This is a small mountain village in the Nakayama Mountains in southern Shiga Prefecture, where the countryside spreads out with seasonal rural landscapes, birds chirping, and the sound of insects as BGM. At night, it is dark except for the street lights, and the starry sky is beautiful and quiet. You can stay overnight and eat out, or cook with family and friends in the kitchen. We have rice and rice ball ingredients that farmers are proud of, so please cook them in a clay pot or rice cooker. If you don't cook, you can take it home. To sleep, you will sleep on a tatami bed with a futon (long size) and sheets, and a feather futon. (The fourth person will be on a simple bed) Towel quilts are available in summer and blankets and electric blankets are available in winter. Access is 1 km, about 2 minutes, from the Sugiyama intersection on National Route 307, entering Prefectural Route 5 towards Kizu. It is 11 km from Shinmeishinraku IC, 21 km from Naha-Kokusai-Tomei-no IC, 36 km from Keijibypass-Kasagi IC, and about 2 minutes on foot after getting off at Sugiyama bus stop on the Asakura line. Please let us know at time of booking as we can pick you up and drop you off at the nearest station, Shinraku Kogen Railway Shinraku Station. Area It is located 30 minutes by car from Nara City, on the land of the Yagyu clan, who supported the Edo period as the swordsmanship guide of the shogunate family during the Edo period and the Tokugawa period. It is the origin of Japanese Bushido, and the village of the sword master Yagyu clan that supported the Edo period for 260 years. It is an area where the original Japanese landscape of "satoyama" still remains. [Nara Yagyu Residence (Facility Information)] It is a typical old Japanese house. Guests will stay on the second floor. You can enjoy the natural scenery from the 2nd floor. The host sleeps on the first floor. The kitchen, Japanese-style room, bath, and toilet on the first floor are shared. Since it is an old house in the countryside, sometimes insects come into the room. [This is a room-only plan without meals] There is no convenience store or supermarket nearby, so be sure to buy food, etc. in the city. I am the owner of the restaurant "Yagyu Chaya". This unique accommodation has its own style. Newly built and opened in October 2023. The host lives in the management room on the first floor, but you can use the space almost as if you were renting the entire building. The entire second floor is private. In addition to the spacious living/dining/kitchen area centered around the Graph Tek island kitchen, the villa's most distinctive space, the Sky Terrace, features outdoor sofas, a sauna (available from 6:00 PM to 10:00 PM), a Jacuzzi, and a projector with a screen up to 100 inches for enjoying movies and more. In addition, there is a full-fledged BBQ grill made by the Canadian company Broil King (now Weber due to circumstances), so you can enjoy a barbecue at any time, and you can also enjoy it with a glamping feel. (It is better to prepare thick-cut steak for the BBQ grill rather than meat for yakiniku.) For sightseeing, it is very convenient, as it is located near the nearest JR Kizu Station, which is about 36 minutes by express train to Kyoto Station, about 60 minutes by express train to Osaka Station, and about 6 minutes by express train to Nara Station.

You can feel nature in the mountains around you, and you may occasionally encounter deer. There is also a washing machine and gas stove, so I think you can have a comfortable long-term stay. We can also pick you up, but please let us know in advance. * Depending on the time of year, snakes and vipers may appear. We have sprinkled snake repellent, but they still occasionally appear.
