Stone Cottage in Grounds of a 16th-Century Castle

The cottage sits on the grounds of a castle dating back to 1543 offering an authentic stay. The interior retains a decor that matches the historic charm of the area with modern comforts added and a shared pool in the stunning gardens outside. This is our smallest cottage and cannot take an additional bed or cot. The other cottages are all larger and can do this. All 3 cottages can be rented separately or together. They are in the grounds of a 16th century castle with beautiful gardens and large swimming pool enclosed by stone walls. The lower salon and summer kitchen in the main chateau is available to share. Access is by the side garden gate and all cottages are accessed by stone steps- sadly not suitable for wheelchairs. We will most likely be present living in the main Chateau and available to help and advise about restaurants and things to do in the area. We will share the pool and gardens. The old village is in a beautiful part of France that is has retained its iconic beauty through the centuries and still feels untouched by modern life in many places. Experience true local dining and bakeries with scenic walking trails all around. parking is in the church square below the Chateau. There is a local taxi service in the village and bus service to Avignon, Banyols sur Ceze and Uzes but car hire is recommended. We are 20 minutes from Avignon TGV rail station and about an hour from Marseille, Nimes or Montpellier airports. The cottages are completely private and tranquil.

Between Avignon and Nimes, on the edge of the historic town of Uzès, "La Petite Garrigue" is a characterful Provençal cottage set in extensive grounds of outstanding natural beauty with a vast, heated swimming pool. Recently renovated by experienced hosts, it has a 4 star holiday rental property rating. Each of its three double bedrooms has a shower room/WC, and air conditioning. Its large shaded dining terrace, boulodrome and parking area with ev charging make it the perfect holiday haven.

Close to Pont du Gard (40 min walk, 3 min drive), on a hillside overlooking nature drawn by its rivers and vineyards, the Petit Gîte will seduce you with its sweetness of life and sunny climate 300 days a year. Guests can take advantage of the outdoor area with private swimming pool (counter-current swimming), beautiful terrace and private access to the pétanque court. A beautiful path will lead you to the cottage in total independence thanks to the individual automated gate.

Le Mazet Voyageur

Attached to the back of the main Mazet, the small Mazet is an independent, bright cottage, equipped with a kitchen and designed for 2 guests. Its atypical, cozy, intimate decoration is an invitation to travel in the image of the family of traveling artists, owner of the place. Duplex bathroom, small swimming pool among the vineyards, pretty land where olive and oak trees grow. Calm, luxury and pleasure await you at the gates of the Cévennes and Anduze. Welcome!

Immersed in nature and on the banks of the Gardon, this farmhouse is located in a property of more than 3 hectares. It offers many activities on site (swimming/table tennis/bocce/Voie Lactée, etc.) as well as nearby (craft markets, steam train, hiking, caves, biking, canyoning, tree climbing, etc.) Just a little further, Mont Aigoual (45 km), Nîmes (55 km), Uzes and the Pont du Gard (50 km), the Camargue: the sea is 1.5 hours away. Domaine de Bagard – Fig Tree Cottage 55 m² 4/8 pers

The Domaine de Bagard is the legacy of an old hamlet of the medieval village of Sauve. It then became a magnanerie (silkworm farm). It covers 11 hectares, on the side of a hill of garrigue, typical of the Cévennes foothills. In the middle of the Domaine flows a natural spring (a true Vauclusian-type resurgence) and below the Vidourle river. In this setting of old stones and nature, 22 authentic and sometimes very picturesque cottages are waiting for you.

Old Farmhouse with pool & garden

This farmhouse from 1610, 1 minute away from Sommières by car. You will be in a peaceful setting with no street noise and a 9x4m pool to cool yourself on hot summer days. The garden goes down to the river where one can go fishing. From certain spots you can see the Chapelle Saint Julien from the XIth century as well as the château de Sommières. There is a brasero and a pizza oven outside to enjoy time together outside.
