Family-friendly holiday rentals in The Great Lakes

Jason had a beautiful home that we were grateful to spend our Christmas holidays at. When there was an issue with electronics that we needed help with, not only did he respond rapidly but also came in person to help rectify the issue. A beautiful home and a wonderful host. :)

I stayed at Melissa's place with a group of 4 other girls for my sister's bachelorette party. Not only was the space perfect sized for our group, but the girls and I could not get over how amazing the property was. We obsessed over the view from the kitchen window, the decor and gingham curtains in the living room, and the loft bedroom. Everything was so well done and thought through and we spent a majority of our time during the weekend hanging out at the house, having dinner on the front porch, and admiring the baby pigs!! And when we did venture into Sutton's Bay or Traverse City, the ride was smooth and had beautiful scenery of up north Michigan. The kitchen and bathroom were well stocked and the linens were definitely adequate for all of us to sleep comfortably. I will definitely be booking here again!

This house was perfect for our family of 14. Everything we need was there, including items for our 15 month old. The beach area was amazing and the outdoor shower and hot tub were an added bonus.

We were looking for waterfalls and hiking. Phil's place was in the perfect location to find numerous opportunities for both. The cabin itself was well outfitted, comfortable and spacious for the four of us. Loved the hot tub, grill, and fire pit. Phil and Tracy were very responsive and great with communication both before and during our stay. It was cold for a June date and we had an issue with the furnace. Phil and Tracy were so helpful even to the point of coming to check it and getting a repairman there in short order.

Heather’s cottage was amazing! Able to accommodate a group of guests without squishing or being in anyone’s way! A couple little insects wanted to join our weekend but nothing a paper towel and a double wipe with some all purpose cleaner couldn’t beat! After all it is a cottage! Amazing large space (especially that sunroom!) with lots of amenities (the hot tub, chrome cast, indoor speakers and pool were a BIG HIT)! Great for game nights and the sunsets were beautiful. Bunker house was also clean and very comfortable for some of guests to stay in! Overall great experience and our hosts were so nice and easy to talk to. Would recommend this cottage and would definitely book again!

We had an amazing stay at the cabin! We were visiting to celebrate my best friend’s bachelorette party, and the proximity to Galena was perfect for us! Dan and Kellie were more than accommodating and made sure we had everything we needed to make our weekend perfect. The surrounding property is so beautiful and there’s so much to see and do. Sunsets from the deck were breathtaking, and we loved the walking paths around the property. It made for the perfect relaxing stay in the midst of a busy weekend. We will definitely make this our go to stay when we’re in the area!!

We have done a few different staycations through airbnb and this was by far a favourite…it was incredibly hard to leave so it’s safe to say we will be back! :) The views were stunning. Being outside surrounded by nature with mostly good weather, was so peaceful. Even stuck inside watching a rainy day through the huge windows was so cozy and beautiful. Milena & Johnny were amazing hosts who made sure we had everything we needed at all times. Can’t say enough good things about our stay in the Chalet!!

Our group had an amazing time at Cleon and Christine’s. They were extremely accommodating and the property was absolutely stunning. Being able to interact with the animals was the inflight of our trip. Would visit again and would recommend for anyone to stay.

Really loved this slice of heaven up in the Northwoods 🌲🩷 beautiful cabin with everything you need and the most serene, picturesque dock to hang on for loon calls, canoeing and fishing from. We absolutely loved our stay - recommend this little gem to anyone looking for an amazing Ely experience!

We had a great weekend. The cabin is lovely. We hiked at the nearby nature area, fished in the lake & surrounding areas, and explored downtown. We made breakfasts and dinners at the cabin and the kitchen had everything we needed. The beds were all comfortable. We enjoyed the variety of boats available.

This is the 5th year we have rented Stefano's cottage. I am hard-pressed to find anything negative to say. The cottage is spectacularly beautiful, inside and out. The architecture is decidedly modern, but clearly fits in the surroundings of trees and the lake. Inside it is very cozy with neutral colours and great for either relaxing with a book and a coffee (or a bottle of wine!), a games night or an outdoor BBQ after a swim, a paddle or a hike. It is superbly quiet and a perfect place to get away from it all, yet keep the creature comforts, grocer a short drive; walking trails nearby, lakes are everywhere and the autumn leaves are nothing short of spectacular. Stefano is very accommodating in terms of providing information or answering questions, if any. We love the place so much I am hesitating to give it such a good review for fear of lots of people discovering it - I want to keep it my own hidden gem. But Stefano deserves an excellent review. Thank you Stefano, as always.

Fantastic home! We loved everything about this place. Lots of space for our family of six. House was clean, stocked with lots of amenities. Linens, towels, board games, books, kitchen supplies.. We loved the beautiful view, deck, fire pit, dock, paddle board and kayak. Would definitely recommend and would love to come back!

Stayed here for a holiday weekend with a family of four adults. The house location is fantastic! Beautiful sweeping views of Lake Erie from many rooms in the house, and nothing beat having coffee on the deck in the morning and a drink on the deck in the evening. Having the ravine next to us added to the privacy and wonderful animal watching (birds, fox, frogs). The home was charming, cozy, and had all the amenities we needed. We spent Sunday at the many walkable wineries. Can't recommend this place enough! We're looking forward to adding it to our getaway rotation!

This property is absolutely beautiful! We had the best time playing tennis and basketball, going in the pool and sauna. The pool is cool which was so nice after getting super hot in the sauna. 10/10 recommend. The inside was beautiful and relaxing, felt like a perfect getaway and we will be back for sure! Nina was such a thoughtful and accommodating host. The place was clean, cozy, and had a really peaceful vibe. I felt well taken care of and would happily stay again!

Jody and Jana were great hosts. They recommended local help when I had car trouble and even offered their own assistance. Their condo was clean and beautifully furnished. The place really was just right for our getaway!

This is our 3rd year in a row to come for an extended Labor Day weekend and bring our kids and/or grandkids. We love the setting. The pool is perfect for the younger kids and the adults appreciate the beauty of all the surroundings, including at poolside. If we could change anything at all we would add another bedroom as we can't quite get all of our extended family here at one time. That said, we would like to return for a 4th year at Labor Day weekend time next year. The combination of beauty, privacy, amenities, condition (always in great shape!), and proximity to lovely South Haven can hardly be beat!

10 STAR!!! Amazing property! Impeccably maintained gorgeous cabin (rustic/modern and very classy) and surrounding grounds. So lovely! The hosts have thought of absolutely everything. I didn't want to leave! Now on my bucket list to return, hike Mono Cliffs then relax by the sparling clean pool. The Trails Retreat Cabin is an affordable deluxe property that you really should treat yourself to!

Jennifer’s home was absolutely amazing—beautiful, comfortable, and thoughtfully prepared in every way. It was the perfect place for our family getaway. The kids had an incredible time and are still talking about all the fun they had. We felt right at home from the moment we arrived. My family & I loved it . Everyone was content just staying at the cottage . Lol but we did check out A couple of the recommendations & they were very nice !! Great stay will definitely book again !!
