shower room with heated towel rail. Alongside the en-suite is a built in cupboard with hanging, storage space and a small fridge. On arrival you will find milk, tea & coffee and some complimentary breakfast items.
The annexe is right in the centre of Winchester, but it doesn't feel or sound like a city centre location. Marston Gate is a quiet leafy cul-de-sac situated right alongside the earth bank of the ancient city wall which provides privacy and seclusion despite being just over the road from the Theater and some of the cities best bars and restaurants. The train station and High Street are a 5 minute walk away. 5 minutes walk in the other direction past the River Park leisure centre and you can be in Winnall Moors nature reserve a beautiful spot for a walk along the river bank and over boardwalks laid in amongst the reeds.
  • The Annexe is in a fantastic location for Winchester city centre. Clean and tidy. The hosts are thoughtful and provide a sheet of recommended local restaurants which is really nice to see. Perfect for a couple's break. We would definitely come back.

    Rob2020-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • Clean, comfortable, quiet, cosy warm in winter. The space is small (as described), a well-sized bedroom with a small bathroom. Marie has added a few clever details: a small fridge and tea-making facilities with light snacks suitable for an easy breakfast. This is perfect for a short stay in Winchester - a restful space close to public transport. Would definitely stay again!

    Meghan2020-03-12T00:00:00Z
  • The Annexe is a brilliant spot located a stones throw from Winchester train station. The room is very Bright and has everything you could need it’s amazing what Maire has managed to do with the space. The room was so cosy and warm when we arrived after a long day travelling due to delayed flights and over crowded trains. Lovely touches such as gin and tonic in the fridge and an addition heater on in the room on a cold March day to greet us. Maire was my pleasant, professional and efficient to deal with as a host threw the air b&b service. I would highly recommend Maire as a host and her air b&b

  • Perfect over night stay, close to the centre of the city and the train station.

    Andrew2020-02-26T00:00:00Z

This is a garden flat, a daylight basement suite of 3 rooms of our family home. Super fast broadband. It has a front garden outlook and its own separate entrance is accessed through the rear garden, down a short but steep set of stairs. We are 10 mins walk from Winchester station. On street parking permit or one parking space when available for use of guest. Accommodation is 2 rooms and a bathroom: kitchen/diner and bed/sitting room. The wifi and all utilities are included.
The guest can use the pretty back garden to sit in the sun. There is also a corner to tuck away a bike should you want to bring one. Inside there is a comfortable double bed and an armchair. We removed the swing seat in the photo, because it was too small for adult use and replaced it with the armchair. The window looks out on the well tended front garden, with only pedestrian access to the front of the house it is very peaceful. There is a desktop by this window for those who need somewhere to sit and write. The kitchen diner is freshly painted in bright colours and makes an agreeable place to sit at the table while someone is cooking. There is a table and chairs, enough for 4 people. The bath has a hand held shower attachment for rinsing hair. The studio is part of a historic listed building and reflects this character whilst being decorated in a bright cheerful modern style.
St James Studio guest suite is in a Georgian property in a tree lined conservation area. The area is pretty, peaceful and safe with friendly neighbours, parks and 50 yards from the welcoming St James Tavern Pub, that serves good food. There are shops, pubs, restaurants and many amenities on the High Street which is 5 mins walk away. The railway is nearby, and the station only 10 mins walk. Trains can be heard a little but not intrusively. The hospital is also 10 mins walk away. The property is historic, being a listed building, and the guest suite reflects this character to some extent.
  • Fabulous flat and super location.

    Louise2020-01-02T00:00:00Z
  • Terrific place to stay. Secure and private. Very comfortable bed, nice kitchen and bathroom. Gorgeous garden on a sunny day. The flat is very close to the station and an easy walk to the High Street with its wonderful shops. Rosie is a fantastic host. Highly recommended.

    Sue2019-09-28T00:00:00Z
  • Rosie and Tim were very friendly and discreet while we were in their apartment. Tim received us when we arrived. They left us some wine, flowers and also some cheese, bread and jam since we arrived late. They even added a blowup bed for our son and some toys. We are very grateful for all that. It was very nice to stay in their studio that we enjoyed a lot during our stay in Winchester. Access to the apartment is through 3 or 4 steep steps which was not a problem for us. Just important to know in case someone has reduced mobility. I recommend it!

    María2019-07-07T00:00:00Z
  • Excellent stay in a wonderful home. The hosts were rather attentive when help was needed and rather friendly.

    Liam2019-06-29T00:00:00Z
  • This is a great little place to stay if you’re ever in Winchester. It’s quiet but a really short walk away from the train station and the town. Rosie definitely goes out of her way to make you feel welcome (and even picked me some flowers and arranged them for my arrival - such a nice touch). I’ll definitely be recommending this place to any friends looking for an ideal base when in Winchester.

    Lorna2019-05-27T00:00:00Z
  • Was a great stay. The hosts were very communicative and provided lots of info on where to park and how to get to the flat. We had a great time at Rosie's place

    Elliot2019-05-05T00:00:00Z
  • The place is very nice: clean and central. The bed is comfortable. The bathroom and the kitchen are clean. The only thing the ceiling is low. And the f you are tall that would be a problem. Thank you for the hospitality!

  • A really lovely, clean, quiet and very comfortable place to stay right in the heart of beautiful Winchester and very kind and friendly hosts.

    Kim2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • Comfortable and sparklingly clean room in a spacious house superbly located in the centre of town, Sophie and Ramin are welcoming hosts who go out of their way to make your stay go smoothly. We would definitely stay with them again

  • Sophie’s place is clean, welcoming and in a fantastic location. Sophie and Ramin were great hosts and we would definitely return!

    Abigail2020-02-15T00:00:00Z
  • It’s my second time staying at Sophie & Ramin’s Air B’n’B and it was so calming to know that whilst I was working in Winchester I had this haven to go back to. The wind & rain was howling outside and yet you’d never know it the room (with en-suite) is so cosy. Location of the room within the house is towards the back so you feel pleasantly tucked away. The room is spacious, spotlessly clean (of course), stylishly understated and very comfy. Sophie & Ramin are accommodating lovely hosts. The location in Winchester is second to none, just one street away you can find the theatre royal & an abundance of gorgeous eateries, bars etc. Highly highly recommend!

    Mark2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • Sophie & Ramin’s place is well situated for the railway station, and the high street, and the room is comfortable and quiet. It had a nice hanging area for clothes, and room for my case. I loved the little touches like the coffee & tea facilities in the room, and the small flask of fresh milk. Having an on-suite shower room was great, and the latch on the door was very reassuring. The closeness to the high street means breakfast & dinner isn’t a problem - the pie shop down the road was great, and there are many other places close by. Both Sophie and Ramin were helpful and welcoming, and struck the right balance of welcoming and respectful of personal space.

    Claire2020-02-06T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely room in a warm and welcoming home. Perfect location in the town, very central but quiet. Easy to locate, clean, comfortable and a cute little cat to love.

    Lucy2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • A seamless experience from start to finish, excellent communication and beautifully clean and modern room. The location doesn't get any better than this, perfect.

  • Stayed at Sophie’s for one night. She was flexible about me changing my check in time last minute and really accommodating. Room is very comfortable and warm. Good night’s sleep. Parking as expected - room for a small car - so worked well. Location is great, short walk to city centre.

**monthly bookings available for £1500 all in, so do enquire if looking for something longer than a short break** Located in the very centre of Winchester, in a courtyard setting, No.1 The Old Printworks is a cosy and stylish apartment within a beautifully restored period building. Only a few minutes walk from the train station, local restaurants and the high street, the apartment is in the perfect location to explore the city.
Furnished to a high quality and standard, the apartment has everything you will need to make your stay comfortable and stress free!
Winchester is a beautiful city, full of history, with many interesting sights such as the Cathedral and The Great Hall. St Catherine's Hill is within easy reach, where you can walk to the highest point in Winchester and take in the views. London is only an hour away by car or train to Waterloo.
  • An outstanding property in a perfect location for exploring the city

  • We had a last minute cancellation and managed to book Mark's place for a long weekend the day before we were due to arrive. The place was very clean and definitely felt cozy whilst sheltering from the bad weather. Kitchen was well equipped for all of our needs and very quick commminciation when neeeded. Would recommend.

  • I seriously wrote this review sitting at my home in Chongqing, China, 10,000 kilometers away. When I checked out, AirBnB reminded me to write a review. I think it was disrespectful to Claire's behavior. This time I came to Britain to spend the Chinese New Year with a total of 15 days. In addition to four days in Scotland and one day in London, the other 9 days lived in Claire's house (Jubileehouse & printworks). It is evaluated from 4 aspects, and I hope that everyone who is still hesitating to book Claire's house can be helpful: 1) Location: Jubilee House is 3 minutes walk from the train station and 5 minutes from the city center. Printworks is 3 minutes from the city center and 5 minutes from the train station. Both are super convenient, don't worry about traffic. 2) Living environment: jubileehouse is a brand new and modern style. The kitchen is well-equipped, and it is no problem to deal with Chinese food. Fit young couple. Printworks is slightly older, but more pyrotechnic. In a small yard, the corner is the city center, and the rooms are more local in style. I felt comfortable for five days. 3) Cost-effective: To be honest, I have done a lot of strategies, because spending the New Year with my girlfriend ca n’t be too bad, but it also needs to be able to save the province. Wen Che is an elderly city, and the city is not large. It can be considered to find a house at this price in the downtown area Yes, the savings in transportation costs are huge, and the cost of living time is correspondingly reduced. This is very important, especially suitable for short-stay tourists. No one wants to waste time on traffic every day. 4) Host communication: I can only say that I am really friendly and caring. On the last day, I returned to Heathrow on the evening of the flight. After a delay of two o'clock to check out, there was no additional cost. Some small problems (can't find a place, Wi-Fi, hot water, etc.) were communicated and resolved in time, which is really great. The above 4 points are the real feelings that I lived in Claire's house in Wincher, which also greatly enhanced my journey happiness and harvested what I wanted most. I hope you don't hesitate, it will be great value for money.

Our home is a handsome Georgian townhouse, situated in a charming walled garden opposite the Peninsula Barracks. The city centre, registry office and train station are less than 5 minutes' walk away and it is an ideal location for anyone wishing to visit Winchester and its many historic landmarks. There are numerous pubs, restaurants and coffee bars all within a short walking distance. Cyclists may leave their bikes securely in a basement porch and car parks are within easy reach.
The Guest Room is a large double bedroom on the ground floor overlooking the pretty parterre garden. There is an en suite shower and washbasin. The toilet is just along the hallway and is for private use of guests only. A tassimo hot drinks machine is available in the room.
The Westgate is an historic and beautiful part of Winchester and we are fortunate to be so close to all the amenities that the city has to offer, including two excellent pubs and an attractive coffee shop serving breakfast and light lunches just a few steps away. The Registry Office is also very close by.
  • This was a last-minute booking for us while on a trip to Winchester. The room exceeded our expectations. It was comfortable, clean, close to the city center, and our hosts were lovely. We would definitely book this room again. If you are concerned about the detached bathroom, it was not an issue for us. There was plenty of privacy.

Winchester is full of history and charm, parks, art and culture, great views, and restaurants. My home is only 5 minutes from the railway station and 15 minutes from the centre of town. I had a major refurbishment with new wiring, kitchen, redecoration throughout, carpets and furniture 2 years ago. My place is good for solo and business travelers. I also have a travel cot which is available for use. I also have another single bedroom listed on Airbnb - Single blue room in Victorian terrace
I have parking for a small car next to mine on the front of the house and also a parking permit for the street. Please let me know if you need parking.

Bedroom 1 is a comfortable airy double room, with tea and and coffee and wifi.
The area of Hyde is historically rich and has become a place name synonymous with King Alfred the Great, whose bones were moved to Hyde Abbey in 1110. Winnall Moors Nature Reserve is very close by and on walking through it seems difficult to believe you are right next to the centre of town!
  • Room is spacious and perfect for a couple. The apartment was very clean and the air was fresh. Location is perfect - short walking distance to the main street but still very quiet environment. We were also delighted from all the food we were allowed to eat from the fridge. Would stay again.

  • Joanne offers wonderfully warm welcome to her beautiful home. The perfect host, nothing is too much trouble and the breakfast is gorgeous! (Her poached eggs are the best EVER!) The bedroom is sparkling clean, warm and cosy and the tea tray (with fresh milk) is such a thoughtful addition so you can make yourself a hot drink to enjoy in your own pretty sitting room. You can walk into the High Street in under 10 mins. I have no hesitation in saying if you stay here you will not be disappointed.

    Karen2020-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • Joanne's house is beautiful and charming in a way only found in the UK. The location is just perfect for exploring Winchester as it is far enough away from the centre to be quiet but close enough to be a very short walk (5 mins on foot and your in the Main Street). The room was very clean and the bed comfortable. I had a sound nights sleep and woke refreshed. Overall, one of my best Airbnb stays!

    Tom2020-03-10T00:00:00Z

  • Lovely brand new apartment very close to the station and around an 8 minute walk to the centre. The apartment is located in a very quiet neighbourhood so is great for a quiet nights sleep. The underfloor heating was a real bonus in the winter temperatures!

    Antonia2019-12-06T00:00:00Z
  • This is a lovely sole occupancy ground floor flat - one kitchen/diner and one en-suite double bedroom. A great size for two people. Very clean and modern with a fully equipped kitchen. Milk and some croissants were provided to get us started and tea/ coffee too. Good WiFi. Some instructions on how the TV works would be handy as we couldn’t work out the channels (I’m sure if we had just asked they would have explained though). Also instructions on how to adjust the under floor heating would be good as well as we were quite cold at times. Parking- free road parking outside between 6pm-8am, otherwise it was £7/day in a car park near by. A lovely stay- would come again!

    Kate2019-12-01T00:00:00Z
  • This place is beautiful and so so stylish. It is 5 minutes walk to station, 10 minutes walk to high street and 2 minutes walk to Co-op. The area is so safe and quiet, Claire is so friendly and responsive. I highly highly recommend :)

  • Gillian’s place is a lovely apartment. Great location, nice space and greats comms. Thanks!

    Andrew2019-10-24T00:00:00Z
  • What a lovely space! Gillian is a gracious host providing everything you need for a stay including yummy homemade cookies. The kitchen was beautifully equipped, the bed was very comfortable, the showers hot, WiFi was fast and there were lots of television options. The entire apartment was squeaky clean and absolutely beautifully decorated. Gillian provided all the “little “ things that make you want to book an AirBnB instead of a hotel. There was information on restaurants, taxi services, and all the appliance information that is so handy if you’re not sure how to work something. There were books on the windowsill, nice fluffy pillows, lap blankets in the living room-many extra touches that make it feel like a home. There is free private parking in the back, which is tricky to find the first time in spite of detailed instructions. (The entrance sits far back from the road, and the road’s sign faces the wrong way.) But you don’t need a car at all to eat out or see the sights of Westminster-everything was a very easy 5-10 minute walk away. Great location! Thank you for the lovely stay. You are a fantastic host!

  • Great location, quiet, comfortable, a parking space in the centre of town, perfect for a visit to a Winchester.

    Ian2019-09-07T00:00:00Z
  • This apartment is ideally situated for a holiday / business trip in Winchester. It is close to the cathedral and all the other tourist "must sees". Although it is centrally located, it is beautifully quiet, particularly at the rear of the property, so a good night's sleep is guaranteed. The secure off-road car parking is a real boon. The apartment is tastefully decorated and has all the amenities you could wish for. Winchester is a beautiful city and makes an ideal base for exploring Wessex. There are several interesting National Trust properties in the surrounding countryside - we recommend Mottisfont which can be reached in 30 minutes by car. We were also impressed by the standard of the local restaurants. We can heartily recommend the River Cottage Canteen and Rick Stein's, which are both only a 5-10 minutes walk away.

The flat is light and airey and fitted in a modern contemporary style on the ground floor of a Grade II listed Georgian building close to the historic centre of Winchester, with the advantage of secure parking on site. Sorry, no children under 12 due to glass furniture and electrical equipment. Nearby are the railway and bus stations. Within a short walking distance are Winchester Cathedral, a variety of shops, cafes, restaurants, scenic walks, historical attractions, theatres and cinemas.
The flat comprises lounge and kitchen, bedroom and bathroom. All rooms have the high ceilings and cornices associated with Georgian buildings which make them light and give a feeling of character and space. The entrance door opens into the lounge, with a useful chrome and glass shelf unit on the left which is convenient for storing keys and other knick-knacks. A folder with information leaflets about Winchester and the surrounding area sits on the lower shelf. In front is the kitchen worktop, useful for dumping bags of heavy shopping. The lounge has a large comfortable new Multiyork sofa with big scatter cushions which can be removed allowing it to be used as an occasional bed (linen provided if required). This is ideal for watching the 42” JVC smart HD television which is connected to the internet to enable access to Catch Up services, Apps, and the internet via the BT Router. Smart phones and pcs can also be connected to the fast broadband via the router. The feature fireplace, mantelpiece and large mirror give a central focus to the room, help spread light around and of course allow one’s appearance to be checked! Evening lighting is generally soft from the matching designer floor and table lamps, and wall mounted uplighters. The large window is fitted with a screening blind and Roman blind by Forme to provide privacy from the street outside. A glass top table and chrome finish chairs sit next to the kitchen, ideally located for either a quick snack or a romantic dinner. The kitchen is equipped with built-in Neff cooker, dishwasher, fridge, freezer, and washer/dryer appliances and the microwave is an 850watt Panasonic standing on the black granite worktop. For those who like their coffee there is a Bosch Tassimo coffee maker or a caffetiere if you prefer. Naturally, there is a teapot for tea lovers. Crockery and glassware is stored in the wall units and plate rack, with cutlery, and a range of cooking pots, pans and dishes kept in the cupboards beneath the worktop. To the right of the flat entrance door is a small lobby with a coat rack leading to the bedroom and bathroom. The bedroom has a duck egg blue theme with a new Staples Grandeur double bed, oak side tables and bedside lights. Cotton bed linen and anti allergy quilt and pillows add to the comfort of your nights rest. The bathroom is white and slate grey tiles, with bath and shower, wash basin and toilet and Grohe basin, bath and shower fittings. There is a wall-mounted grabrail to assist getting in and out of the bath. A large chrome towel rail keeps the room warm and helps dry the towels. Winchester was the ancient capital city of Wessex and England from the days of King Arthur. It has been a garrison town and the final home of Jane Austen. So there is a considerable amount of history to explore. The City is well provided with a wide range of types and price range of pubs, restaurants, cafes and bars to suit all pockets and tastes. Leisure activities are catered for with walks, cycle paths and nature trails in the City, through the nearby countryside and a short distance away in the South Downs National Park. Both the Winchester University and the School of Art (part of Southampton University) are based here and the City also plays host to a variety of annual events and festivals. Winchester is rich in the historic relics and archaeology of King Arthur’s Anglo Saxon capital. There is the Great Hall with a replica of King Arthur’s round table, Winchester Cathedral (started in 1079), the ruins of Wolvesey Castle, City Museum and Hyde Abbey ruins where King Alfred is supposed to have been buried. Walks around the centre highlight different historical aspects i.e. the Tudor, Military or the Jewish Walks. There has been a military presence around Winchester since the Iron Age, centred on Peninsular Barracks, and that proud history is celebrated in several museums within the old Barracks area, of which the Ghurka Museum is probably the best known. Next to some of the Winchester College buildings in Kingsgate St is the house, now privately owned, where Jane Austen spent the last months of her life. The High Street is the main shopping area, literally 5 minutes walk from the flat, with Jewry Street, Parchment Street, The Square, and The Brooks intersecting at its top, middle and bottom. The High Street provides a selection of small supermarkets, jewellery, fashion, books, mobile phone and charity shops to tempt the visitors. Jewry Street is full of restaurants and cafes i.e. Loch Fyne or Josie’s Cafe and Bistro. Parchment Street and The Square both have an eclectic mix of boutique style shops, Forme for a wonderful selection of Italian ornaments and fashion accessories and Dinghams for all types of cookery items, to mention but two. The Brooks contains the bigger retailers Primark, T.K. Maxx, Waterstones and HMV. Pubs in the City are many and varied from the historic Royal Oak in St Georges St to the modern style in O’Neill’s (Upper High St), or the riverside Bishop on the Bridge. Celebrity chef restaurants are well represented by Rick Stein, River Cottage and Brassiere Blanc. The Hotel du Vin chain started in Winchester and remains there still in Southgate St. The Ivy restaurant from London has the Winchester Brassiere at the upper end of the High St. Italian, Indian, Chinese, Japanese and Spanish restaurants all vie to test your taste buds together with more traditional fish and chips, gastro-pubs and the chain restaurants of Wagamamas, Ask Italian, Presto etc. McDonalds are, of course, in the centre. Cafes abound with small independents, e.g. Frieda’s Tearoom in Parchment St and the Refectory at the Cathedral, as well as the national chains Costas, Starbucks and a variety of others in between. There are plenty of opportunities for leisure pursuits with walks i.e. around the City, over the Water Meadows to St Cross Hospital (where you can still ask for the ‘Wayfarer’s Dole” – a glass of beer and some bread), across to St Catherine’s Hill and on to the Hockley Viaduct Way, or to Durngate and the Nature Reserve and Walk. There is also a network of cycle paths around the area. Winchester is on the edge of The South Downs National Park which offers further leisure opportunities outside the City. A wide range of events and Festivals are held on a regular basis, visit the Tourist Information Centre in the Guildhall in Broadway at the bottom of the High Street for further details. Other regular events include: • Farmer’s Market (Each month and mid-month) • Criterium and CycleFest (June, annually) • Hat Fair (July, annually) • Wine Festival (November, annually) • Christmas Market and Ice Rink (November/ December, annually)

The location is perfect, a couple of minutes walk from the shops, yet in a lovely quiet street and with the added benefit of a private parking space. Jean is a perfect host; she is friendly, she replies quickly to messages, she was flexible over check-in she couldn't have done more to give us a perfect break in Winchester. A charming cottage with a south facing patio and private parking, 10 minutes from the station, and a short walk to the high street with shops, restaurants, cinema and theatre. This is a lovely quirky converted stables from 1840 built in traditional brick and flint in a quiet cul-de-sac very close to the city centre.
A self contained cottage with accommodation for two people, with an upstairs double bedroom, and downstairs a bathroom, living room and kitchen area. Outside, a south facing patio. The bed can be split into two separate singles if you prefer, but there is only one bedroom.
We chose to in Winchester because it is such a wonderful, small city with great communication links and terrific amenities.

  • Perfect place to stay for one or two guests. Karen is a warm and welcoming host, answers to questions promptly and is in general as helpful and approachable as you could possibly wish for. The cottage is located at the end of a quiet cul-de-sac, has a patio and garden to use that are shielded from view. (I wish it had rained less when I was there.) The whole place is tidy, well equipped and tastefully furnished - just the cottage you need for some relaxing time. I would def recommend and I myself will gladly stay at Karen's cottage again should I be back in Winchester.

  • Great place, 10 minutes walk from town, a lovely stay

    Joseph2020-02-22T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely townhouse in a very quiet mews. Super convenient for the railway station and an easy stroll to the High Street. The kitchen is wonderfully well equipped and all the facilities through the house are excellent. Phil gave me a very warm welcome at check in and was a great communicator throughout the booking process and during my stay. Loved it here, and would definitely stay again.

  • We enjoyed our stay

    Noreena2019-12-11T00:00:00Z
  • Highly recommend, lots of personal touches you would expect in a hotel. Nicely furnished and v comfortable. Only downside is parking for just one car and test your reversing skills for parking!

    Nathan2019-11-29T00:00:00Z
  • Very modern and in a great location

    Rowan2019-10-20T00:00:00Z
  • I stayed at Phil's place for a week in late September/early October with my brother. I can't praise this apartment highly enough. It's in a great location right next to the station and a short walk from restaurants and shops. It was sparkling clean with two really nice bedrooms, one with attached bathroom and another with a bathroom right next to it. It has a spacious kitchen and very nice living area with a lovely balcony that has very nice leafy green views. Phil was at the place on our arrival and thus gave us a very detailed introduction to all the flat's amenities. It is an extremely well equipped flat with everything you could possibly need. From the time of the booking through the end of our stay, Phil always responded promptly to any questions. Phil's flat would be my first choice for future visits to Winchester and I would highly recommend it to anyone thinking of visiting the city. Kevin

    Kevin2019-10-03T00:00:00Z
  • We checked in at the last minute and appreciated that Phil was so accommodating and how easy it was to do that. The location was perfect for us, and the addition of a parking space in the garage welcome. The accommodation elegant, it is well taken care of, and finished to a high standard. The kitchen is well stocked which anyone cooking may appreciate. We loved the balcony and outlook over some lush gardens. I would highly recommend Phil and this location it served our needs very well.

A light and airy double bedroom, situated in the loft of a Victorian terrace in the heart of Winchester city centre, less than 5 minutes from the railway station. Guests have full use of a private shower room situated next door to the bedroom. No one else will be using the loft during your stay offering you full privacy. There is space for a travel cot (which can be provided if necessary).
Please note, this is a busy family house with young children. We are very welcoming and friendly and will do our absolute best to keep family noise to a minimum but children can be unpredictable! The room is on the 2nd floor so this space does feel quite and private.
  • Lovely room and very welcoming.

Good convenient room- tea/coffee making available, but breakfast can be taken in nearby cafes. No kitchen access I'm afraid.
Very close to city centre and station- but a quiet location. This room is at the back of the house overlooking our little garden.
  • Heidi is a lovely and attentive host with a location and accomodation that is perfect for those wishing to stay in comfort and a more traditional styled home. The location is much better than I expected it to be, the bed was like floating on a cloud, and her attitude and perkiness are something to admire and respect

  • Emma's place was delightful, she was super communicative and very flexible regarding our travel plans and late check out. We had to head back to London early (due to work - nothing to do with the flat) and so missed out on our second night. But Emma has been super kind and offered an extra night next time we stay in Winchester. We will definitely be choosing Emma's place for our next visit!

    Natsuko2020-03-01T00:00:00Z

  • It's the best house in Winchester, England. Cleanliness, sensitivity, comfort, location, and integrity of the owner. I visited many Airbnb families, including the United States, Australia, Germany, Britain, Hungary and France. But I've never felt such a delicate and elaborate house. It is good to use near London, Portsmouth, and Southampton, England, and experience the historic Winchester of England. And if you use this house, you will feel the sincerity of the owner. I am still so grateful to the landlord that I want to praise him for being the best.

The property had views in almost all directions and plenty of room for us all. Despite being in a flat we didn't hear neighbours at anytime. A perfect calm getaway location!

    Chloe2019-06-23T00:00:00Z
  • We loved our stay at Katrina's lovely apartment in Winchester. It is very comfortable, spotlessly clean and well located for exploring the town. We particularly appreciated the little extras such as tea and milk, which meant we could make a cup of tea as soon as we arrived.

Hi, I'm Jane and I've lived with my family abroad for 25 years so I know what it is to travel & be away from home. Welcome to my lovingly & entirely restored bijou, Grade II listed, ground floor flat where you will find quality comfort with a tasteful interior elegance. A prime location, with 3 minute walk to the Cathedral and the High street, with its own entrance, open plan sitting room, original exposed beams, natural furnishings in neutral colours mixed with antiques and modern comfort..
There is a contemporary, fully-fitted kitchen with Neff appliances and a full range of Le Creuset pots & pans, oven dishes and utensils and a quartz breakfast bar. Arthur Price cutlery, Wedgewood and bone China crockery and wine & champagne goblets. Two small steps lead up to the Italian-tiled shower room & onto a small, walled, lit patio where there is a small drinks table and 2 chairs. The double bedroom has a wooden Kingsize bed with a silk & natural fibre Supreme luxury 2,400 V-Sprung mattress, with a goose down mattress topper, all dressed in fine cotton, linens and a goose down duvet. There are double-glazed sash windows and solid oak floors throughout.
Being so well situated there are many places to visit in all directions. Towards the High Street there are shops , restaurants and coffee shops aplenty including the Ivy & Rick Stein's. An Everyman cinema is a 1 minute walk away. The historic Cathedral & Winchester College, with its medieval Chapel, are a few minutes walk away or stop in at the famous Wykeham Pub for its great food & wines.
  • Fantastic location

    Sarah2020-02-18T00:00:00Z
  • This place is a gem. Centrally located, gorgeously presented with a very attentive host. Situated a few hundred yards from the cathedral, coffee shops and lots of great pubs and restaurants. The flat is really cosy, with lovely decor and a very comfy bed. Perfect for a romantic break. We will be back!

    Denny2020-02-15T00:00:00Z
  • A little gem, fantastic location, snug, stylish and immaculate.

    Simon2020-02-11T00:00:00Z
  • We were delighted with our stay in Jane's flat. It is outstandingly chic but also has a comfortable, homey atmosphere. The bed and shower are superb. It's located very centrally nearby the town centre and not far from the train station, so we were able to walk everywhere but still enjoy a peaceful neighbourhood and plenty of nature nearby. Jane herself was hospitable and communicative every step of the way! We were sad to leave!

    Siena2020-01-26T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful place! Location is amazing, and a lovely host. We’d love to come back again.

    Katie2020-01-19T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely place, nice location, I would happily stay there again.

    Caitlin2019-12-26T00:00:00Z
  • I don't want to write this review. Once I do, I fear that this little gem will be scooped up so fast, I'll never be able to book it again. Our host, Jane is without compare; she is available, kind, courteous, and very thoughtful. The location is perfect for access to the cathedral, shops, pubs, and anything you'd like to do in Winchester. However, the real joy is the amazing furnishings and thoughtful attention to every small detail. The flat itself is beautifully furnished with a neutral palette of grey, beige, and white with pops of colour and natural wood. Linens are crisp, smell delightfully fresh, and bright white. The bathroom is lovely, the shower hot and water plentiful. But the real joy is the kitchen. We travel often and prefer to cook; however, in most AirBnBs, something is missing--salt, sugar, washing up liquid. Not here. Not only is every small detail tended too, including Illy coffee and two types of coffee makers, but every single kitchen item has been thought of, from the Magic Bullet to the garlic press and champagne bucket; no expense has been spared. If you are looking for a truly bespoke experience that will make you want to spend more time in the flat than away from it, this is easily the best place in Winchester. We booked one stay, booked another within an hour of arriving, and hope to be frequent visitors. I'm sure you will feel the same--ENJOY!

  • We had such a lovely stay in this beautiful cottage / flat. We booked last minute the same day 2 hours before and Jane was more than happy to accommodate us. The house was very cosy and warm, decorated beautifully. The bed was so comfortable and it was lovely having faux fur blankets. Everything was spotless and very clean. Jane was very helpful with our bags too, and allowed us free parking at her own home. She also recommend some lovely local pubs. We would definitely stay here again without hesitation. Thank you Jane for a wonderful comfortable stay!

Positioned across the road from Oram's Arbour park, and just a 5 minute walk from town and the station, this 3 bedroom apartment has been newly refurbished
This has created a contemporary, light and airy apartment. It occupies the two top floors of a victorian house and is over 1000q ft. The master bedroom has it's own ensuite, and there is also a spacious twin room, plus a smaller single room. The loft living area has a modern kitchen and impressive views over Winchester. The apartment has gas central heating, TV and fibre broadband.
There is a lovely open space at Oram's Arbour park right across from the apartment, complete with a children's playground.

  • An fantastically, stylish apartment. I would 100% recommend.

    Ellie2020-02-21T00:00:00Z
  • We had a lovely visit to Winchester. The apartment was clean, comfortable, warm and plenty of hot water. Good position to walk into town but far enough out for it to be quiet in the evening. Lovely living room, kitchen, dining space at the top. And two bathrooms between 5 of us was a bonus. A very enjoyable visit and I will recommend to friends in the future.

  • Lived up to the reviews! Great space. Well looked after. Particularly liked the kitchen and sitting area. Lots of thoughtful touches like dishwasher tablets, washing up bits etc. Fiona very helpful but not at all intrusive.

This light and airy town house (recently renovated) with a private courtyard garden sits on a quiet pedestrian path within easy walking distance of Winchester's famous high street and all of the city's historic attractions. It provides guests with stunning views of a 12th Century church from the sitting room and master bedroom. It offers an allocated parking space. It is also located a short walk from the train station.
On the ground floor is a comfortable sitting room with an inset gas fireplace. There is a kitchen, fully-equipped with high quality appliances (including a dishwasher, washer and dryer), tableware and utensils, and a large dining area (could seat 6-8 people). There is ample cupboard space to hang coats and store other items. French doors open from the dining area into a secluded courtyard garden which catches the sun in the afternoon. It has a table and chairs and is a very pleasant area to spend time on a warm day. There are two bedrooms, one with a queen sized bed and one with bunk beds (full). Both bedrooms have large built in wardrobes and ample drawer space. The newly-renovated bathroom has a heated floor and high-quality fittings. If required, we can provide a Baby Bjorn travel cot a high chair and a stair gate.
The house is located in the historic district of Hyde, a close walk to the nearby High Street with plenty of restaurant and shop options. It is a 5 minute walk from the Theatre Royal, which presents a dynamic programme of the highest quality drama, music, dance, comedy, children’s theatre and pantomime. Within a very short walk, there are two neighbouring pubs both with contrasting character to one another (the Hyde Tavern and the King Alfred Pub). Children will enjoy immediate access to a grassed over churchyard (right in front of the house) which makes it possible to play frisbee or kick a ball around. There are also several fields and parks within a very short walk. Additionally, the River Park Leisure Centre, with swimming pool, soft-play times, and more, is very close by. You can feed the ducks and swans on the River Itchen, right by the Leisure Centre too!

  • We had a fantastic stay at Helen’s place. It is beautifully renovated and very comfortable. It is a short walk into town and located in a quiet area by a lovely church. We had our baby son with us and the house was well equipped for him (high chair, travel cot etc). The fireplace in the living room is very cosy for nights in... wish we could have stayed longer!!

Situated within the heart of historic Winchester comes this generous en-suite room with half tester antique bed with royal connections. The bedding is Egyptian cotton. The luxury en-suite features a contemporary roll top bath and rainfall shower. Continental style breakfast is included. Guests also have use of the dining room with its characterful beams and piano, and access to the kitchen with its homely Aga and facilities for tea and coffee making. An on street parking permit is available.
An historic building with loads of character. It was formerly a dairy but converted to residential use in the 1980s. The walls are built of stone from Hyde Abbey, thought to be the last resting place of King Alfred the Great (of burnt cakes fame). The Abbey was destroyed by Henry VIII at the time of the reformation.
Ideally situated within walking distance of three well regarded pubs including the popular Mucky Duck. River Park leisure centre with its pool and gym facilities is within a stones throw as is the mainline railway station. For a bit of culture the Library and Theatre Royal are all but on your door step.
  • Excellent location 10 mins into shopping centre of town. Near restaurants, pubs & the Theatre. Cosy and quiet, fab to have a visitor parking permit. A privilege to stay in a beautiful period home. Made very welcome with access to hot drinks. Lovely breakfast.

  • One of the best Airbnb experiences. Beautiful, thoughtful decor including the bed I felt an honour to sleep in. Thanks to Geordie's hospitality, we felt at home. Our room is very clean and cozy with a private bathroom. Great breakfast in a beautiful room. Location is also great, only a few minutes to the town centre. We were lucky to find her place. Would love to see her again!
