In great location a pleasant 10 minute walk, via the riverside from the historic city centre, with its many attractions and numerous options for shopping and entertainment. Could accommodate baby if necessary and I will provide travel cot and high chair if required at no extra cost. However, guests must provide own bedding and other requirements for baby feeding etc.

Very convenient to train station and city center (though lots of stairs if you have luggage). Well equipped and clean. Host responded promptly about small things that weren’t working. We would have loved to have salt and pepper available, but coffee, tea, biscuits were a nice touch.

Chantelle’s cottage is lovely and great to have both a bathroom and an en-suite. We greatly appreciated the bottle of wine and welcome card plus kitchen staples Chantelle had organised. Unfortunately we didn’t have a lot of success with connecting to the internet but we managed okay.

This property was perfect for our requirement. The location was outside the city centre, with a large supermarket 10mins walk away and a regular bus service 5mins away. It was a quiet and pleasant area. Monica communicated well before our arrival and was a lovely host. We also enjoyed chatting to her husband about Durham and his music projects! We mainly ate out, although did cook our own breakfast. I would have felt comfortable using the kitchen more. During our stay, it felt like Monica was available if we had needed anything, but was extremely courteous and respectful of us sharing the living spaces.

This was a great and affordable alternative to a hotel for a 3 day stay. The apartment was a good size and had everything we needed including a very big bed. Athough the property is located outside of central Durham there are convenient and frequent buses to the centre. And parking in the center was easy and not expensive. The only problem we had was knowing which one was our apartment and finding the lockbox but this was mainly down to us not reading the instructions in sufficient detail.

Great base to visit Durham and all the surrounding areas( north/south shields/beamish etc). Great little pub just over the road in the very pretty village of Shincliffe. Simon( host) was very responsive to any queries and popped in to see us, super friendly and chatty. Accommodation was lovely and clean.
