Stone Cottage in Grounds of a 16th-Century Castle

The cottage sits on the grounds of a castle dating back to 1543 offering an authentic stay. The interior retains a decor that matches the historic charm of the area with modern comforts added and a shared pool in the stunning gardens outside. This is our smallest cottage and cannot take an additional bed or cot. The other cottages are all larger and can do this. All 3 cottages can be rented separately or together. They are in the grounds of a 16th century castle with beautiful gardens and large swimming pool enclosed by stone walls. The lower salon and summer kitchen in the main chateau is available to share. Access is by the side garden gate and all cottages are accessed by stone steps- sadly not suitable for wheelchairs. We will most likely be present living in the main Chateau and available to help and advise about restaurants and things to do in the area. We will share the pool and gardens. The old village is in a beautiful part of France that is has retained its iconic beauty through the centuries and still feels untouched by modern life in many places. Experience true local dining and bakeries with scenic walking trails all around. parking is in the church square below the Chateau. There is a local taxi service in the village and bus service to Avignon, Banyols sur Ceze and Uzes but car hire is recommended. We are 20 minutes from Avignon TGV rail station and about an hour from Marseille, Nimes or Montpellier airports. The cottages are completely private and tranquil.

Charming house at the gates of Uzès

Thank you for our stay. This was a beautiful space with so many details big and small not overlooked by the host and owner. The house itself is quite unique in that it is full of old world charm and character but at the same time it feels new, clean and practical. Despite the age of the home everything was kept so clean and smelled fresh. The kitchen was lovely to be in as well. Even though we didn’t originally plan to cook much, we just couldn’t help it with a kitchen like this and all of the amazing dishes. The cookbook collection was a nice touch too :) Appliances all very good quality. The location for us was a bit far from some of the day trips we wanted to make so we did a fair bit of driving each day but that’s our fault since we could have stayed in this region and explored the many beautiful things close by. Next time!

We had a great weekend with friends at Laurence's house. The place is peaceful, the facilities in general, the outdoor kitchen and the pool are just beautiful and pleasant :) Laurence is very accommodating and very kind. I recommend this accommodation whether with family or friends.

We spent two months in Henri's home. The apartment is very well arranged and spacious. The bed on the mezzanine is in the attic, to take into account that it is very hot in this place during the summer months and that there is no air conditioning on the mezzanine. We were unable to use it during the month of July. Henri lives on site and is therefore available for any concerns. Very nice and responsive. I recommend this place.
