Long wooden boardwalk, lots of parking, public restrooms. A bird lover's delight. A quick drive from house.

Favorite place to view birds in their natural environment. Has lots of boardwalks over the tundra, marshland to check out the migratory birds. In 2019, the local news reported and took photos of a Chinese falcated duck that has never previously been seen in this area, making national news.

For all the birders out there, this boardwalk hike has several different species of shorebird. Definitely do not miss this viewing area!

Fabulous place for birdwatching, right on the city’s doorstep. Lots of moose and an occasional bear in there, too. Potter is laced with boardwalks, so you can easily stroll. Bring binoculars if you have them.

Head south on Seward highway, nice to watch the ducks and swans in late summer. Skating in winter
