This land with its old-fashioned townscape and famous water is hot in summer and cold in winter. But that's why the rice, vegetables, and meat are also delicious. There are many areas where nature remains, but few areas where the old townscape remains intact. I want to preserve this townscape. To that end, I want many people to experience a nostalgic way of life and culture. As such a place, we renovated a row house left by our ancestors and opened it as the Daiji, a soy sauce shop that had closed. You are always welcome! Built in the early Showa era and long used as a tea ceremony classroom, the townhouse has been reborn as a private rental inn, "Kyomachiya Cottage karigane". Our guesthouse is in a beautiful mountain village, near to it are pristine forests with beech trees and an ancient mountain path that was used to carry sea products from Japan sea to Kyoto in old days. In front of the guesthouse runs a stream that is a source of Lake Biwa and its water is crystal clear ; in early summer nights many fireflies fly over the stream. In winter, we have a lot of snow ; sometimes it reaches 2 meters from the ground! On clear nights you can enjoy the sky full of stars.

TABITABI MITSU is a fully renovated 100-year-old Kyoto machiya near Rokuharamitsuji Temple. This private entire house offers a calm stay for one group per day. The entrance features historic stone paving once used for Kyoto’s streetcars. The flooring showcases traditional “Naguri” hand-carved textures. Enjoy a serene garden view and relax in the semi-open-air bath with a Shigaraki ceramic tub. Upstairs includes a tatami room and bedroom with refined design details.

Kura Site is limited to one group. It can accommodate from 2 to a maximum of 6 people. It has a private bath with a Shigaraki ceramic bathtub.

This guesthouse is a renovated 120-year-old traditional Japanese house located in the merchant town of Omi Hino, overlooking Mt. Watamuki in the Suzuka Mountains of Shiga Prefecture, with the concept of "nostalgic yet new." The townscape of Hino itself is somehow nostalgic and calming. "Watamukiyama Village" was born in a corner of this town in 2019. Accommodation is limited to one group at a time, and the accommodation fee starts from the rate for two people.
