Why locals recommend it
The queues at this Sri Lankan restaurant are legendary, but the food is utterly worth it. Hoppers are Sri Lankan pancakes made from fermented rice and coconut milk (similar to dosas) and served with curries. I love the cocktails, too, especially the falooda fizz, with gin, rose petal syrup, cream, basil seeds, lemon, and lime. Turn up before it opens at 5:30 pm to avoid the crazy wait times. I’ve also heard of people going to places nearby and ordering from Hoppers there through Deliveroo. Stealth.
Tips from locals
New Sri Lankan restaurant in Soho. Authentic fare. Expect queues on weekends. Take the central line to Holborn, change to Piccadilly line to Leicester Square. Restaurant is 5 mins walk.
