Staying at Otillie’s cabin was a HUGE splurge for us, but the minimalist cabin is well thought out, nicely designed, and beautifully sited with a SPECTACULAR view up the fjord—enjoyed from the kitchen/living area, bathroom, and MBR. Fabulous! Happily, the cabin is set uphill from town and away from the hordes which descend from the visiting cruise ships. One thing to note however, is that it’s a steep walk up to the cabin—not a problem for us, but could be for someone who doesn’t walk much. We didn’t do any real cooking, but the kitchen had the basics if we had chosen to. We had a wonderful stay at Otillie’s and would love to stay again in the future.

Mari’s place was just what we needed, and we had a marvellous time! The cabin is great, and has everything you could ask for, including amazing views from both the living room and the huge terrace. The cabin is a perfect mix between traditional typical Norwegian mountain cabin (with grass roof) and a new and modern inside. It was clean, tidy, and free from clutter and just an absolutely fantastic stay! The cabin is also located really good. We came there to hike and explore the pre-Jotunheim area and I don’t think we ever had to drive the car more than 15minutes for anything. Really good grocery store and Intersport just a few minutes away, as is the ‘Fjellstue’ restaurant. Great hikes with splendid views are 10min away. Also the host was super helpful for local recommendations and any other questions we had :) All in all I warmly recommend this place, and already looking forward to my next visit!

A fantastic accommodation with a lot of comfort We had a wonderful stay in this cozy, open-plan accommodation with great views – even reindeer came by! Thanks to the barrier at the cottage field, you can enjoy a lot of privacy, and the hiking opportunities right outside the door also inspired us. The amenities are great: very well-equipped kitchen, washing machine, dryer, a bedroom that can be darkened well and a whirlpool that is already preheated on arrival – great! Small suggestions for improvement: The outdoor area around the whirlpool could be designed a little more lovingly, the reduction in firewood is also worth considering at the price - but that is complaining at a high level. We would like to especially thank Geir Erik, who was always available and helped us quickly. We felt very comfortable and would be happy to come back!

An exceptional stay at this place! The house is beautiful and very clean. We really enjoyed the various amenities, as well as arriving at the house and the living room being at a pleasant temperature for our arrival. A very cozy house, we hope to return! A big thank you.

This was likely one of the top 5% of places that I have rented over the years, and I am an avid traveller with >100 AirBnB rentals over the years. The place looks brand new, beautifully decorated, full wall windows with amazing views of the fjord and snow capped mountains. Moreover, the beds are comfortable, bedding great, although linen and towel rentals are not included - extra cost and must be arranged ahead of time. Water toys are available like SUP and boat rental from the owner. We did both, and they were amazing! Well-Stocked kitchen (although sugar and wine opener missing), large refrigerator and freezer, great dishwasher. But the views were the most wonderful and peaceful - we saw dolphins one morning! This place is a true gem, we would definitely highly recommend it to anyone! We can’t wait to come back! Caution: this home is in a remote spot, with only hiking and water sports, no restaurants nor grocery shops around (nearest store 35 min). Narrow roads to place.

The hut was great. Easy access from the E16 and had great views. I would highly recommend bringing drinking water with you. The water available at the hut had a lot of iron. You could tell by the colour of the tiles. It would be nice if the hut had an iron and hairdryer available. Some great viewpoints close by.

We had a wonderful time at Haagen's cottage. The spacious kitchen offers everything you need to cook every evening and we also regularly used the grill. The Kiwi in Ulsåk, with its wide range, offered everything we needed. There were many berries near the house and we were also able to observe some reindeer. Thanks to Haagen's valuable tip, we were even able to see the Northern Lights, which we had not expected at the time. There are many beautiful destinations nearby, such as the Bjøberg right next to the house, but also some hiking trails in the immediate vicinity that we used a lot. We also made day trips to Jostedalsbreen, Jotunheimen, Sognefjord via Aurlandsfjellet and Jotunheimen to Besseggengrat. At the end of our stay, we had very good weather again and were able to use this to swim in the nearby river. All in all, the stay couldn't have been better. Thanks Haagen!
