Café Amelie, 912 Royal Street in the French Quarter. Open Wed to Sun 11am-9pm. I go for dinner every time I’m in town; it’s a fabulous carriage house and courtyard space with amazing and authentic Creole cuisine. Very busy, so make a reservation if possible. Casual attire is fine; try to sit outside for the scene. www.cafeamelie.com
