Why locals recommend it

I love these guys, I worked for Hog Island for 10 years in various capacities. I established and operated their oyster bar at Ferry Building. Their staff is extremely helpful in educating people, they even have a dedicated oyster educator named George Kurtz. He leads the farm tours for Hog Island, something you can schedule and book. Take your oysters to go and head over to the Millerton Trail. It’s a county park. You can park your car there, it’s not over-crowded, and you can bring your bucket of oysters and a bottle of wine, put your feet in the sand. Go midweek, if you can.

This place put Marin aquaculture on the map. The original location is a great outdoors scene. Reservations recommended. And you definitely need to get the oysters.

Renowned purveyors of the bay's most popular oysters, the outdoor Boat Bar let's you get em straight from the source. Raw or baked, with other local bites and libations at hand.

Make sure to get here early - this BYOB picnic spot is first come first serve. Opt to shuck your own or order them prepped by the best guys around if you don't want to deal with the mess (or the injury potential).
