One-day Retoro Sensation House/Private Hanok/Bullmung/Outdoor Barbecue/Choncance

It was just right for a village vacation, and it was nice to be kind and kind. The only thing I regret is that the dishes were washed, but there was no big problem. The fire pit was romantic and nice! And the room was so warm!

I stayed here for 3 nights and 4 days with my parents and sister, and it was truly an unforgettable experience. The home is set in a stunning location with layered mountain views, fresh air, and a peaceful atmosphere. Upon arrival, the host warmly welcomed us and showed us around the house and nearby scenery. The home was just like the photos—clean, cozy, and well-maintained. What truly surprised us was the private stream behind the house, which made our stay extra special. We cooled off in the water and took beautiful family photos. The host was incredibly kind—offering fresh lettuce from the garden, sharing homemade kimchi, and always responding quickly to any needs. On our last day, we ordered breakfast and were served a delicious, home-cooked meal with veggie soup, rice, and a variety of side dishes. Highly recommend trying her food! If you’re looking for a quiet, scenic, and refreshing place, this is it.

Jeongeup Little Forest, a cozy countryside hideaway for a sensational village vacation

KellyRating, 5 stars4 days ago
I am a foreigner and could not speak Korean. It’s my first time staying in suburb area. I stayed for 4 days 3 nights. I am sad that my room was not available for an extension. I would love to stay longer, maybe a week to immerse in the vibes and interact with hosts (husband and wife) + those 3 cute dogs. Hosts are extremely helpful and tried all ways to reduce our language barrier. ‘Comfortable’ is an understatement for our stay, it is far more than that. It felt surreal to stay there and 4 days passed by in a blink of eyes. There is no issue with daily communication. Count us lucky to have met such accommodating and friendly hosts. We engaged hosts for the heritage tour and learnt about significant historical events. We even made a request to visit Naejangsan and Ssanghwacha street. Both hosts are highly knowledgeable about plants and passionate about the house. They are not obliged to prepare our meals, but they went extra mile to do so. I look forward to food whenever I’m awake.

In the nature of the green, a space of emptiness and rest, a private house in a country house

I visited again in a year, and this time, I was able to heal thanks to the friendly host and cute cats in a quiet and cozy place. There were stylish and gorgeous accommodations everywhere, but when I look back on where I was able to focus on resting with a comfortable mind, I think of Dacheonjae first. I will return to my busy daily life, but I will look forward to the next day when I see you again, remembering the peaceful and happy memories of the Dachae.

Stay Yu-young

My phone was broken, so I'm leaving a review now!! It's late, but I'm writing a review because I have so many good memories of this accommodation. The entrance that reminds me of IU's Night Letter music video🤭 from the courtyard... and the radio music that you played in advance was also very healing. It was pretty with my husband. I took a snap of the film, and I took a nap for thirty minutes in the living room, lying on the floor, listening to the radio. I slept soundly in the morning while listening to the sound of rain, but I actually overslept a little and barely made it to the checkout time:) The host responded right away, so I had a good time without any inconvenience. Unfortunately, the person who made the reservation, Jepon, had a broken LCD from that afternoon, so I didn't read the precautions well and left the trash on the table, but later I🥹 saw that he asked me to take it out. If I get the chance, I want to come again with my family. Anyway, it's quiet, clean, and tidy. It's the best Hanok accommodation. I had a good trip.🤍

It was so nice to be able to spend a peaceful and enjoyable time with the dogs in a beautiful space that was carefully cultivated. The owner gave a thorough explanation at check-in and was considerate so that we could use it comfortably:) Necessary items were very well equipped, so I stayed well without any inconvenience.❤️

i can’t say enough about this place ~ a true hidden gem, especially for those travelers looking for a more nature-filled, peaceful, traditional korean village experience. nestled halfway up one of the mountains in jirisan, katherine’s hanoak house and guest house is near a pristine mountain-fed stream and two Buddhist temples within walking distance. the beautiful villages of hwagae, gurye, and namwon are minutes away by car as well as many hiking trails, hot springs, sauna, and three of the best Buddhist temples (and one of the best buddhist hermitages) in the country. katherine is also an amazing, personable and knowledgeable host with plenty of ideas and suggestions of things to do or events and festivals to attend. a native english speaker and fluent in korean is an added bonus. her guest house is lovingly and artistically furnished and super cozy. looking forward to many future visits…
