Located in Uji, one of the settings of the Tale of Genji, it is a house with pure floors, located in a quiet residential neighborhood. During the day, you can enjoy sightseeing spots such as Heiden-in Temple, the Genji Museum, and the Nintendo Museum, as well as experience-based events such as strawberry picking and tea picking. The accommodation was created with care to make it fun for children. There is a 100-inch screen, a loft that looks like a secret base, and hammocks, so children can enjoy themselves freely, and it is a relaxing space where you can enjoy tea time and dinner, such as matcha sweets, while watching over your children. We also have a manga, "Asaki Yumemishi", based on the Tale of Genji, so you can immerse yourself in the elegant world. Strollers, free cycling (4 bikes), and free parking (2 spaces) are also available, making it convenient for getting around by car. The private rental accommodation "Takasegawa Shichijo" is a fully renovated 115-year-old traditional Kyoto townhouse. The traditional Kyoto townhouse, which forms part of the beautiful scenery of Kyoto, has been redesigned as a building with high airtightness and thermal insulation, while retaining its original structure, so that you can enjoy a comfortable stay even in the humid and hot summers and harshly cold winters that are unique to Kyoto. From the Japanese-style room on the first floor, you can see the tsubo garden, which is designed to resemble a "roji" (*a garden leading to a tea room). There is also a sofa in the hallway where you can relax and enjoy the view of the tsubo garden. In the evening, you can spend a relaxing time watching the illuminated tsubo garden. There are two bedrooms on the second floor: a Japanese-style room with two single beds and a Western-style room with two single beds. If there are 5 or more guests, we ask that you use the Japanese-style room on the first floor as a bedroom by laying out futons, though this may be a bit inconvenient. The kitchen is equipped with cooking utensils and tableware for simple cooking.

This place used to be one big guesthouse, but during Covid19, I have stopped running the guesthouse and I moved in with my wife and 2 kids. Still I didn't want to give up so I left the good parts. Kumo machiya Kazahaya was all made by woods, we keep the original style. The structure of this villa is つしにかいtsushinikai. Since Edo period, this kind of design was to ensure all the civilians are not stand on 2nd floor to look while the Samurai passing by, so the 2nd floor is short than 1st floor. Another feature of this villa is むしこまどmushikomado. Normally this kind of window on 2nd floor, looks like a cage of bug.
