KAIWA NO SATO This old house is an indigo mansion built in the first year of the Bunsei era (1804) during the heyday of indigo. The main house and the sleeping area (a barn where indigo was stored) have been demolished due to aging, but the historic living room and garden have been preserved to allow guests to experience a little bit of that time, and it is used as a farmhouse inn. In the old days, "Indigofera" grew on the fertile land of the Yoshino River basin in Tokushima Prefecture, bringing great wealth to Tokushima Prefecture (Awa Province). Ancient documents on indigo, including cultural properties, are also available for viewing. This is a private rental accommodation. The accommodation is on the 2nd to 4th floors. There is a bath and toilet on each floor. The rooftop terrace is also open. The 2nd floor has a kettle bath and can accommodate up to 6 people. The 3rd floor has a kitchen and can accommodate up to 3 people with a cypress bath. The 4th floor has an electric mahjong table and can accommodate up to 4 people. ※ Pets are only allowed in room 202 and the hallway. Please never let them enter the bedroom. Clean and spacious room The facility is located in a quiet and calm residential area, just a 2-minute walk from downtown. It is about 1,200 m (about 15 minutes on foot) from Tokushima Station, and access is also good. We installed high-speed wifi in May 2023 to provide a comfortable internet environment. Facilities and amenities The kitchen is fully equipped with cookware and basic condiments. We also provide shampoo, washing machine, detergent, and bath towels. For environmental reasons, we do not provide disposable toothbrushes and razors. Please bring what you need. There is no TV in this facility. If you absolutely need a TV during your stay, please refrain from booking. Parking Information If you come by car, please use the nearby day park (coin parking lot). The old house has been fully renovated both inside and out and has been reborn as a simple design house. It's the same as a new building, so I think you can have a very clean and comfortable stay. The maximum occupancy is 6, so it is ideal for a family or group trip with friends. Parking is also available for 1 car free of charge, so please use this as a base to enjoy sightseeing in Tokushima. The location is also within walking distance of the downtown area, so you can enjoy Tokushima gourmet. There is also a dryer, so I think it is suitable for long-term stays. The bedrooms are also divided into 3 rooms, so privacy is protected when you sleep, and when you want to gather, there is a table for 6 people in the living room, so I hope you can enjoy eating, drinking, and traveling together.
