Used to open to Palo Alto residents and their guests only since 1969. First time open after half a century, on December 17th, 2020, residents from all places can finally visit the park. It is 400 acres larger than Golden Gate Park and accounts for one-tenth of all the land in Palo Alto. Wondering why the Palo Altans keep this park to themselves?

This used to be open to Palo Alto residents only. A large Nature Preserve with hiking trails of various lengths and elevations.

A really well-kept park that used to be for Palo Alto residents only and is now open to the public. Free entrance and dogs on leash ok on weekdays. $6 entrance and no dogs on weekends. We enjoy kayaking with or inflatable kayak there.

Beautiful, vast park with trails, a small lake with an island and kayaks for rent in summer. For decades, access was limited to Palo Alto residents, but activists pushed in 2020 to open to all.
