Holiday houses in Trekenner

Perfect holiday home for me and my husband Peter and our dog Lily . We had a lovely week in Sue’s cottage. Very well appointed, everything needed for a self catering holiday. Super kitchen, very comfortable bed, good water pressure for the shower. Sofa was big enough for two to relax in comfort. Excellent decor. Beautiful gardens. House plants and a vase of flowers made it very homely. Delicious home made bread and marmalade and butter was a lovely treat. Beautiful views and quiet and peaceful location. Lovely walks from the property or a short drive away. Plenty of farm shops and nice pubs nearby. We didn’t want to leave and would definitely book another stay in the future. Thanks Sue

We had a wonderful stay in the beautiful barn for my husband birthday. Georgina was very welcoming and very responsive with messages and extremely helpful enabling me to plan his birthday trip. Georgina provided clear instructions of how to find the barn and met us on arrival. It was a very relaxing and peaceful stay, which is just what we were looking for. We especially enjoyed being able to sit out on the balcony watching the sheep in the field. The barn was immaculate and had everything you needed. I especially enjoyed having a nice relaxing bath listening to some music on the mirror speaker. We would recommend anyone to stay in the beautiful barn, you definitely wouldn’t be disappointed.

We had the most incredible stay at this property. The views alone were some of the best we’ve ever experienced, with the deck overlooking the sea. The beach is a short walk down the cliff side from the property (the walk back up is a workout to say the least, especially on a boiling hot day!) and a stroll across the sand couldn’t have been more peaceful. Christian was a great host and was quick to respond to any questions. This is the perfect place to switch off, with bedrooms with great views and a spacious living room and kitchen. The only thing we’d suggest is possibly bringing your own essentials, such as milk, butter and cooking bits as local shops are about a 15 minute drive. Overall we can’t recommend this place enough, we really needed to reset after a hectic few months and we finally managed to here for which we are so grateful.

What an absolute treasure. I booked for a week on short notice (the evening of) and couldn't have been happier with the experience. What a gem. There is a lot to do nearby, well facilitated by Trevor's local knowledge and guidance. Walking through the wild horses on the Moors at dusk was a highlight. I took full advantage of Tallat Barn - coffees on the hill in the morning, fresh veg from the gardens, a Pilates class with Sarah, hikes down the forest trail, fresh meals in the kitchen, wild dipping in the on-site stream. I never locked up and left all the doors and windows open during my stay - the place has that kind of vibe. I really welcome the chance to return and continue exploring the area. No idea if the TV works, though, I never bothered to try turning it on.

The accommodation is beautiful , decor is very nice. Beds were so comfortable and it was good to have lightweight bedding as it was warm. Everything provided .. looroll shampoo soap etc. a nice touch. Kitchen well equipped and our host was kind enough to provide extras as we had family come for a meal. Thank you, we had a lovely stay. Would highly recommend

My partner and I had a fantastic stay. The area is very peaceful and quiet which was perfect for switching off for a few days. Olivia and Daniel were really friendly and helpful. Their dog blue who roams about the gardens was an added bonus! Such a lovely temperament. The surrounding area is stunning. Couldn’t recommend this listing enough!

Me and my partner have just got back after spending 4 nights at the little barn. Everything was as described. The photos don’t do the size justice it is huge! More than enough space for 2 people. The decor is lovely and just to our tase. The shower is amazing! It was lovely to see the horses and pony right outside the kitchen and bedroom window. Also the chickens roaming freely. Everything we wanted or needed plus more was there, tea, coffee , sugar and milk for when we arrived, oh and the lovely farm fresh eggs, these were delicious! The kitchen is kitted out perfectly. The hot tub on the decking area was an added bonus, watching the sun set of an evening whilst enjoying an Aperol spritz was amazing. Also the bbq was a superb added touch. Philippa was a perfect host! There if you needed. Philippa also advised us of places to go, I can highly recommend Tavistock, a lovely town only half an hour away. There’s plenty of places to visit. We have already booked for next year!
