Holiday rentals with a fireplace in Shetland Islands

North Roe kirk is a fantastic property. The furnishings and facilities are top notch. The view from the living room is amazing. Looking over to Yell, you could sit and watch the weather and light for hours. We loved our stay here. One of the best places we have stayed at.

This is our fourth stay at Muckle Roe Chapel and, with luck, we’ll be back again. Can’t imagine anywhere better to stay for enjoying Shetland, whether out sightseeing, walking, cycling, swimming or sitting by the window watching the sun and clouds on the water and hills. House is warm, bright, tidy and very well-equipped.

I loved every minute of my time at the Nurse's Annex. A lovely new build with excellent amenities. Plenty of books, puzzles, maps etc. The owner, Lindsay, brought me every volume of the Shetland Wool Week journal to read once she heard I was a knitter. And Yell may have no restaurants but has the most magical scenery. You can get excellent local food (even strawberries) from the nearby shop, or drive to the Old Ha for tea and cake and history. Stunning beaches and excellent walks too. Shetland Gallery worth a stop if you are interested in Shetland crafts and art.

We loved our stay at Ingrid’s cottage. The house was very comfortable and cosy. It was lovely sitting at the table overlooking the bay where we could watch the fishing boats come and go. Ingrid was friendly, helpful and a delight to deal with. I loved looking at the knitting books and even tried the maakin belt that was in the cottage . A wonderful stay.

Charming cottage in excellent location! Cozy and comfortable, appreciated the extras like welcome basket with fresh bread, coffee, milk & more. Responsive host who went above & beyond to make our trip perfect. Thank you Averill & Graham.

Amazing quiet place with a wonderful view. Spacious house with everything you need for stay. We really didn't want to leave and hope to return one day.

We were going to Shetland for a family birthday and Carole helped with recommendations in advance for getting a cake organised which was excellent. Ina's cakes and bakes was fantastic House was brilliant well equipped lots of space and walking distance from a small beautiful beach. Views out across the bay were stunning Ample parking for multiple cars. Carole was easy to contact and quick to respond when i had a question. House is fairly central for exploring the islands and Carole's directions were spot on and made perfect sense. We had a really enjoyable week.

From the time I booked our stay Verinia and Michael were happy to answer questions and give advice. They were helpful and very accommodating with allowing us to check in/check out , early/late to tie in with the Ferry times. Their friendly nature made us feel at home immediately. The house was great in every way. Verinia had thought of everything - a fully equipped kitchen, soap and shower gel in the bathroom and a variety of towels etc. We spent an amazing 5 days at the house. Very relaxing and felt like home from home. The bed is exceptionally comfy. I had the best sleep in a very long time. The house is literally 2 minutes walk from the main shopping street, restaurants and cafes and 5 mins walk from the harbour. It couldn’t have been in a better location. We couldn’t fault both the hosts or the house in any way. Thank you Verinia and Michael for making our first Airbnb experience such a good one. We wouldn’t hesitate to book with you again.

Highly recommended for a nice place to stay in Lerwick. Easy walking distance to the harbour and high street, right next to a shop, and tucked back from the road so very quiet.

Our third stay at the Fisher's Croft. Just lovely. Peaceful, private, and very relaxing. Julie is a pleasure to deal with. Our stays have always been so enjoyable--obviously since we keep coming back!

So glad we chose Violet's apartment for our stay in Shetland. It is near Lerwick town centre and within minutes walking distance of the shops, cafes and visitor activities, but just far enough away for a quiet and relaxing stay. The apartment is spacious and very comfortable, clean and smart, always warm and cosy. The kitchen is well appointed and with quality white goods too. The shower was one of the best I have ever experienced. Violet is very friendly and welcoming, she stayed in contact to be sure to meet us when we arrived. We had a fabulous stay in Shetland, Violet's friendliness and thoughtfulness, the comfort of the apartment, and the location made it a very memorable trip.

Absolutely amazing hosts, so attentive with great recommendations and so helpful. Was able to check in earlier and check out later as hosts were aware of ferry times. Quick response times, the MOST amazing views from accommodation overlooking Scalloway. Could not have ask for a better stay in this beautiful home with fantastic hosts. Always available to ask for suggestions and recommendations, went above and beyond for us during our stay and will definitely be returning.
