We have recently updated this cottage ---- with a new kitchen with a proper hob and oven, and also replaced all the windows and even the front door ! The Forge cottage is set on our working sheep farm, on the Durham Northumberland border. Ideal for couples, or people traveling on their own, the cottage is a great location for local attractions such as Beamish Museum, Durham, Newcastle, Kilhope lead mining museum etc., but it's also great for those looking for peace and quiet and country walks !!

Beamish museum is located less than a 5 minute drive away. The South Causey is also located less than a 5 minute drive away. Durham city centre is a 15 minute drive away. Newcastle city centre is a 15 minute drive away. The Hilltop pub & restaurant is 1 minute walk from the property. The C2C cycle route is around a 5 minute cycle away. This little oasis of green is in a super handy location on the edge of the greenbelt, yet near the Team Valley, Metrocentre and Newcastle. There's a bus stop directly outside, with buses into central Newcastle every 30min in the day. Watergate Forest Park is right next door, with a fantastic cafe, lake, swans & lots of other wildlife. We're only a couple of miles from the C2C cycle route, with easy access to lots of other cycle routes & walks.

The Annexe

The Annexe on High Woodside Farm is an ideal location for couples or families who want to visit the North East of England It is a 15 minute drive to Durham and a 30 minute drive to Newcastle and Sunderland a 40 minute drive. The Annexe has an open plan kitchen, diner and lounge on the ground floor with a bathroom, consisting of toilet, sink and shower and 2 bedrooms on the first floor. It is very light and modern and has a small courtyard.

Ralph Lodge is a 4 bedroom (sleeps up to 8 people) barn conversion walking distance from Beamish Museum. It is a beautifully furnished barn set in the open countryside. We are in between Durham & Newcastle, both only 20 minutes away. We are close to the A1M, perfectly located for a North East Visit. Included are, Nescafé Dolce Gusto coffee machine, Wifi, bed linen, towels, hairdryer heating/water and welcome pack. EV charger available
