Holiday houses in Schinokapsala

We called this place "the mansion." The views are absolutely breathtaking and the accommodations pristine. The beautiful beach is across the street and the hotel nearby has an outside bar on that beach. We ended up renting a car because we could tell driving in Crete was easier than places like Mykonos and Athens. We ventured to a few places like Richtis Gorge and the downtown harbor; excellent shopping with some closed (no vehicles) streets. We wished we had more time here! Our host was very kind and also helpful in booking the car rental after our arrival. We highly recommend Villa Phi!! Thank you.

Wij waren een week in het huis van George eind september. We vonden de ruimte erg mooi en fijn. Omdat het huisje ernaast niet verhuurd werd hadden we alle mooie terrassen met geweldig uitzicht voor onszelf. schattig dorpje in de bergen op ca 30 minuten van mooie stranden en ook mogelijkheden om de bergen te verkennen. George communiceert snel en goed via Airbnb. Voor sleuteloverdracht en direct contact was er een vriendelijke buurvrouw. We misten het een en ander in de keuken, waaronder een koffiezetapparaat. toen we de buurvrouw ernaar vroegen, stond ze 2 dagen later met een gloednieuw apparaat voor de deur. wij zouden zonder aarzelen dit huis opnieuw huren. We had a wonderful stay at the Seascape Villa! The views are truly stunning and the photos do not do them justice! Maria was an incredible and caring host/ point of contact and was so responsive, providing special tips and recommendations to make our visit enjoyable! She’s happy to help, and even called ahead to restaurants for vegan options for us - thanks! The separate and very private bedrooms with their own entrances are great for sharing the space. Lots of outdoor places to relax and enjoy the view. The secluded rocky beach is breathtaking and absolutely worth the hike down and up - more for the adventurous type but absolutely doable and worth it! So peaceful and gorgeous down at that beach. Sometimes there is some noise from the neighbors and their dogs, cats, and from the road behind the house which is normal/ typical if off a main road and with neighbors - just flagging that although it is private and somewhat secluded it can get noisy at times. 100 percent would return!!

We had an amazing week - we really enjoyed the house and its amenities and the beach is just across the street, so it’s a great place to disconnect and enjoy. If you like to run, there’s a long beach just a few mins away. Hosts were great, very responsive and super helpful. 100% recommend, would definitely come back.

Nous avons passé un séjour très agréable dans cette charmante maison très calme et très bien équipée. La région est très belle et de nombreuses plages sont accessibles en une quinzaine de minutes. Nous espérons revenir dans ce bel endroit.

Wir hatten eine unbeschreiblich schöne Zeit in der Windmühle. Der Ausblick und der Garten sind umwerfend. Alles ist mit soviel Liebe zum Detail hergerichtet. Es fehlte uns an nichts. Im Ort kann man sehr gut essen. Man fühlt sich einfach wohl. Wir sind glücklich, dass wir dort sein durften. Wer das Besondere sucht, dem kann diese Unterkunft nur wärmstens empfehlen.

Nice view from the terrace, with a lot of shade from the trees. The private beach is just incredible. Perfect spot to go for daytrips to discover east Crete. A car is needed as you are up on the hill – as it is called Ferma Hill Apartments and walking up and down to Ferma by foot can be quite dangerous at night. During windy days, Achlia beach is recommended, five- minutes-drive and suddenly all you feel is just a tiny breeze. Anna is always helpful, thank you very much! Make sure to visit Takis animal shelter in Ierapetra while you are staying there! Appointments need to be booked in advance on his website, most amazing animal lover and person!

Anna’s house is beautiful, cozy, and peaceful in the small village called Shinokapsala on the southern coast of Crete. The house has a lot of space and the view is spectacular for the balcony. All but one room has private bathrooms, the kitchen is the best equipped among the apartments we rented in Crete. All windows have motorized blinds, and all rooms are equipped with AC. It can be reached only by car and if you want to buy something you need to take the car also because the village has no shops but the calmness and the sight make up for it. Strong N, NW winds could make some noises in the house but if one can sleep deep or uses earplugs what we did could oversleep these nights without a problem. Anna was a great host. Even though we got lost in the mountains because we didn’t follow her clear instructions on approaching the village, she patiently waited for us in the middle of the night. We heartily recommend Anna and her house for families or small groups.
