Caprock Canyon State Park is gorgeous. This park has trails, camping, bison, and more. One of the pictures in The Little House is of Caprock Canyon, I especially love the natural bridge trail. This park is a two hour drive from Lubbock.

Smaller park, not as busy. Can see a wild herd of buffalo, and some nice hiking trails.

This is an 1.5 hour drive but they have their own bison herd and there are fewer tourists. It’s in a town pronounced “kitty-qway” and about 10 miles away there is Hotel Turkey that has great food and live music. Who doesn’t want to visit Turkey, TX?

An amazing outdoor hike just an hour outside of Lubbock. Perfect for an early morning adventure! It is beautiful and has easy trails for everyone!

Offers numerous outdoor adventure opportunities. Lot's of historical sites. Centuries ago this was home to indians and buffalo.
