Amazing Casa do Souto with private pool

Amazing manor from the beginning of the 20th century, with a private 1200 sm garden and a 14mx6m swimming pool with salted water (no chloride). It is located in a quite village of Souto, 6 minutes drive from the Thermal Spa of Termas do Carvalhal, and 20 minutes from the city of Viseu. There is a lot to see around, but if you prefer to stay within these safe walls, this is the perfect place with all the comforts and the atmosphere to slow down and rest. Private garage and wi-fi in the property.

We had an amazing stay here. We found the peace and quiet we were looking for in a beautiful environment. Lucas, and his mother who speaks french, waited for us in town to escort us to the house. We felt very welcome before we even arrived. Even though we arrived late, we were given a big tour of the house, terrain and animals, which the kids loved. The house fits the description and did not disappoint, the outside is beautiful.

The best. That has to be the first thing I say. We have stayed at so many airbnbs and this place was just wonderful. First Sandra and Nuno went far above and beyond for hosting - they met us in person, watched our dog for us!!, brought veggies, had homemade bread ready - and were just truly the kindest people. It felt like we were visiting family not staying in an airbnb. The house is lovely - every detail is thought of and hand crafted, you can certainly feel the love for the place and the careful and beautiful renovation throughout. The backyard is a hidden gem - again, with every detail from a firepit to an outdoor shower, lounge chairs and fairy lights. We were a hop away from a main trailhead and easy access to many towns in the area. It was perfect, you even have an easy to access parking spot so you can easily navigate in and out. Highly recommend and huge thanks to our hosts! We appreciated the lovely opportunity to enjoy such nice people and a wonderful space.

Friendly, discreet, attentive host, the sense of service. He drove us to the house hidden in the riverside woods. And he lit the fire for us. The house is impeccable, nickel storage and exceptional cleanliness. A haven of peace between lemon tree, orange tree and fig tree by the river. Paradise on earth.

Impeccable house beyond our expectations, it was even better than in the photos Maria and her husband were very welcoming and responsive They gave us a good number of recommendations for visiting the area and we are delighted to have stayed in their home. I spent 3 nights at the guesthouse with my son. We had a great time. The place is up the hill, and only an 8 minute walk from the city centre with nice restaurants. The guesthouse itself is great. It has everything you need. It is not fancy, but absolutely more than perfect for a great stay in Arouca. I special shout out to Patricia, who welcomed us in the guesthouse and prepared the breakfast (for which you need to pay extra - which was clear from the website and was totally fine). Altogether I can most certainly recommend the place!
