Kid-friendly holiday rentals in Shawnee Mission

Staying in the basement apartment of Aric and his family was a truly comforting experience! I was traveling alone with my 9-month old and I felt very safe and taken care of. They were both attentive, responsive, and thoughtful in putting out age-appropriate toys and a play mat on top of the pack n’ play and high chair I’d requested. I had one incident in failing to properly enter the door code resulting in locking myself out, but Aric was prompt with his help and was able to get me inside quickly. I had no further issues with the lock after I realized I should’ve read Aric’s check in instructions closer to see that I should’ve been pulling the door towards me as I entered the code. Would highly recommend staying here!

Everything was just great. Will definitely stay here again, next time I am in town. Would recommend Olivia’s place to everyone visiting the area.

This stay was great! Host was super responsive and house was gorgeous. Walkable to some locations including an ice cream shop and drivable to several others easily. Would stay again

Bryan’s home was very lovely and very clean. Bryan was quick to respond and very polite. The neighborhood was nice and quiet. I spent most of my time sitting out back enjoying the beautiful yard and the beautiful plants and flowers. I didn’t understand why there were earplugs in every room until I finally heard the trains, lol. My boyfriend really enjoyed the trains. I would definitely recommend Bryan’s home to anyone who enjoys nature and and a beautiful home away from home place to stay. I will definitely stay here again whenever I come back to Kansas! Thank you so much again.

We stayed here while visiting a family member in the hospital, and it was just what we needed. The space was clean, comfortable, and easy to find. The host provided clear instructions, making check-in and our stay stress-free. Would definitely recommend for anyone looking for a quiet and convenient place to stay.

We stayed at this house for a PBR baseball tournament. Location was great, very convenient and accessible. House is an older home that has been updated in an older neighborhood…very quiet. Kitchen was stocked with everything needed. We would definitely stay here again.

Steve and Mary have a beautiful house. I loved that they checked in to see how things were going. They gave us an extra hour for check out which was amazing getting 7 children out the door. We would definitely consider staying with them again.❤️❤️

Nice little quaint place and super clean. Shower in Master Bathroom was absolutely amazing! Both beds extremely comfortable as well and we were told about a few places near us that were convenient and helpful. Holy Grounds coffee is excellent!

2 bedroom, 2 bath for us two couples with nice size bedrooms. Spacious living and dining combination room. Kitchen was good sized and was well appointed with dishes, coffee maker, and pots & pans. We were there for a wedding in Bonner Springs. Our 4 night stay included some tourist sights and wedding events in downtown KC which was a less than a 30 minute drive away. We would definitely stay there again.

Lovely, clean, and well-stocked place to stay! It was so generous of our host to have a few cold drinks and snacks available, after a long travel day, it made it feel like home. Lots of top-notch little parks nearby to go for a stroll.

Clean, secure, safe, cozy. Cool area by the Library. The Streetcar (free) stops directly outside the building. This spot is not in the dead center of the restaurant districts, which just means it's a little quieter. You can get to the trendy parts of downtown with a 5-20-minute walk (or a 3-10-minute Streetcar ride). So, great location. The apartment is super clean. Everything works and looks nearly brand new. It's a well-kept space. Washer/dryer, dishwasher, smart TVs in the bedroom and living room. No concerns about security. Parking is in a gated deck beside the apartment. The security guard on duty is incredibly helpful - don't hesitate to call them for help finding the parking (if needed) or a general overview of the building. The gym in the building is well-equipped with a variety of machines and weights. Saved me a drive to Planet Fitness. Savannah was quick to respond to any questions I had and communicated well. Bonus: The shower heads are great for people 3'-8' tall!

My friends and I loved staying here. We had stayed for a week to celebrate a birthday and the place was very cozy and clean. The furnishings were great, and our hosts were very receptive and friendly. They had even gotten a bonfire started in the fire pit for us so we could enjoy their lovely patio in the back yard. The location is safe and walkable, with a restaurant plaza within walking distance full of great options. For the price, location, and all of the amenities, this place is a gem to say at, and Brian and Kari were gracious hosts who made sure we stayed comfortable for the entire stay. Would highly recommend!

We enjoyed staying here. So relaxing, comfortable, clean, stocked with supplies and treats. Everything, including a comfortable bed, that we needed for a good stay. The patio was our favorite spot to listen to the distance trains and fun birds. (so close to get on freeways too)

I can't rave enough about these hosts. I had a lot of questions and they were prompt to respond. I also worked with them to have birthday decorations hanging for my daughter as a surprise when we arrived. From the weeks before to the trip, everything about my interactions with them was 5-star. The one piece of feedback I have for anyone considering this as a stay is that if you have any mobility issues, it might not be the right place for you because of the inconsistency of the elevator working. It worked when we got there, then broke, was fixed and broke again within a few hours. The stairwell is winding and narrow and I know it's out of the control of the hosts, but it's something to keep in mind. That being said, even though it was out of their control they did issue me a small refund for the inconvenience.

Good location and easy to find. On the third floor so if you are not able to use the stairs it might not be a good fit for you.

Definitely a one of a kind great vibe inside and out! Plus, La Bodega, a tapa spot that has been around for years, sits right across the street and couldn't be a better match for this Airbnb! In addition, it's clear that Jake pays just as much attention to his hosting skills as he does to the details in this unique place. Well worth the stay!

A tremendous host and a fantastic rental. Kansas City is an underrated American city and this location puts you right in the heart of it all!

This was a great little condo for our work/visit. Comfortable bed. We slept well from the first night. The location is very walkable. Coffee and sandwiches just blocks away!

Everything was as expected and the neighborhood was nice and quiet. Safe, easy walk to Westport restaurants & shops. The sculpture park was a nice treat! Stephanie was proactive with communication and the condo was clean & cozy.
