Kid-friendly holiday rentals in Tangalle

We spent a whole month in this house and were delighted! Spacious, cozy, with a lovely chill area by the river where you can relax and enjoy nature. I especially liked the rooftop – the perfect place to do yoga. The kitchen is fully equipped, so it was convenient to cook. The beds in the bedrooms are comfortable, slept great. The beach is only a 5-7 minute walk and the surf spot in Weligama is about 25 minutes away. Overall, it was a wonderful experience and we are grateful to the hosts for their hospitality!

I enjoyed my time a little off the beaten path in the middle of the countryside! The property is like a small wonderful, green oasis and is very tastefully designed. Gianluca and the rest of the staff were very friendly and I immediately felt welcome and comfortable. Gianluca also gave me super helpful tips around Ahangama and was always easily accessible - a great host!

This villa is something wonderful. All the details are perfect, beautiful and sophisticated. The bedrooms are fantastic, the swimming pool is amazing, the garden itself is a gem. And the staff! The housekeeper Sasun with the other guys, runs the villa in à perfect way: they are available for every request, helpful and incredibly skilled! We had many meals at home and it was definitely better than at the restaurants! The position is really good. You can walk in the nature up to the main road, Matara road, where many small restaurants are, or ask the staff to call a tuk tuk. Galle fort is about 30' away! Stephen the owner, is promptly reacting and helpful. Despite the weather in June, to stay in villa Vador has been an amazing experience and I can't wait to come once again! Thanks to Stephen and the staff for having made my holiday so relaxing!

Excellent property and amazing host 😃

I spent 3 nights at Abhaya Villas and loved every minute of it. The property is well maintained, clean and as the listing describes - right opposite the sea. Rooms were clean and comfortable, the bathroom was large and clean and the common area and the kitchen was also clean and decently stocked. Shaun was super responsive and helpful throughout and made it very easy for us to communicate, despite being out of the country. Ruwan, the caretaker was also very helpful. All in all, the perfect place for a nice, quiet beach time in Sri Lanka. Definitely recommend!

Our stay here was comfortable and pleasant. The host was so kind and generous. Harshani even went out of her way to prepare breakfast and lunch for us which was delicious and homely. We felt right at home at the stay. The stay is 4mins walking distance to the beach and restaurants. The host was very responsive and the stay looks just like in the pictures -clean. Highly recommend this stay!

Where to start.. In my 10+ years on Airbnb, I have never come across a property like this. The hosts and their kids are just exquisite. They go above and beyond to make you feel at home and cater to your every need. The apartment is brand-new, super clean, and has all the amenities needed at the same time the lush jungle and green surroundings give a very tropical vibe. Working from home cannot be better, more peaceful, and private and with high-speed internet. The family loves to cook a meal for you, so you can keep on working or simply enjoy a relaxing stay. There is also the possibility to rent their scooter or tuk-tuk, make use of the laundry services and enjoy a yoga session on the rooftop deck. It's situated in the middle of the jungle, with monkeys and all kinds of lovely creatures. We love to surf, and with the beach just 5 mins scooter ride away, we felt like we had everything we could dream of. We will be back for sure!:) Thank you Nalaka and family for the wonderful stay!

Absolutely magical 3 weeks at Sudu Villa with our 5-month old son. Before check-in, Matt’s communication was excellent and was also reached out to by Charu, the Villa Manager, who both were happy to answer any questions we had. Check-in was smooth and we had the best time at Sudu Villa. Location is absolutely perfect, with easy walks to Pehebiya Beach and Hirikitiya. Charu was absolutely brilliant throughout our stay and couldn’t do enough for us, whether that’s organising surf lessons, tuktuks or airport transfers. Villa was immaculate with regular pool cleaning, we felt immediately relaxed from Day One. Will definitely be returning, a memorable few weeks.

Great Location in the Center of town, close to the Beach! Super Communication and very Nice room with a Little kitchen! I was in the 3d floor, nice view. Will come back if there!

I was searching for a place to establish a home base for my trip when Ann's property caught my attention. I was captivated by what it had to offer in the photos, so I booked it with great excitement. Ann was incredibly responsive and helped me plan my trip accurately by being flexible with my dates, ensuring I felt right at home from the very first day. When I arrived, I walked onto the balcony, which provided a serene view of the Ahangama ocean. The apartment was exactly what I wished for and more. It was very clean, tidy, and thoughtfully furnished. The apartment truly felt like a home, helping me unwind each day and wake up refreshed for the next. I would also like to extend a special thank you to Ann and her team, including Mane, for being exceptional hosts who always greeted me with a smile and provided thoughtful care. We had a fantastic stay at Vinu’s place in Hiriketiya! The family was incredibly warm and welcoming, making us feel right at home. The location was peaceful and private, perfect for unwinding. One of the highlights was driving our own tuk-tuk up and down the charming little winding roads to get there—it added to the adventure! The hosts kindly let us park our tuk-tuk safely inside their gates at night, which we really appreciated. They also helped with laundry and, in a sweet and thoughtful gesture, gave small gifts to the kids when we said goodbye. Truly wonderful people and a great place to stay in Hiriketiya. Highly recommend!

We have stayed in around 180 Airbnbs and this is stand out one of the best! THE most fully equipped property we have ever come across, with all sorts of unexpected items such as mosquito repellent coils, filtered water, cooking oils and first aid kit! Eva and her manager, Tharush were amazingly friendly and accommodating. 5 star service and facilties to match! Can't recommend this place enough.

Very nice stay with this lovely family! They are very loving and truely cared about me. They made some food and shared it. Everything what I needed was there. Would highly recommend as a homestay.

I highly recommend Sanjayas place, it is in a quiet and beautiful area with its own private entrance, walking distance to the local restaurants and beaches. The room was perfect with a great terrace, Sanjaya and his family are wonderful. I hope to be back again.

Great apartment, had all the basic necessities! The host and family were so incredibly helpful! Gave us a number for a great tuck tuck driver, warned us about the rambunctious monkeys that like to stop by, tried to keep us up to date on the power outages and more. It’s a lovely little jungle villa, with that being said, jungle = lots of bugs, there’s no way around it. Just don’t leave any open food out and that will help lessen the bug situation. Also, mirissa beach (great spot for restaurants and beach days) is a bit too far to walk, so I’d recommend getting a scooter or a bike and the host has a person for that too!! All around, would stay again if we come back to Sri Lanka! Host and family were so so so helpful and friendly!

Very worth for the price! Easy to walk to nearby beaches and cafes. Definitely hard to sleep in at all since the road gets quite loud with busses honking. The house is next to the forest/jungle so there are many small bugs like ants in the bathroom and sometimes the bedroom but it’s not so bad, just something to be aware of. The power went out a few times during our stay but apparently that’s pretty normal for this region especially if it is raining. Overall would still recommend for good location and price. Padma was able to do our laundry as well for a small fee

The place is great. bed is comfortable, kitchen well equipped and very well located. a few minutes walk to the main beach and 15 minutes to Secret Beach. Prabodi is incredibly kind and helpful, and very responsive. I would definitely stay here again.

Our stay couldn’t have been more amazing. The apartment is so beautiful and comfortable. It’s spotless clean, great kitchen facilities and ice cold AC. It’s located right in front of a little local beach where there is a lot of boats docked which is stunning for sunset. The locals around are all so friendly as well. Such quick and helpful communication from the host. Couldn’t recommend enough it’s an absolute steal for the price.

Great bunch of guys building their hotel and community spaces. Love to see it develop. The rooms were good. Very comfortable and it felt like we stayed in the forest. Would recommend.
