Kid-friendly holiday rentals in San Isidro de El General

This place was perfect for us, two adults and two kids (12 and 9 yrs old). We had originally planned on staying at another place higher on the hill until we realized the road to get there was insanely steep and challenging to navigate, especially during the rainy season. Eric’s place was easy to get to, with a friendly security guard monitoring traffic into the neighborhood. The view was AMAZING, the beds were comfy and the pool was clean and refreshing. Great location for exploring other beaches and the towns of Dominical and Uvita and an easy 1.25 hr drive south to Sierpe for a mangrove boat tour (which was awesome) or to access Corcovado NP. Eric and Fabiola were wonderful and very helpful hosts. First-timer advice: if you’re renting a car, go with a smaller 4x4, we got a Hyundai Kona. Barely fits our luggage, but easy to navigate on narrow Costa Rican roads and small parking spaces.

We had a wonderful stay. Chandra was awesome. Would definitely recommend if you are looking to connect with nature.

From the moment we arrived, this home had such a beautiful, welcoming, home-y feeling. It’s located in a fantastic area—surrounded by great restaurants and plenty of things to do. The pool was warm, clean, and incredibly refreshing—perfect for relaxing after a day out. The host was amazing! She went above and beyond, offering personalized restaurant recommendations (we tried several and loved them) and sharing tons of helpful details about local excursions and activities. She even offered to help us book them! While we only had time for the 90-minute massage (which was wonderful), we could tell she really knows her stuff and is passionate about making her guests’ stay unforgettable. Highly recommend this spot for anyone looking for a relaxing, well-located getaway with an exceptional host. We’d definitely stay again! 🌴✨

This house is very beautiful and immaculate in all its areas, and it surpassed any expectations my husband and I had. The view of the ocean was impressive during the day. We loved watching the fog roll in from the ocean and cover the gorgeous hills in the evenings. We found daytime/ night time air temperatures in this location to be cooler than a similar rental we had in the hills of Manual Antonio on the previous days. The grounds and landscaping were extremely well maintained and just gorgeous. The pool was crystal clean, large, and enjoyable. Initially we were concerned about the drive up the hill, but we found the private dirt road leading to the house to be one of the easiest and best maintained roads we had ever experienced in the hills in CR. We felt extremely safe and peaceful during our stay and took many walks outside. As for Stan and Kaileigh, we had the good fortune of meeting them in person. They are two of the most caring and responsive hosts one could ever want to have.

Cindy’s place was absolutely amazing. We loved every minute! The pool was SO nice, the views are incredible. It’s a short drive to the beach and town. Cindy was so great! She was so gracious and accommodating. We saw frogs, monkeys, iguanas, toucans and more all from the porch and pool. I really can’t say enough about the house and host! Thank you for an amazing time in your beautiful home!!!

The place is very quiet, the house is very clean and with a lot of space, equipped with everything you need, the best are the green areas and the pool area.

Our stay was great! This modern house is in a great peaceful location. We saw many birds right on the property, and the views from the front porch are amazing! The space heaters made our stay comfortable on the cool nights. I made it up the lane in a Nissan Sentra, although when it rains the last few meters are a bit slippery. If you have experience on rough roads you will be on with an automobile, although a 4x4 is ideal. Koen was always responsive and super friendly and helpful! I can definitely recommend this place and hope to go back someday!

We loved our time at Casa Feliz! Highlights were sitting on the porch in the mornings watching the birds, hiking up toward Cerro Chirripó, a walk across the swinging bridge to Finca Brinca for lattes and banana bread, tasting the garden, and exploring the beautiful rio Talari. Brad and Nikki were a joy to be around and have put so much love and intentionality into their property, it’s truly a gem and they are talented and creative! This whole valley is a really special place and we hope to return!

Nice place to spend a few days working remote, Walmart 4 minutes by car and is a place away from the noise of the city. Hosts are friendly and responsive

I couldn’t be happier with this Airbnb!! My husband and I booked Brian & Karla’s Casita for a week to enjoy our honeymoon. I wish we’d booked it even longer. This place has a way of making you feel completely unplugged from society, all the while being as modern as it gets. Pictures don’t do it justice! The wrap around balcony was perfect for evening sunsets, and the inside of the Casita was a perfect place to relax after adventuring Costa Rica. The Casita is a short drive down the mountain to Dominical, which has tons of local restaurants - Brian’s recommendations were spot on! You are also super close to Nuayaca Waterfalls, Uvita, and Manuel Antonio! Brian is an amazing host and quickly responded whenever we had questions. Him and his wife even made us dinner one night. We highly recommend this airbnb and we would book at Brian’s 1000x over! Pura Vida

Mr. Keneth is a very cordial person in his dealings, very accessible and understanding in terms of the flexibility of entering and leaving his facilities, which greatly facilitates independence when touring. The impeccable facilities, I loved that they had sugar in sachets for safety reasons, the mini fridge and the microwave, I am gluten intolerant and I must take my own food everywhere, their facilities and implements made everything easier for me. Thank you!

Had a lovely stay at Ideal Living. Peaceful and private space for our 10-day trip. It was super clean, had everything we needed and Steve, our host, was highly communicative and friendly throughout. He even brought us fresh fruit from his farm, including fresh coconuts and prepared some fresh ceviche too. 5/5 stay!

This place was absolutely amazing. It exceeded all of our expectations. It was very clean and the location was super close to restaurants, the beach, the little town, and waterfalls. Each morning, we grabbed coffee and sat out on the porch, listening to the howler monkeys and watching all the birds. I couldn't wait to get up every morning to do that!! It is in a complex, but the neighbors were super friendly, the pool was always available and absolutely beautiful to look at, walk out to and take a dip to cool off. It was a wonderful place to return to after a day out for complete relaxation.

Diana’s place was absolutely amazing. Pictures do not do it justice. The views were incredible in the morning with all the glass windows. Diana was the Most helpful host we have had, giving us extra blankets, binoculars for the kids, and beach chairs and toys. U will not regret this stay! Cant wait to come stay again.

I came for a yoga and meditation retreat. This was the perfect 1 bedroom home to base myself, kitchen to cook each day, nice hill to go for morning walking and hikes, large lounge and balcony to practice my morning yoga. Good internet to do my work at the computer. Good air conditioning to keep cool when in the house. Lizzet was always responsive and helpful. High recommend.

My intention was to go to rest more than a walk, although I did a little bit of everything and finally I rested with a lot of peace and tranquility. The place is good, I would come back
