This is a great volunteer-run museum, through which you will learn a heap about early Tasmania, its wrecks and seafaring past. Especially to be seen is the after cabin of HMS Otago, author Joseph Conrad's last ship, the hull of which can be visited at Otago on the other side of the river (take the Bowen Bridge to get there).

Interesting for the maritime lover. Just near the TMAG and close to all the waterfront action.
