Welcome to this carefully renovated house from the 1890s with a modern kitchen and toilet/shower. On the property, there is also a converted barn with a kitchen, hot and cold summer water and an air heat pump. There is a shower outside as well as a composting toilet in a separate building. There are 5 beds in each building. The houses are relatively private with a large plot and several patios. It is about 250 meters to the jetty and swimming area where there is also a wood-fired sauna that is included in the rent. The accommodation is suitable for both families and groups of friends.

Bathroom with shower and washing machine. One bedroom with two beds plus an extra bed. Living room with sofa bed for two. Terrace with outdoor furniture. Cleaning is not included.

The accommodation is perfect both for a golf weekend with friends, a couples weekend with a cultural theme or a summer week with the family. The accommodation is about 800 meters from the water. The surroundings are lush and green and the plot is large and child-friendly with a generous terrace.

Two-person kayak and SUP board are available to borrow for those who want to explore the lake from the water. The cottage is about 30 minutes from Mariehamn.

Stay in the middle of Åland at Färjsundet near Åland Golf Club and Kastelholm Castle. The house has a newly-renovated shower/bath and sauna, toilet and kitchen. In addition, there is a newly-built terrace with dining table and barbecue. The house is located by the water and you share a bathing jetty with the hosts. It takes about 15 minutes to drive to Mariehamn and about 5 minutes to Godby where there is a grocery store.

Mattas in Finby

At our farmhouse Mattas in Finby, Sund, we can offer a rural and cozy accommodation with 4 beds (two single beds and a sofa bed). It is an apartment on the second floor from the 50s that we have carefully renovated to keep the old-fashioned feel. On the farm there are many different animals (cows, horses, chickens and sheep) and our farm dairy (Mattas Gårdsmejeri). During July, we open a café during the day (11am-5pm).

Stugan ligger vid vattnet och man har fin sjöutsikt med västerläge. Det finns en separat terass där man kan njuta av sommardagarna. Vid stranden finns flytbrygga med badstege. Finns även roddbåt och 2st SUP-brädor som fritt får användas av gästerna. Egen vedeldad strandbastu med terass och solstolar. Ved ingår. Vistelsen inkluderar sängkläder samt handdukar. Darttavla, krocket och kubbspel finns i stugan.

Åland, Sund charming house near Kastelholm/Bomarsund

The cottage (Fridhem), which was originally a bakery, was moved from a small village to its current location in the 1950s, when it was also rebuilt into the current house. The cottage is located on highway 2, in between Kastelholm and Bomarsund, about 5 km in each direction. Bus stop is close, 25 km to Mariehamn. There are bike paths nearby, beautiful forest roads as well. See my guide for tips.
