Tips from locals
A must see, this is the most photographed lighthouse in Maine. Built in 1879 on a tiny, off-shore island, or ‘nubble,’ in York, it features a Victorian keeper’s house with gingerbread trim. You can view it easily from York’s seaside Sohier Park. Have a lobster roll at Fox’s across the way, and afterwards get an ice cream down the road at Dunne’s. Just a short walk from our cottage. Enjoy the views, the gift shop, Fox’s for a lobster dinner or Dunne’s for ice cream.
