Punta corrente beach. A beautiful nature park located really near to the town center. You can go by walk with no worries from town. Beautiful views and best beaches with very clean sea.

Zlatni Rt Forest Park was created in the period from 1890 to 1910. Count Georg Huetteroth arranged the agricultural landscape into a free landscape style park, introducing many exotic conifers. Towards the end of the park development, Count Huetteroth publicly announced the project of the Cap Aureo "Sunny Coast of Istria" climate bathing center, which was to become an exclusive summer resort. Villas for the accommodation of guests were to be built in the bay of Lone, in the meadow near Škaraba, in the bay near Punta and on Montaur. The organization of the space, communications and vegetation cover follow a precisely developed plan for hotel construction, which makes it rare in the Mediterranean environment in terms of the time of creation, scope and type of construction, especially due to the shape and richness of the introduced cultures. Namely, through sailors, rare trees from Mexico, America, and Japan were brought to Punt, and especially valuable cedars planted in the shape of a Jewish star. Thanks to the landscaping, Zlatni rt has become one of the most famous forest parks in the Mediterranean, next to Dubrovnik's Lokrum and Monk's Hamburg. The project remained unfinished because Huetterrodt died too soon, in 1910. World wars and major social transformations changed the original intentions, and the Zlatni rt became a protected natural object of the forest park type, intended for rest and recreation. Zlatni rt was one of the generators of Rovinj's tourist development, but it was insufficiently maintained. The entire surface is neglected, the space is overgrown with maquis, so the recognizable elements of the landscape style of decoration have been lost. The spatial plan and the General Urban Plan of the city plan the restoration of the historical mother park forest and its extension to the south to the Cuvi area, which is also systematically arranged. The parks designed in this way proved to have the greatest potential for sunbathing and recreation on the lawns. In the past, Zlatni rt was the most visited bathing area in Rovinj. as lawns, forest edges, valuable exotics have almost disappeared due to neglect, and with them sunny surfaces, bathers are increasingly choosing other places for swimming. By the way, Zlatni rt became a forest park and a protected natural object in 1961 by decision of the Republic Institute for Nature Protection. It covers an area of 52.4 hectares, of which 12.5 ha are on beaches and 4.5 ha on meadows. It is estimated that it has 5,000 meters of coastline, and along the mainland it is bordered by an 800-meter high dry wall. it is dotted with walkways and footpaths. Promenades with a hard surface cover an area of 20,000 square meters and forest paths 5,000 square meters. Of the buildings on Punta, a guard house and a stable were built to form the park, which were later turned into a restaurant. also, next to the catering point, a pier was built for mooring boats. Zlatni rt forest park is a habitat for wild game, especially roe deer, hare and pheasant, for which special watering holes have been built.
