If you like Quiet, clean, comfortable, walks, good village pub, every where an easy drive from Scotton….You will love this cottage. We had a lovely relaxing time here our Whippet loved it also. Holly & Alastair are excellent hosts, we would definitely recommend staying here.

We had a wonderful stay at Greg's home. Ray, who showed us round gave us the perfect welcome and explained everything to us. The photos looked fantastic but it's even more beautiful in person. Amazing facilities, very clean, and every single bedroom was lovely. The kitchen was fully stocked with everything you could need to cook a big meal, there was a huge supply of tea and coffee and they even provided milk and biscuits! The hot tub was a welcome addition, incredibly well maintained, worked perfectly and lovely and warm by the time we came to use it. It's just the perfect home for entertaining. We visited as a family of six adults and thought it was brilliant, from the enormous TV to the boardgames and Sonos system. There was just so much room - perfect for small children too. The weather was awful but we didn't mind staying in because the house was so beautiful. We would stay again in a heartbeat!

Lia's cottage was really lovely. It was clean, beautifully furnished, and with a great sized garden. The location was peaceful, in a nice little village. Lia was really helpful and communicated well. I'd happily recommend the stay.

Had a lovely weekend at this cottage for my partner’s birthday. Hot tub was gorgeous, even better in the rain. House was beautiful and having the chickens running around outside was fabulous. Marisa was the perfect host. Answered questions quickly and was very accommodating. Would definitely recommend a stay in this lovely cottage.

We have just had a fantastic stay at The Lamp Post. We were absolutely blown away by the accommodation. Steve and Andrea have thought of absolutely everything. The whole place is luxury and pristine. The hot tub is so easy to use and definitely an extra added bonus to what is a beautiful place to stay. Thank you so much - we will definitely be returning!

We have just returned from a stay at The Stables. We both loved the accommodation and the location. The hosts made us feel very welcome and there was some lovely touches inside for when we arrived. The location is very peaceful and tucked away but also within walking distance of several pubs all serving good quality food for reasonable prices. We would recommend and come back again without question.

We loved staying at Scarlett’s place. We had everything we needed and everything was so easy to use. Very responsive host and great for letting us know that the place was ready an hour early! Hot tub was nice and warm with great location and privacy. We went to travellers rest (10 min walk) and the food was so nice and big portion sizes for the price. We even went back later on for the Wednesday night quiz night! Overall great place and would definitely stay again. Thank you

We were lucky enough to stay at the Nook this weekend and couldn’t have asked for more. Wayne and Dave are so thoughtful with the attention to detail for guests to enjoy and really go the extra mile with thoughtful treats on arrival and ensuring you have everything you need. It really is a little treasure hidden away in the countryside - thank you for having us x

Lovely location .just as described relly enjoyed stay

just returned from holidaying here- June 2025. Myself, kids and the dogs, and we absolutely loved our little peaceful break away, which was much needed. *Spotlessly clean. * great location for exploring Beningbrough hall. * Lovely quiet garden * off road secure parking * Tesco food delivery is available which saved us fetching shopping, as the car was already packed to the rafters we took the dogs, but the weather was schorchio, so majority of our time was spent just relaxing & enjoying the garden or going inside to cool off. The hosts Rebecca & her hubby were absolutely faultless / super helpful & have thought of everything, we were kindly left some milk & some other essentials, even had some treats for the dogs, & more importantly a fan for the hot weather which helped immensely. Not a bad word to say about the place. or hosts, book & enjoy. i would recommend others to visit here. hoping to go back in the cooler weather so we can do more exploring.

Wow! What a fantastic place to stay. The cottage was a perfect haven for a relaxing holiday. The scenery was breathtaking, and we spent much of the time gazing out of the window at the dramatic weather and wildlife. We wished we could have stayed longer! Chimney Cottage is a lovely place to stay, very close to relatives we were visiting. I loved the quaint village although the parking tested my ability. (Not like open spaces in Australia). The cottage is beautifully decorated with the perfect mix of modern and old and having the Butchers Arms near by was really convenient for good meals and friendly service. Ashley, our host, was very friendly and always helpful when we had queries. Thank you Ashley, I’d love to stay again.

The Writer's Cottage was everything we expected, and a whole load more. Quirky and individual don't go near to describing it! Heath's welcome was great (even though we arrived considerably earlier than expected) and his local knowledge and recommendations were awesome. We used it as a base for lovely walks from the property, and slightly further afield to the National Mining Museum (new to us, highly recommended) and the Yorkshire Sculpture Park (an old favourite) near Wakefield. Useful information (might already be covered in the listing) - It is not remotely suitable for young people who cannot be "trusted" (lots of lovely but small, sharp, heavy, unsteady objects). People with reduced mobility should probably check with Heath too. Other points (which did not cause us any issues) the kitchen was fine but there is no microwave / dishwasher / washing machine / tumble dryer. We would love to stay again if back in the area.

What a fantastic little cottage, perfect for a weekend away. Lovely hosts and perfect location for exploring Yorkshire, we would definitely recommend and hope to visit again sometime.

A beautifully renovated cottage ideally located for our visit. Everything in the cottage has been finished to a very high standard making it comfortable and practical without fussiness. Tracey was quick to respond to any questions and the welcome pack provided all the information we needed.

Wonderful stay. David was a great, welcoming host, lovely arrival gifts of cake flowers, bread and the biggest choice of hot drinks available I've ever seen! Lovely inside , comfy lounge, wonderful bedding and robes. Great shower. Beautiful outside space. Really pleased with our choice to stay here.

This was our first time using airbnb and they set the bar ihigh. We received a warm welcome. Every need was catered for from cotton buds to laundry. pods. A beautiful property and surroundings; the cottage was clean rhoughtout Lots to do in the area with nice cafes and restaurants. We highly recommend this place and the hosts. Thank you🙂

We really enjoyed our long-weekend stay at Angie's. It was very private, cosy and well equipped with comfortable spaces, including beds and lovely linen. All the instructions were helpful and we were grateful to have all the excellent kitchen amenities in particular.. We enjoyed the remote location because there was good access to nearby towns. We used Malton for our EV car charging. The countryside was beautiful and there was plenty to see and do. We used an online app for information about local walks but there was information in a folder in the chalet too. lovely stay- thank you :-)

Really pleased with the stay at Compton Cottage. Perfect location, everything clean, great local info (used the buses), pubs round the corner plus post office/shop, nice extras in the bathrooms, and kitchen well equipped along with tea and coffee.

We had a great week in the Cow Byre.Beautiful cottage with wonderful views. Everything to a very high standard. Nigel & Clare wonderful hosts. Lots of great places nearby to visit. Highly recommended and will definitely return. Thanks Charlie & Teresa.

Had a wonderful time staying here in June. You can’t get a more perfect location! You are on the footpath to Mam Tor/Lose Hill so it’s very easily walkable and also loved the Indian restaurant which is right on your doorstep. It’s a brilliant location so close to other lovely villages, Ladybower Resevoir, Kinder Scout etc all of which are amazing walks. The Airbnb itself is so cute and perfect for a romantic getaway. Everything has been thought out. The kitchen is filled equipped so brilliant if you are planning on cooking, there’s even a fan in the bedroom which is handing in the summer months. The log fire is a lovely touch and the bathroom is very luxurious. Would 100% recommend! The only thing to note is that part of the driveway is a tad bit narrow, but larger 4x4 can get through pretty easily so not really a trouble!

Wow. What a beautiful place to spend the Easter weekend. Sarah’s place is a home from home. It has everything you need to enjoy the peaceful tranquility of the surrounding area. Milk, eggs (chocolate too!) were here when we arrived, a lovely touch. The house was sparkling clean and bigger than the photos show. The pub across the road is ideal for a drink and top notch pub grub. York is 30 minutes to the park and ride (definitely do this to save on expensive parking), but the beauty is the walks around the area. We would stay here again in a heartbeat. A lovely cottage perfectly situated in the heart of the hills, it has a great number of trails starting right outside, or a few minutes walk away. Cosy, clean, private and has everything you need. Very close walking distance to pubs and shops and Jill was so friendly! Would high recommend!
