Amazing stay at Gatehouse Barn. It is a really lovely, homely, welcoming place to stay. Plenty of sleeping options downstairs and up and a cosy living space. Also loads of seating areas outside which were perfect to enjoy the sun. The area is really quiet and peaceful and the location of the barn is extra secluded and private. As a final bonus, the attached spa area was a real treat after long walks (loads of which can start literally from the front door).

What a wonderful place for a peaceful break away. The house was so comfortable with all the amenities needed. The hot tub was a lovely addition too! My son, who loves wildlife photography, absolutely adored the river. He spent every possible moment down there photographing Kingfishers! I would definitely recommend to anyone who loves birds and wildlife.

Beautiful home, very spacious and plenty of amenities. felt right at home! perfect for toddlers too. Ian was great, very helpful and easily contactable.

We arrived on the Friday for a 3 night stay. The Barn is in a beautiful place inside and out. The Hot Tub was lovely on an evening and the patio fire was great to sit around for drinks early evening watching the Sun go down. Casterton village is only a couple of miles from Kirkby Lonsdale. The village its self had a gorgeous pub 7 mins walk from the Barn which had a great range of food and served Sourdough pizza on Sunday evening after 1700hrs with a lovely warm atmosphere and open fires. There is a great taxi service and some fabulous restaurants near to the Barn. The Black Bull and the Highwayman were fabulous. (We did go to Number 9 also and it was not somewhere I could recommend, service and food really poor.) Patrick and Anika were great responsive hosts and this is a do not miss property, that offers every you need for a fabulous stay. Our little group loved it. Thank you Karen, Denise and Naomi

We have just returned from a few nights away staying at this little piece of paradise. If you’re after a tranquil, relaxing holiday then this is the place to stay. From the house itself, to the spectacular views , the amazing pool house and the lovely, friendly neighbours, this place ticks all the boxes and more. Highly recommend visiting The Queens Arms for a meal (or just a cheeky drink), the staff are so friendly and just made our time away extra special. Malham is only a 20 min (ish) drive away and is stunning (a must see). The only thing I would advise is to make sure you take plenty of supplies (or do an online shop for delivery as we did) as the local shop is a 20min drive away. Thankyou again David, we will definitely be back.

Kathryn’s stay was lovely! Perfect location if you’re looking at heading to Keswick and climbing Scafell pike only 40mins drive to Seathwaite route. Beautiful home and lovely Hotub! Hosts very responsive to our messages.

Hermitage cottage was in a beautiful situation right on the river Lune. The cottage was clean and tidy. We enjoyed the hot tub, the barbecue and the outdoor seating. We were extremely fortunate with the weather and really enjoyed our stay. Walks around the estate were lovely. It is a lovely base to explore the Forest of Bowland and surrounding areas.

Great cottage, had everything we need and the location was great for what we were doing. Hot tub was an added bonus for the trip.

Welcoming hosts, very hospitable, home made scones on arrival! Lots of helpful tips about places to eat and visit in the locality. Great location in between the lakes and the dales. Place was homely and comfortable. Highly recommended!

We had a great stay at Hilltop, it's a lovely cottage. I was able to have breakfast outside every day of my stay which was a real luxury for me. We did some great hikes too venturing to the Borrowdale valley with its stunning views and even went down to the beach one day. Good communication with Natasha as well, would definitely reccomend.

We had an amazing 2-night stay at Jane’s place. The house is absolutely beautiful and set in breathtaking surroundings—the photos really don’t do it justice, as the real thing is far more exquisite. The decor is warm and homely, yet spacious enough to comfortably fit the five of us. Both bathrooms were spotless—one with a shower and the other with a bathtub, which gave us the flexibility to choose. The kitchen was fully equipped with everything we needed, including ample fridge space. The garden is also worth mentioning—gorgeous and clearly very well cared for. We especially loved the fireplace; it truly felt like the cherry on top of an already perfect stay. The house manual was detailed and extremely helpful, covering everything we needed to know. Jane was a wonderful host—so warm and thoughtful. She welcomed us with a lovely letter and some delicious biscuits, which made us feel right at home from the start. Highly recommended!

We really enjoyed our stay at Emma and Gary's cottage, it is lovely and spacious, the garden was a bonus, and the area is beautiful and peaceful. Emma has thought of things you may need to make your stay enjoyable, the kitchen is well equipped and the beds are very comfortable. We would highly recommend a stay at Emma and Gary's cottage, a great base to enjoy this part of the Lake District.

Alison is a delightful lady. So kind and helpful. Her cottage ( we stayed in Jemima Puddleduck) was very comfortable. Beds and pullows especially and all spotlessly clean. All we needed was provided Alison had thought of everything. We had a fantastic week. Thank you.

We had a fantastic stay at Knott's View; the cottage was lovely, the garden a sun trap, and the surroundings were beautiful. We enjoyed lots of walks straight from the door - so many loops, including Gowbarrow Fell with amazing views of Ullswater and then back through Aira Force waterfalls late one sunny evening. The pub opposite is good for a pint and pub food, and we visited Keswick (great tapas restaurant) and Pooley Bridge too, as well as Grenridding - all 10 to 20 min drive. Chris and Ruth were really helpful throughout.

The cottage was stunning and in a beautiful setting, ideally located for getting to and around the lake. Highly recommend for a family get away for beautiful scenery and tranquility.

Kylie’s home was lovely and we had a great time. Check in was very simple; the house was clean and location was great for our Windermere staycation especially since we didn’t have a car. Kylie was also very responsive and helpful whenever we had questions. Would definitely recommend Kylie’s place to anyone visiting Windermere.

John was very proactive in sending messages and helping with questions. It was easy to walk to nearby restaurants and pubs. Nice spacious rooms!

As a family of 4, Peter & Claire's townhome worked well for us. The place is charming. There are two full bathrooms, both upstairs and convenient to the bedrooms. We enjoyed coffee on the patio and cooked dinner at home one evening. The kitchen was well stocked and accommodated everything we needed. The area is very walkable. They were extremely responsive and friendly with all communications. I would certainly stay again.

A fabulous place to stay. Excellent communication from the host Denise, and lovely homely touches. We have had a great weekend exploring the local area including a boat trip on Windermere and the world of Beatrix Potter. The location of the cottage is perfect and peaceful and the views are amazing. We enjoyed the terrace when we arrived for a late picnic tea! As a family of 4, with a 3 and 5 year old, the property was perfect very spacious and 2 separate bedrooms. The kitchen is super well equipped, and the little things like having a hairdryer make a difference. I would thoroughly recommend the cottage and Denise has been a warm and welcoming host! Had a fantastic stay at Silver Cottage! Staveley is a great spot to stay whilst exploring the Lake District - it has good local cafes and food options as well as dog walks. The cottage was perfect, as described kitchen is on the smaller side but had everything we needed for 5 days. Margaret is a lovely host and who’s highly responsive and helpful. Thank you for a lovely stay!

Lovely house in a beautiful location. Troutbeck is a lovely village with 3 great pubs and cafe which also sells essentials. There are plenty of walks from the village with the rest of the Lake District at your doorstep. We had a great time

Amazing place! Very well situated, easy to get anywhere in the Lakes really. Staveley has everything you’ll need from shops to a great chippy and an amazing bakery only 2 min walk from the house. Very well kitted out, also really nice touch was that they had kids cups and bowels as we had 2 kids with us. Host was great to deal with, super helpful with parking queries and went out of their way to help me. Very highly recommend

We had a lovely time at Bumble Choo. It was a beautiful cosy cottage, fantastic location for Windermere town & Bowness and central to explore the rest of the lakes. Comfy beds too! Parking space was really handy. Some lovely restaurants in Windermere within walking distance. Our favourites were Home Ground coffee for breakfast and San Pietro for meal. Incredible food in both! Matthew was a brilliant host, really helpful and responsive to any queries.

The barn ist very beautiful furnished and full of great ideas how to relax including everything you need for that. Everything is prepared to feel welcomed and gorgeous. We had a great time even sitting outside and Jenny and Chris were very helpful! We hope to come back and can highly recommend the cosy barn.
