Located on 17 acres of land along the ridgeline, you can see Mt. Mitchell in the distance and the glow of Black Mountain at night. Our home is truly unique, made of reassembled hand-hewn logs from the 1800's , custom built in 2008 with Modern Scandinavian interior design. We love the combination of the getaway into nature with the modern amenities of home.

Our private cabin in the woods is in a secluded, quiet mountain community. It shares over an acre of land with our primary residence, wild turkeys, and an occasional bear. Just 15 minutes from downtown Asheville, the famous Biltmore Estate, and craft breweries galore! The Blue Ridge Parkway is 7 minutes away, offering beautiful scenery, waterfalls, and wildlife. Lots of hiking, jogging, and biking trails. Warren Wilson College is within two miles. Perfect location any time of the year!

Welcome to The Understory. Nestled deep in the rhododendron covered woods, this romantic hand-crafted tiny home offers you a peaceful and memorable stay just 15 minutes from both Asheville and Black Mountain. The comfortable living space includes a rain shower, king sized bed in a lofted sleeping area, cozy wood stove and a full kitchen. Surrounding the cabin is a large deck with a table and chairs, a luxurious soaking bathtub, and a patio equipped with a fire pit and propane grill.
