You can even set up a tent to practice camping and enjoy a BBQ! The interior varies depending on the season. Local priority. It is rural and the mountains are close, so insects will always come out. It is not suitable for those who don't like insects, small children, or those who are worried. We do not accept groups who want to make noise, party use, or minors who smoke or drink. There is an animal fence in the area around the ⚠️villa, so there is no bear damage. Monkeys, don't come close, but please don't leave food or trash outside.

Our guesthouse is in a beautiful mountain village, near to it are pristine forests with beech trees and an ancient mountain path that was used to carry sea products from Japan sea to Kyoto in old days. In front of the guesthouse runs a stream that is a source of Lake Biwa and its water is crystal clear ; in early summer nights many fireflies fly over the stream. In winter, we have a lot of snow ; sometimes it reaches 2 meters from the ground! On clear nights you can enjoy the sky full of stars.

To ensure you enjoy the stay to the fullest, I set check-in and check-out time to both 12:00 Noon. So you can stay up for 24 hours with one night booking. YAMANOTE HOUSE is accessible from major Kansai stations with 37min from Kyoto Sta. or 65min from Osaka Sta. If you come by car from Kyoto it takes less than 1 hour. The area aournd the house is once small castle town. The house is located next to the Shrine, Hiyoshi-Jinja, where the Omizo Festival is held on May 3 and 4 every year.
