Monthly Rentals in Thirsk

My husband and I had a wonderful stay at Otter Cottage in South Kilvington. The cottage is full of charm and character, beautifully maintained, and had everything we needed for a cozy, comfortable stay. It truly felt like a home away from home. One of the highlights was spending time with the animals—Jafa and Jet, the two cats, were incredibly loving and affectionate. The dogs were playful and full of personality, and the alpacas were so cute and fun to watch. It made the whole experience feel warm and welcoming. We really enjoyed walking to Thirsk along the public footpath, passing through peaceful fields filled with horses and cows. The location was perfect—quiet and scenic, yet close to town and the beautiful Yorkshire countryside. The hosts were kind and thoughtful, and every little detail in the cottage was taken care of with care. We would love to come back and highly recommend Otter Cottage to anyone looking for a relaxing getaway in North Yorkshire.

Great stay — everything met our expectations! The place was clean, comfortable, and exactly as described. It’s in a great location, making it easy to get around and explore the area. Communication with the host was smooth and straightforward. We had everything we needed for a relaxing stay — would happily book again! Parking very close in Long Stay was £5.80 which we thought represented good value. Be warned: Although overnight (18:00-08:00) and Sunday parking is free in/around Market Place, the powers that be move around temporary disabled parking spaces i.e. the parking space ground is not painted/marked in the normal way but there can be temporary signs nearby for just a particular date. We were caught out by not looking around carefully enough so had a £35 penalty :>(

We have just returned home after spending 2 nights at the annex over the Twixmas period. What a fabulous property this is. It was so warm and cosy. We truly appreciated the addition of the Xmas decorations, along with the wonderful welcome hamper provided. We met Sheila on our final day and so pleased to meet in person. Lovely lady and truly a super host. We would highly recommend this property for all your holiday needs. A true home from home in a great location, close to all the amenities in Bedale. Absolutely perfect would be a fair description of this property. Beautiful surroundings and Jane, the host, has thought of everything you could possibly need. Very clean and comfortable beds. This property has the most enormous living room so lots of space to enjoy. There is lovely pond with water lilies- charming. On walking around the property when we arrived my partner remarked “I’d buy this place-it’s lovely”!!!
