Aya's place was spotless and had all the amenities we needed as a family of 4. Aya was also very thoughtful in the way the apartment was set up, she went above and beyond with instructions and tips on how to use different features, e.g. the washer dryer, which we really appreciated. Great location and very accessible by car, with free parking. We'd recommend this place!

The house is clean and tidy, and it feels like you are back home when you enter the house. It is especially cozy ~ The location of the house is also very convenient. There is a bus stop outside the alley, and you can walk to attractions such as Kumamoto City and shopping places.In addition, the host was very gentle, prepared delicious snacks for us, and thoughtfully wrote a note in Chinese. The local restaurant he recommended was also delicious.We have very good memories of Kumamoto.

Makiko was very kind and her home was beautiful. She was very friendly and if there was anything we needed she would reply right away. This was a 10/10 home and stay. This was a huge highlight of our trip to Japan, especially Kumamoto. If we ever come back to Kumamoto (which we more than likely will) we would definitely be coming back here. There’s no other host like Makiko who is kind, sharing and lovable. There were snacks in case we got hungry and also ice cream. She did many kind gestures and like I said, she deserves WAY MORE than 5 stars. Everything about this home was great and you could really tell Makiko cares about her guests! By far this is my favorite AirBNB I’ve ever stayed at. This was great! Thank you so much Makiko and I hope to see you again soon!

A hidden gem in the mountains of Kumamoto! Staying at this private, hand-built lodge was nothing short of magical. Every detail of the space reflects the heart and soul that went into building it — from the thoughtful layout to the generous amenities provided. The tatami-style bedding was incredibly comfortable, making for restful nights surrounded by nature’s serenity. The surroundings are quiet, peaceful, and perfect for anyone looking to unplug and recharge. We especially loved the sound system — a real treat to play our favorite music while enjoying the view. What made the stay even more special was our host, who was warm, welcoming, and always ready with helpful recommendations. This is the kind of place that stays with you long after you’ve left. Highly recommended for anyone who wants to escape the noise of the world and reconnect with themselves.
