Cabin holiday rentals in Southwest Harbor

Beautiful place, quiet and peaceful location. Appreciated that the master bedroom was downstairs, while the kids were upstairs. Lake is huge, and is super quiet, only saw 1 boat on the water while we were there. Nice fire pit with wood included. Hot tub was a a big hit. Would definitely rent again :)

I wish I could give this place and host more than 5 stars! Deirdre was incredibly sweet and extremely fast to respond to any questions we had. The cabin was cozy, clean, and just what we were looking for! Our trip revolved around hiking Acadia NP, and while this Airbnb was about an hour drive to the main part of the park, it was WELL worth it. It was away from the busyness and very quiet peaceful and private. Plus it’s only about 15 mins to the Schoodic peninsula! There’s a small path to some rocks you can sit on and relax by the ocean, which after a long day of hiking was perfect! Bonus- We were able to see the northern lights from there!! All in all this place was 10/10 and I highly recommend. If I ever get the chance to return to Maine, I would absolutely love to stay here again!!

We had a wonderful time! The views and amenities were amazing. We had a blast using the kayaks and the living space was lovely to wind down in after an eventful day exploring the outdoors. It was the perfect spot for our party of 6. We look forward to returning one day!

We stayed at the Bambi Inn on Art Farm and loved everything about it! The space is thoughtfully designed with cheerful custom art and decor. The hosts designed a custom manual/booklet that blows the typical air bnb binder out of the water. The home was well equipped with everything you might need from extra blankets & towels, to kitchen and bathroom needs, first aid supplies, sunscreen, bugspray, and more. It’s impossible not to smile when arriving at the Bambi Inn. The hosts provide bicycles to use for the short ride to beautiful Lamoine Beach. We were able to get to Acadia National Park, Bar Harbor, and other neighboring towns with ease. I’d highly recommend booking here!

Blackberry Cottage is so cozy and quaint. Suzanne is a fantastic hostess and is quick to respond if needed. The cabin is on property with other cabins, but this one feels secluded so you feel you are in a private location. The cabin was clean and the kitchen had all of the amenities we needed for our stay. We stopped and picked up groceries on the way in so we could cooks a few meals during our stay. The only suggestion I would make is to provide some sort of solid covering for the bathroom window apart from the lace curtain. There are woods next to the bathroom, but it would be more comfortable when showering at night if we had the option to cover the window with a shade or solid curtain.

Overall, we had a very peaceful and smooth stay at this beautiful cabin! We found it with no troubles, hosts were very responsive, and the boats and board games were nice touches. We had a few minor issues (coffee container was empty and firewood costs were a bit steep), but we’d recommend the cabin and would love to come back.

We stayed at the Calm Breezes cabin with our 7 month old and two labradoodles. It was perfect for our trip to Acadia, comfortable, quaint, clean and so peaceful /beautiful setting. The town also has amazing restaurants - just a few minutes down the road. Would definitely come back / recommend to anyone visiting Acadia!

This was our second time staying here. We love the beautiful and peaceful setting. Lots to do in the surrounding areas but also we love relaxing at the house by just sitting on the dock with a good book or kayaking/fishing in Hobbs Pond.

Alan was wonderful about communicating with us before, during and after our visit regarding minor issues (e.g. the previous guest had not left the key where we'd been told it would be). The place is charming and very clean and we will definitely rent again when we plan the next trip to Acadia.

This was a return visit to Butch’s beautiful property and the Owenta Cottage. Once again, both the cottage and the surrounding landscape afforded us a peaceful relaxing week unplugged from the chaos of city life. It is not far if you want to make the drive to Acadia, a day trip is easy. In addition to our time on the property, we had a wonderful dinner at the Arborvine restaurant in Blue Hill, tremendous pizza from Blaze, and explored the Blue Hill bookstore. Thank you Butch for your hospitality once again and for sharing this wonderful space with us!

My husband and I spent a wonderful week at Judith’s cottage in Deer Isle. Judith, her partner Linda, and Kate (Linda's daughter) were incredibly welcoming—always kind, helpful, and full of great recommendations about the area, from hiking trails and restaurants to local shops and the island’s fascinating history. We truly enjoyed our conversations with them, and they were also very respectful of our privacy. The cottage is rustic but cozy and comfortable, with everything we needed for a relaxing stay. The Wi-Fi worked well, and the garden and views of the cove were beautiful. It’s also a great location for exploring Deer Isle, the Blue Hill Peninsula, and even Acadia National Park. We’re grateful for the hospitality and would gladly return!

Our family enjoyed our second trip to Bar Harbor. Our stay at Diana’s cottage was perfect. The location was close enough to town and easy to get around the island. 10-20 minutes to most anywhere we wanted to go. The home was clean and the hosts on property were the best! The master bed was comfortable and we had everything we needed. The first part of our stay was chilly and it was so lovely having the fireplace in the living room and then A/C once it warmed up later in the week. We are already looking at dates for our next trip!

The cottage is charming and comfortable, with a lovely, well-thought-out design. The host was thoughtful and very responsive. I really appreciated the rustic style and high-quality touches throughout. It made for a relaxing and enjoyable stay.

Such a tranquil setting! Centrally located on Mount Desert Island. Easy to get to Bar Harbor and Southwest Harbor. The cabin is ideal for a couple. Very private. Couldn’t really see nearby homes through the surrounding trees. Naomi was very responsive and proactive in communicating with us. Great value!

We had lots of fun at the Blueberry Cabin. We enjoyed the beautiful acreage, including daffodils, and sightings of deer and turkey. The cabin smells like wood, exactly how you hoped it would. The deck is lovely, lowkey and looks out onto the field expanse. At Marc's cabin, you'll have everything you need for a lovely stay. Lastly, Marc is a responsive and gracious host. We absolutely loved the cabin. Every day I would do my morning meditation on the porch and sit out there for a good hour listening and smelling the beautiful air. There's so much to do in the area. It was a perfect place to celebrate our anniversary.

I cannot say enough great things about our stay here. The outdoor shower is absolutely incredible; so well crafted! If you’re looking at the listing and hesitant to book due to the toilet situation - don’t be! It was cleaner than quite a few other places we’ve stated that had “real” bathrooms. The cabin itself had everything we needed and more (comfortable bed, extra blankets, anything you’d need to cook simple meals, etc.). Everything was very clean and the rules & checkout instructions were very clear, which was great because that is definitely not always the case when you book a place. Bethany is a gracious and responsive host and the area is incredible. If you’re looking for a place in this area, I highly recommend staying here if it’s available for your dates!

Such a cozy and peaceful getaway spot. All of our needs were met and we all slept amazingly - super comfortable bedding!! It was wonderful to wake up with the sunlight shining down on the trees. One note - the stairs are noisy so if there are people sleeping while you head down to use the restroom you might disturb their slumber!

There isn't anything I would change about this beautiful family built camp cabin in the woods or our trip. It was just my husband, five year old daughter and me and we enjoyed the cove , the flora and fauna, and just enjoying time together inside this cozy and private cabin. There is lots to do at the cabin and also in the surrounding areas. For us, this was the authentic Maine experience. Highly recommend.

One of the best views you could ask for, and a very comfortable cabin with everything needed to have an enjoyable time in a beautiful location.
