"De Gulle pracht" Holiday home, Friesland

Our cozy cottage was originally an old stable that we (Caroline and Jan) converted together, with love and respect for the old details and materials, into this "Gulle Pracht". A private driveway with parking leads to the terrace with the spacious garden, a lawn with surrounding high trees, where you can relax. Through the two French doors, you enter the bright and cozy living room with the white old beams and a fully equipped open kitchen. There is wireless internet, TV and DVD available. Because of the ceiling in the living room that has been removed, beautiful light falls in from the skylights and you have a view of the roof construction with the old round shuffles. The beds can be found on top of the two lofts. The comfortable double bed is accessed by an open staircase. The other loft, where a third or fourth bed can be made, is only accessible by flexible guests via a ladder. It is not suitable for small children because of the danger of falling, but larger children find it exciting to sleep there. Please note, the two lofts share the same large open space. Under the old beams, it is wonderful to sleep peacefully, where only the sound of rustling trees, whistling birds or your wonderfully snoring bedmate will be heard. The room is heated by central heating, but only the wood-burning stove can warm the cottage comfortably. We will provide you with enough wood to light a cozy fire. Through an old stable door in the living room, you enter the bathroom with beamed ceiling and underfloor heating. The bathroom has a good shower, double sink and toilet. With its inlaid mosaics and all kinds of funny and old details, this space is also a feast for the eyes. There are two bicycles available for beautiful trips in the wide area (Harlingen, Franeker Bolsward). If necessary, we would like to drop you off in Harlingen for a crossing to Terschelling. You can then leave the car in our yard for a while. We ourselves live in the farmhouse that is on the same property. We are available for help, information and advice for fun trips in our beautiful Friesland. Your cottage and our farmhouse are separated by our garden and the large old barn (with pool table), so we both have our own space and privacy. Kimswerd , located on the eleven city route is a small, quiet and beautiful village where our Frisian hero " de Grutte Pier" was born and lived. He still watches over us, in petrified form, at the beginning of our little street, next to the centuries-old Church, which is very much worth visiting as well. You can do your shopping in Harlingen, the supermarket is a fifteen minute bike ride away. The old port of Harlingen is 10 km from our cottage. Kimswerd is located just above the closure dike. From there, follow the signs N31 Harlingen/ Leeuwarden/Zurich and take the first exit at Kimswerd, 1st right at the traffic circle, 1st right again at the next traffic circle, straight at the intersection, straight ahead, across the bridge and immediately take the first left (Jan Timmerstraat). At the beginning of this street, next to the church, stands the statue of the Grutte Pier. We live in the farmhouse behind the church, Jan Timmerstraat 6, first wide gravel path on the right. - For small children, sleeping on the loft without a gate is not suitable because of the danger of falling. For large children it is fun, the loft is accessible by a ladder. Please note, it is 1 large open space upstairs without privacy.

Studio Pekelvisch consists of a simple space on the ground floor and a sleeping loft above. Compact, tough furnished with lots of old building materials. Don't expect lavish luxury, but authenticity, charm and soothing tranquility.

We spent wonderful days with relaxed hosts, in an extremely stylish and very well-kept cottage in which nothing was missing for two. We enjoyed the romantic large garden with old and rare trees and plants in the best weather. The three cute runner ducks, who happily used their large garden area, were very refreshing. The dyke and North Sea were close by and Sexbierum was a good starting point for cycling trips in the surrounding area. We would love to come back! With best regards Burkhart und Caroline

Special terraced house in a quiet place

Jeroen gave us a nice welcome with a delicious bottle of wine and flowers in the kitchen and living room The house is very nice, rustic and cozy with lots of old furniture and furnishings. It was fun to heat up the wood stove on the colder evenings and watch the flames. On the hotter days, the house was nice and cool. The small garden is nice and was also very popular with our dogs. The area is fantastic for walking. Of course, we also tried the great pizzeria in the immediate vicinity. Nice detours to Sneek and Heeg for strolling and sightseeing are possible in a short distance. Jeroen was always easy to reach, access with a code was uncomplicated and flexible. We will certainly be happy to come back.

We were simply absolutely amazed by Sterre's vacation apartment. It is very stylishly equipped and has everything you need. The peace and quiet is incredibly beautiful and the sunrise over the field is impressive. The ponies, sheep and cats are another highlight. The beautiful Harlingen with its restaurants and shops can be reached very quickly by car. Sterre is very friendly and the communication was very pleasant and uncomplicated. We would always come back :)

This was my second stay at their cozy little house. The house was clean and exactly as described in the listing, meeting all of my expectations. I particularly enjoyed the stove, which was perfect for heating the space during the cold season. Always worth a stay. Last time I mentioned the rather weak cooking plate. I realized that I just turned the knobs the wrong way. 😅

We had a great weekend at Bouwe’s house! We were really able to switch off from everyday life. Sitting by the water or even going for a swim was amazing. The house is in a very quiet location and you have it all to yourself! We’d definitely come back. Great host.

Had a wonderful time! The accommodation is in a wonderfully quiet location – ideal for switching off. We especially liked the cows on the neighboring pasture, a real highlight for our child. The garden is large, well maintained and perfect for children and dogs to play and relax. The sea is also within easy walking distance, which makes the location even more attractive. The house was clean and tidy, we felt comfortable immediately. In the height of summer, it could get warm in the house.

Our stay in the beautiful vacation home was great! It had everything you need. Patricia responded quickly to messages. Thanks also for the flexible check-in and check-out :) It would have been good to know beforehand that two large towels were missing, then we would have brought some ourselves. Otherwise, everything is great and highly recommended!
