Cottage holiday rentals in Sandown

Our second visit here, and will likely come back. Astrid is a great host and the stables are a lovely little space to stay with beautiful surroundings and a great location within the New Forest.

We had a lovely stay at Greenbank. The house was spacious, tidy and clean, and we appreciated the extras provided by the host (towels, toiletries, tea and coffee). The property is just a short walk away from a playground , shop, pharmacy and local places to explore, which we enjoyed investigating. Our 4-year-old loved reading the children's books from around the house and the garden was a lovely spot to play in. We paid to have the hot tub, which we found easy to use and great fun. Thank you to Amy for a lovely stay.

What a lovely welcome as we arrived there was a welcome package with lovely fresh bread and local produce. The Annexe was light and airy and very clean. We used the helpful guide provided for walks and they were great as we had our dog with us. Creech wood was lovely early morning and only a 2minute walk away. The hot tub was lovely to sink into after a long day of walking around. Would highly recommend anyone to stay here and we would love to go back!

This was our second stay at The Old Piggery, and again we absolutely loved it. It’s such a beautiful location. Grant is really helpful.

We had an amazing stay at Ashley’s cottage. The kitchen/living area is absolutely beautiful and suited us as a group of friends when doing breakfast/lunch etc. Our favourite bit of the property has to be the outside area. Having an outdoor shower/toilet, hot tub, kitchen area and bbq just topped off our weekend and we spent most of our time outdoors. A few outdoor games were left in the garden and it gave a good few hours of entertainment for us too! Ashley was super inviting and was very clear with check in instructions etc. The house felt very safe & secure and we all got very good night sleep from comfortable beds. We would love to come back again next year and for years after this!! A really lovely place!

This was our second time staying and we loved it as much as the first time. The place is so peaceful and cosy. Jane was very responsive and helpful. Looking forward to booking another stay in the future!

Absolutely stunning place. Like a super luxurious safari lodge! Whole area is beautiful and everything in the lodge is state of the art. We stayed with our 3 kids who fought over who would get the canopy bed in the lounge. Loved the hot tub, had a fab bbq and slept like babies. Spent a day at west wittering beach which is close by and felt like we were abroad. Sarah’s lovely and couldn’t do enough for us. She even let us stay all Sunday as they had no-one arriving at no extra cost. Who does that? We’ll definitely be back!

Haviland Cottage was a really lovely place to stay - clean, tidy and comfortable. Description was spot on! Beautiful house, lovely decor and very comfortable beds. Plenty of towels both for inside and the hot tub. The grounds were stunning and very well maintained. Lots of different areas - our dogs loved the outside areas. Dogs were well catered for - beds, blankets, bowls etc. Kitchen was well equipped with plenty of crockery, glasses and cutlery. Dish washer tablets and washing pods provided which was a bonus. Was a perfect getaway with our family. All so good, would highly recommend a stay here!

Enjoyed our short stay. The property is exactly as described on the listing. Easy to get to Yarmouth and Freshwater and indeed the rest of the IoW. Some property developments close by, but did not disturb us.

Lovely little cottage with a secure garden. The village has a fantastic little shop for everything you need and a very friendly village pub with great food.

Our second visit as we love the cottage and its peaceful location. Fresh eggs to eat and on this occasion a deer in the garden makes this thatched cottage something special, and Pam and her husband take great care of the place. This year the internet was much improved, though it didn't bother us last time at all. Watching the ferry come in and out and listening to the geese etc., we really chilled out. Thank you ;-)

Loved this cottage. It had furnishings and decor entirely in keeping the age and character of the cottage. We were warned about low ceilings and the steep stairs. Kitchen is well equipped and opens on to the back garden with seating area. The separate dining area has a table cut from a slice of timber. There are 2 bedrooms with comfortable beds. Bathroom has both a roll top bath and a walk in shower. Washing machine very cleverly is tucked away next to the bathroom. Bosham is a quiet, pretty village with a frontage to the sea channel. There are 2 pubs ( both recommended),a couple of cafes and an arts and crafts centre. The Church is also worth a visit. Nearby are the seaside villages of East and West Wittering. Parking beside the West Wittering beach is expensive so plan to stay most of the day. Chichester is accessible by bus (no 56) from Bosham. All in all a great place for a few days stay.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The property was clean and tidy with lots of amenities to make the our stay really enjoyable. A true home away from home that the entire family will have fond memories of for years to come.

Absolute Perfection. We have been fortunate to stay at some great Airbnb’s over the past 10 years but this has to be the best! Maria was a fantastic host. She was always friendly and quick to reply to queries, she gave a us loads of helpful information as well as tips of places to visit and go for food. She greeted us at the cottage and gave us the warmest welcome and even baked us a cake! There were other welcoming gifts too including an activity pack and chocolate buttons for our daughter, a bottle of wine, milk, sourdough & local jam. All were lovely. The cottage itself is beautiful, full of character and charm, it felt cosy whilst spacious enough at the same time. It was spotlessly clean and contained everything we could need for our stay. Beds were large and very comfortable. The outdoor space is incredible! There is off road parking for atleast 2 cars, a large fully enclosed front garden, decking with lovely seating area over looking the rear wonderful rear garden.

The Boathouse never disappoints! We had a lovely weekend here - great to be back. Sad to see the Hot Tub go but the views and the setting reminds us why it's one of our favourite places. Highly recommend!

Amazing place to stay, one of the best. It has everything you need and more. Lovely touch with a bottle of wine waiting for you. The location is perfect to explore Bosham, which is stunning.

We had a great stay at Sammy's, a beautiful location. The kids felt right at home and the garden was a lovely space for them to run around in. Lovely hamper on arrival too.

Allie's place was a hit with the entire family. Our 2 year old tremendously enjoyed running in the garden and playing with the old tractor that stood there. Allie gave us great pub recommendations nearby her property. The beds were very comfortable and the kitchen fully kitted out for cooking. You need to follow Allie's exact GPS instructions on how to drive to her property (which is not what we have done) because network connection gets suddenly very poor in the vicinity of the property, so you can't rely on your phone anymore at that point. There is a good wifi connection once you arrive at the property.

We stayed here with our 2 young kids (3yo and 18 months) for 4 nights. The house is in a brilliant location. Just 1 min walk to esplanade which has a paddling pool for young kids and play area adjacent to the beach. There is also a Waitrose 2 min walk in the opposite direction. The house is approx 20mins drive to Shanklin and our kids throughly enjoyed the beach and the rides. Would highly recommend this property and will be booking it again next year.

This is a truly lovely spot. The barn is spotless and comfortable and had everything we needed. Sophie's care package of breakfast items - milk, eggs, bread, cereal, juice - was most welcome. The barn is within a secure gated plot, and delightfully peaceful: ducks on the lake, deer, alpacas, all as stated, yet only 10 minutes drive on easy roads from central Chichester. Other destinations within easy reach include the Weald and Downland (Repair Shop) museum, Goodwood, and Bosham village. If returning to the area we'd hope to stay here again.

We loved Susan’s cottage. It was perfect for our family of 4. It was really cosy and welcoming, we felt immediately at home. Location was great, being able to walk to the pubs and restaurants in the evening, but set in a lovely peaceful little row of cottages. Susan was also a super helpful host and really responsive. We had a great holiday, loved exploring Yarmouth and West Wight.

We had a wonderful stay at Fisherman’s Loft and so glad we found this absolute gem for our holiday. David & Sarah are the perfect hosts and their attention to detail is fantastic and it feels so homely. We loved the views out to sea and despite the weather not being great we had some lovely days out across the island. We would definitely recommend a stay here to recharge and relax in the most perfect little seaside accommodation.

Jasmin was a very responsive communicator, as well as accommodating, helpful and friendly. The listing was all that we expected and we were thrilled with its view, how compact, lovely and clean it was. The proximity to the beach and shops/ restaurants was a fairly short walk which added to the ease of seeing things in the area. We would definitely choose to stay again if we went back.

Had an amazing stay, Brading House was practically in the centre of everything we wanted to do! There were plenty of bus routes to tourist locations, like Sandown to see the pier and wildlife sanctuary, Shanklin beach and Chine, a bus runs through from Ryde to Sandown and there’s lots to do along the way, like stopping off at the Wishing Well Inn to check out the Mermaid Distillery- We had a lovely dinner at The Bugle Inn and went down to the Brading Roman Villa too.
