At approximately 5200 feet above sea level, the Lake Atitlan area enjoys year-round spring-like weather (70s to low 80s during the day and 60s at night). Although temperatures remain relatively constant throughout the year the weather is marked by two distinctive seasons: the rainy season (May to October) and the dry season (November to April). During the rainy season the mountains and volcanoes surrounding the lake are verdant green. The mornings are generally crystal clear, while the afternoons bring spectacular showers that are a sight to behold as they roll in over the lake. During the dry season it is rare to receive any precipitation at all. La Casa Colibri has five luxurious guest rooms each with en-suite bath. Four rooms have spacious balconies overlooking the lake. Two rooms have deep soak tubs with separate showers.

This place has to be by far my most favorite spot I’ve traveled to out of over seven countries. The pictures truly do not do the Airbnb justice or reviews. The whole estate is beautiful with amazing greenery and animals, such as birds guard dogs in a gated area. The hot tub was amazing, and the location was perfect to get between the towns. You are in a gated Airbnb if safety is a concern for you and Alfonso the housekeeper is always tentative and responsive for any given need. The house was very clean as well and came with water provided. If I can rate this Airbnb over at 10, I would.

Our stay in the Zürich cabin was pleasant, comfortable, but above all, elegant. Enjoying an alpine cabin in the cold climate of Tecpan was an excellent way to celebrate the anniversary with my husband. Sucy supported us at all times. The room is comfortable with heating, a work desk, organizers for clothes, towels, basic supplies, the bathroom was clean and the kitchen was equipped. At night, the weather is in perfect harmony with the warm atmosphere in the living room, where we spend the evening wrapped in a blanket on a sofa with a rug and a cup of coffee. We would definitely go back to that place.
