Cottage holiday rentals in Shanklin

Wow what an amazing place! The rooms were immaculately clean and the hamper and flowers set out on our arrival were such an unexpected treat. The pods of hot chocolate were a real treat too! Lucy was very quick to help us with an issue with the heating we had. Communication was excellent and the property was easy to find and get in to. A fantastic location, only a few minutes walk to the beach. We will definitely be rebooking when we visit the island again next year. Thank you so much for our best stay on the island so far.

Our second visit here, and will likely come back. Astrid is a great host and the stables are a lovely little space to stay with beautiful surroundings and a great location within the New Forest.

We had a lovely stay at Greenbank. The house was spacious, tidy and clean, and we appreciated the extras provided by the host (towels, toiletries, tea and coffee). The property is just a short walk away from a playground , shop, pharmacy and local places to explore, which we enjoyed investigating. Our 4-year-old loved reading the children's books from around the house and the garden was a lovely spot to play in. We paid to have the hot tub, which we found easy to use and great fun. Great host, we had a lovely stay at Jersey Cottage.

What a lovely welcome as we arrived there was a welcome package with lovely fresh bread and local produce. The Annexe was light and airy and very clean. We used the helpful guide provided for walks and they were great as we had our dog with us. Creech wood was lovely early morning and only a 2minute walk away. The hot tub was lovely to sink into after a long day of walking around. Would highly recommend anyone to stay here and we would love to go back!

This was our second stay at The Old Piggery, and again we absolutely loved it. It’s such a beautiful location. Grant is really helpful.

We had an amazing stay at Ashley’s cottage. The kitchen/living area is absolutely beautiful and suited us as a group of friends when doing breakfast/lunch etc. Our favourite bit of the property has to be the outside area. Having an outdoor shower/toilet, hot tub, kitchen area and bbq just topped off our weekend and we spent most of our time outdoors. A few outdoor games were left in the garden and it gave a good few hours of entertainment for us too! Ashley was super inviting and was very clear with check in instructions etc. The house felt very safe & secure and we all got very good night sleep from comfortable beds. We would love to come back again next year and for years after this!! A really lovely place!

This was a really lovely house and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The kitchen area - the size, brightness, appliances and crockery etc - was the highlight. It was particularly well stocked with some generous goodies left for us. The garden was also lovely - great to eat outside at the large wooden table, as well as enjoying the last of the day’s sun in the corner seating area. The table tennis table was very well used by the 4 of us and great fun. Thanks for a great stay

A beautiful cottage in a beautiful place. ponies on the doorstep,lovely walks,a few local pubs and village shop.Bliss.

Enjoyed our short stay. The property is exactly as described on the listing. Easy to get to Yarmouth and Freshwater and indeed the rest of the IoW. Some property developments close by, but did not disturb us.

What a stunning property, great amenities, private garden and the wider estate was beautiful. Sandra was there to greet us and always available with advise on where to eat locally etc. Sandra allowed us to roam around her gardens and lake, swans, ducks, geese and deer to be found. The two local pubs, both within 10 minute walk were warm and welcoming serving lovely food. The location on the very edge of the New Forest gave is great access to the area. We explored every day and found somewhere new. We would book here again for sure.

Fantastic stay iin cosy comfortable house with all amenities, during Round The Island weekend. Right next to the marina and at one end of the high street. Peaceful. Handy to have the carpark at the back of the residence. Warm welcome with biscuits, tea, coffee.

Lovely little cottage with a secure garden. The village has a fantastic little shop for everything you need and a very friendly village pub with great food.

Our second visit as we love the cottage and its peaceful location. Fresh eggs to eat and on this occasion a deer in the garden makes this thatched cottage something special, and Pam and her husband take great care of the place. This year the internet was much improved, though it didn't bother us last time at all. Watching the ferry come in and out and listening to the geese etc., we really chilled out. Thank you ;-)

From the warm welcome and the homemade brownies to the clean and spacious interior, Bentley Cottage is the perfect place for a New Forest escape. We are already looking forward to our next time!!

Jasmin was a very responsive communicator, as well as accommodating, helpful and friendly. The listing was all that we expected and we were thrilled with its view, how compact, lovely and clean it was. The proximity to the beach and shops/ restaurants was a fairly short walk which added to the ease of seeing things in the area. We would definitely choose to stay again if we went back.

We had a great stay at Sammy's, a beautiful location. The kids felt right at home and the garden was a lovely space for them to run around in. Lovely hamper on arrival too.

A lovely cottage, with all the amenities and comfy beds in a great location. We really enjoyed our 5 night stay and, in particular, the view of the sea, watching the boats sail by, the rabbits and pheasants on the lawn, the woodland walk/costal walks, quirky shops at the fort, being on Yarmouth's doorstep, lighting a real fire at night and sleeping peacfully after a day exploring the beautiful Isle of Wight. A big thank you to our hosts for arranging discounted ferry tickets and a lovely welcome pack. We may be back for more of the same!

We all really enjoyed our stay at Pebble Cottage. There were some lovely local restaurants, like the Crab & Lobster Inn. The house was cosy and the children loved the bunk bed!! Thanks guys

Thank you Andrew, we had a fabulous stay at your beautiful home. It was a very short walk to town and the ferry. The coast restaurant was delicious and would recommend. The shops in town were fun to poke about in. Andrew was very clear with all directions and instructions and was quick to answer any questions I had. It was perfect to have the washer as we were halfway through a two week journey in the UK. The house is very comfortable, bright and plenty of space for us. The shower was amazing, good water pressure and nice hot water. Thank you for hosting us Andrew!

Second time staying at this beautiful cottage. My wife, daughter and I absolutely love this place. The view is stunning, it feels like you are actually over the sea when you're inside. The location is great as it is a short walk along to Ventnor beachfront. David is a really nice guy and always responds really quickly to any questions. Couldn't recommend here any more. 10/10!

Had an amazing stay, Brading House was practically in the centre of everything we wanted to do! There were plenty of bus routes to tourist locations, like Sandown to see the pier and wildlife sanctuary, Shanklin beach and Chine, a bus runs through from Ryde to Sandown and there’s lots to do along the way, like stopping off at the Wishing Well Inn to check out the Mermaid Distillery- We had a lovely dinner at The Bugle Inn and went down to the Brading Roman Villa too.

My daughter and I just loved the cottage. The garden is immaculate and the cottage is comfortable and well stocked. We were particularly impressed with the attention to detail in the cottage from the furnishings to the night lights. Ian was a fantastic host. He was communicative and responsive throughout our stay. The cottage is also well situated, giving easy access to places of interest in the area.

Usually we stay at an Airbnb because we’re exploring a particular destination, but Alison’s place was lovely enough to be the destination in its own right. If you like stone country farmhouse charm, beautiful gardens, tranquility, hearing nothing but birdsong in the morning, and an exceptionally friendly on site host, then you’ll love this place. You have one double story wing of a farmhouse complex. While the building is old, the interior has been very thoughtfully and tastefully designed, very clean and with everything you might need. Just be aware of the stairs. They are quite steep. We’re in our 60s and had no problems, but older or less mobile people might. Of course Isle of Wight has lots of attractions and we found this a great base to explore from. Alison was on hand to give advice about what to see and where to go. We’d have loved to stay longer and know exactly where we’ll be staying if we ever make it back to the island.
