“Our stay at Smith Mountain Lake was perfect. It was just what we needed for a long weekend getaway. This location is right on the water and has everything that you need to enjoy your time away. You are close enough to everything to enjoy all that Smith Mountain Lake offers but not once was it overly crowded. The condo was very clean and comfy, everything about it was great! We hope to be back again with our kids. The back porch overlooking the mountains and lake was so peaceful to sit out on in the evenings. The WiFi is a little hard to connect to, that just meant I had to do little work. It was actually a win win for me!”

“Wow! This place was a serious *FIND*. And to think we just randomly saw it on Airbnb when casting about for someplace to break up the self-quarantining monotony! We all agreed it was the best place we’ve rented in long time! A lot about it caught our eye — but especially the elaborate-looking dock with second-story sunning deck and **a diving board**. Our 13 year old and 10 year old must have gone off it 200 times, making great memories (and so many videos!). We rented a pontoon boat on the last of our five days there, and cruising by checking out all the other boat houses on the lake, I didn't see a diving board on a single one. So, this place is truly special — a kids’ dream. Well, and an adult's dream, too. I should add that we really appreciated having access to the boat house closet full of rafts, tubes, fishing poles and life vests — all of which we used. We also swooned every day about the overall beauty of the property. Nestled deep in a quiet cove, it has just the right amount of landscaping, flat clearings, hills, untouched woods, beach, deep water for swimming, tubing and leaping from the dock, and the sunset views from the large outdoor dining table are amazing. We literally could not stop taking pictures. Our dogs adored the place, too, and would start each day with a dip in the water at the little beach on the property then would run all around on the wooded part of the acreage, and race each other along the trail from the beach to the boat house. Our goldens had the time of their lives, as did our young Havanese who swam for the first time in her life, chasing the goldens into the water. I’m so very grateful that the host, Stacia, not only allowed dogs in her gorgeous place, but allowed *three* dogs without balking about that being too many. Being with my dogs in a setting like that just fills my soul, and theirs. And the fact the property sits deep in a sleepy cove was perfect for water fun with the dogs. The house, with three bedrooms, was the perfect size for our family of four (humans), and we really appreciated how modern and inviting the decor is — in contrast to a lot of the other properties we were looking at. The kitchen is gorgeous, with a huge island, and we loved spending lots of time there cooking all our meals, quarantining as we were. Stacia and Amy were very friendly and responsive from the moment the house caught our eye and we had questions, all the way through check out when we found that our giant inflatable flamingo wouldn't deflate and they helped us find some pliers at a neighbor’s place, which did the trick. Also, we left some clothes behind after check out, and they offered to send them to us. Very sweet! Customer service grade: A+. This was cool, too: The property is near the end of a very quiet peninsula, and about a four minute walk to Parkway Marina, which rents boats and waverunners. The location was just perfect. When one of the dogs would get loose and go on a walkabout (or rather a run- and swimabout), I didn’t worry, as there’s almost no traffic down there — neither foot nor car. I saw more deer than I did people. Will we be back? Yes! ASAP, though just after we booked, the place filled up for the rest of the summer. Oh man! So we’ll need to hurry and book in the fall. Also, we’ll have to complete with friends and family; we posted many, many pictures of the property on Facebook raving about what an awesome time we were having there, and between the two of us, about 20 people wrote us wanting info on the place, and they now have it. Eeek! ;) The only negative I can come up with: There’s no dining area inside the house. There are two dining areas outside, which are lovely, but wouldn't work for a wintertime stay. But really, that’s me grasping at straws for something critical to say to balance out this effusive review. ;) Thank you, Stacia and Amy, for everything. Your property is magical, and it deeply charmed all seven of us — humans and dogs alike. And your hosting as top notch! We’ll be back! Suz and <arty”
