I can personally attest to this one. Excellent course. Beautiful views. Great service. It is a flatter course on the water, but challenging with water hazards and marsh. Book a Tee Time ahead of time because it is busy.
Great golf experience, great lunches ( u can go for lunch ( great chicken salad sandwich) & not play golf). Sit out on veranda& watch the players .
The River Golf Club is on the banks of the Savannah River. It was built by Jim Fazio and opened in 1998. Water can come into play on 14 of the holes, either from tee or on the approach shot. There are also bunkers scattered throughout, which adds to the degree of difficulty. The River Golf Club has hosted a U.S. Open qualifier and several mini-tour events. If you have connections (but still can't get on Augusta National), don't dare pass up a chance to play Augusta Country Club (another place knee-deep in Bobby Jones history), or Champions Retreat, which features three nine-hole layouts designed by Jack Nicklaus, Arnold Palmer and Gary Player. Beautiful public golf course right next to the Savannah River and the quaint downtown of North Augusta
Set along the banks of the Savannah River, The River Golf Club has established itself as one of the best course designs in the Southeast since it's opening in 1998. The club has continued to enhance it's reputation with club improvements even after being named a top five new course nationally by Golf Digest.
