A great place for mountain biking with the Transpennine Trail a few miles away and lots of cycle paths/trails on your doorstep. Local real ale pubs and plenty of cafes in Marsden village a short walk (15 minutes) along the canal. Beautiful scenery, views from the cottage are amazing.

We very much enjoyed our stay at this quaint little cottage. It was very clean, well equipped and true to the photos on Airbnb. Ben was very prompt when we had a small issue and very quickly sorted the issue. Lots of lovely walks nearby and easy access to the Peak District. We found a lovely restaurant a 15 minute walk away called Finlay’s - cannot recommend enough. Convenience store literally 2 mins away and Holmfirth a short drive or within walking distance.

High Barn cottage was such a great place - the house was spotlessly clean, Vicky was a great host, contacting us before and during to make sure all was well. We have 3 teenage children who loved the house and as it is so large each had their own room with plenty of space. The house is situated a short walk from the village which is beautiful. It is situated in a quiet, beautiful area from where the national park and other places can be accessed. There are plenty of restaurants and cafes around as well as a larger store for food shopping. If we visit the area again, we would definitely stay at High Barn again.

We had a lovely week, very lucky with the weather. The house was lovely. Clean and tidy with everything provided. We had welcoming Prosecco and coffee for the machine. The owner checked we knew the area, we knew he was available but he let us get on with our week privately. We are from the area so was a great base to catch up with friends and family. Excellent media provision, including Netflix and WiFi. Private parking right outside the house was brilliant. A lovely comfortable warm house. Would love to stay again if it remains available. Thank you

My friend and I had 3 lovely days at Chew Cottage. It’s in a beautiful area, with local pubs and fabulous walking. The house is quirky and as described. Lovely little garden and house was very cosy. Jeanne was pro-active in responding to a problem with the Tv signal, arranging for the aerial to be repaired the next morning. As an Airbnb host myself, I appreciated the facilities and good communication. Lots of free on street parking nearby I .e. Just across the road.
