House holiday rentals in Skelwith Bridge

We had an amazing stay! The cottage was just as described and in the perfect location so we hardly had to use the car at all and were able to walk to Windermere, Bowness and Brockhole with our two girls ( 13 and 8). The use of the nearby pool was an added bonus after a day in the mountains. We’ll definitely be back! 😀

We have just returned from a lovely weekend at Badgers Rest. The home was beautifully clean, had everything we needed and in a great location. The facilities were amazing nearby too.

The lodge was fabulous, really enjoyed our stay. I even picked up a couple of decor ideas. Had a lovely time feeding the ducks, swans and other wildlife, very relaxing. Shops and amenities easy to get to by car, lovely restaurants around the area. Would absolutely recommend.

I'd stay at Jackie's place again whenever I next visit no question. Good price, and the place is exactly as she's described. And whenever I messaged her she always responded back to me within 30mins at most which is excellent

House was as described, beautiful setting with wonderful views of the hills and mountains. Rooms are spacious with comfy beds and bathrooms are nicely finished with good showers. Kitchen is a good size and has all required implements. A great location for exploring the central lakes and soaking up all that Ambleside has to offer.

Our family had a lovely stay at Burrowbank at the end of the summer holiday. The house is fantastic with all the facilities you could ask for. The kids loved the swings and most of all the pool, while the covered (heated) BBQ area meant evening meals outside watching the sunset. Great location and setting, very private and we would definitely come again and recommend to others. Martyn and Christine were very helpful and went the extra mile (even posting my daughter’s disposable camera that she left behind). Can’t think of any negatives and we made some great/happy memories.

Wow, wow, wow. Absolutely perfect! Delightful cottage in a peaceful, private location but a short distance from Windermere and Bowness. The property was spotless, comfortable, and had everything we needed. Stunning views. We are already planning our next stay!

Very comfortable and cosy place. Easy communication. Lovely bedrooms, fantastic en suite bathroom. Well equipped kitchen - kids loved the hot chocolate maker. The location is wonderfully central in Ambleside which itself is the best spot for exploring the whole Lakes area. Parking permit for local car park and the 1 hour parking outside the front door is perfect when arriving and leaving. Great stay thank you

This is just a stunning place - situated in a beautiful valley with views of the far mountains. House was full of character, all amenities we wanted were there, and just loved being able to walk from the house.

We had a wonderful stay here and made amazing memories. The surroundings were stunning, and we felt right at home. We loved the cottage and the little touches made the stay even better - the brownies were to die for. Rosie was a great host, and we’d love to come back in the near future.

We have just returned home from 4 nights at Julie's ex-guesthouse and we absolutely loved it. We were a group of 5 adults, a 9 year old and 18 month old and there was space for all of us. Each room has its own ensuite and the kitchen is well stocked. The whole place was very clean and the utility room is also massive which helps if you need to do any washing while staying there. We will definitely look to use Julie's place again in the future. Julie replied in good time to any messages and is very friendly. Highly recommend as a great place to get around the Lakes from too.

A really lovely Airbnb set in a lovely location conveniently situated about 15 minutes walk from Windermere town Centre We found the property to be exactly as described in the reviews and we couldn’t fault the place.Everything we needed was at hand and the amenities at the property were really excellent.. The house was spotlessly clean, modern and excellently maintained. We found the lovely secluded garden a lovely place to meet for afternoon/evening drinks in the sunshine.. We did experience very cool and inclement weather for the month of June and the addition of Sky/Netflix TV and central heating a great addition for our holiday.. The host was very accommodating and easy to contact at the end of a text or a telephone call. Would I recommend this property? Absolutely !! It’s just a really lovely Airbnb

Really comfortable cottage, very well equipped in a great location. Easy to get to local attractions and great walks from the door. Close enough to visit the lakes but far enough away from hustle and bustle. Would definitely recommend.

We had a wonderful stay at Andrew’s place. The house is full of charm, combining historic character with modern comforts. Everything was spotless, well-equipped, and thoughtfully arranged. The location was peaceful yet well-connected, making it a great base for exploring the Lake District. Check-in was smooth with clear instructions, and the Wi-Fi worked perfectly. Andrew was responsive and made us feel very welcome. Highly recommend this home to anyone visiting the area — we’d definitely stay again!

Beautiful place with stunning surroundings. Responsive host. Well catered for. Very comfortable space with beautiful view. Use of bbq and comfy outdoor seating in the sunny weather was perfect. The place is ideally located within walking distance of local shops. Would return in a heartbeat.

A very rare find in the lakes! Beautifully presented property which a huge amount of space. A great base for families or small groups of friends keen to explore the surrounding areas. Sarah was a perfect host, helping us with whatever we needed throughout the stay. We’ll do our very best to return!

Huntingstile South is the most beautiful home we’ve ever stayed in. The location is like a dream and we couldn’t have asked for better communication from Kate, nothing was too much trouble. We will be back again and again! X

I don't think we could have found anywhere better to stay in Bowness-on-Windermere. The apartment is very spacious and immaculately clean. It is fully equipped, well furnished and tastefully decorated. An electrical fault with the boiler was resolved soon after arrival by the owner with good communication through our host Hannah. The location is excellent within easy walk to all shops, bars and restaurants and there is a bus stop outside the door. The car parking space was also very useful. I highly recommend you stay here. An excellent, comfortable and quiet apartment convenient to all you need. Great shower, comfortable beds and plenty of towels provided. Highly recommended.

We loved our stay at Easter How, it was perfect for our family get together. The gardens are gorgeous and our daughter's dog enjoyed exploring all the different paths. My dad enjoyed feeding the birds so thank you for providing the food for that too! It really was a home from home, so comfortable with great facilities and in such a tranquil setting. We enjoyed walking to High Dam Tarn a couple of times too, the second time we took the easier route through the field as my parents found the steep climb tough going the first time. Justin (co-host) kept us updated and we had the added bonus of meeting him when he dropped off some coffee beans! Richmond House is by far the best & most luxurious AirBNB we have stayed in in the UK. Everything about the place is gorgeous, well thought out, extremely comfortable & practical. The kitchen has pretty much everything you could need, induction hot plate is awesome & the oven makes a wonderful roast! There was even EcoVer dishwashing liquid & Lakes hand wash & hand cream. This is such a lovely touch having something natural & not doused overly scented commercial products. The bedding & towels were definitely next level & the beds were super super comfy (medium latex topped) with serene bedroom furnishings - absolutely fabulous sleep in a very quiet neighbourhood. We dealt with Otto & found him to be very helpful, friendly & a pleasure. He also arranged for a lovely welcome gift that was gratefully received. The only thing to make staying here even better would be to have a personal chef so that you could just absorb the lux nature of Richmond House. Thank you Otto for creating this!
