Holiday rentals with a fireplace in Vaal Marina

My family and I had the time of our lives. We were 16 in total and were accommodated comfortably. We got more than what we expected as the place looks so much better in person! The scenery was incredible, the sunset was spectacular. We will definitely come back again. If you’re planning to make your way here, please use a big car, the road is really bad.

What a great find! Margie was an excellent host! Very good with communication and extremely accommodating. The property is very well maintained and the house was very homely with 2 great entertainment areas, a swimming pool for the summer, and as an alternate, multiple fireplaces for a snug winter getaway accompanied with an oxtail potjie and glühwein. The kitchen was very well stocked with all the appliances / utensils you'll need, bathrooms modern with clean extra floor towers for water run off , luxury soaps and shower jells, and bedrooms were well laid out. There's a pool table, dart board and several board games to keep everyone entertained. Attention to detail included, a welcome bottle of wine, informative booklet, chocolates on the beds, packs of tissues for all the occupants, and chalk for the pool queues. There is a short drive to the marina where club access is included, with picnicking spots and watercraft launching facilities available. Highly recommended!!!

Lovely little spot on the river when you just want to get away for a bit. Cottage was safe, secure and peaceful.

Chris’s place is a great staycation idea, the house is fully equipped with latest technology, the wireless charging is a great addition, the kitchen is well equipped and everything comes jn handy, it is right on the River, great for pictures, stunning pool and spacious entertainment area

The place was exceptionally relaxing and clean. Very good for a getaway relaxing break. Mari and the lady who manages the place were very attentive and non obtrusive. The house was cleaned and prepared daily. Would definitely recommend. We had a lovely time

The Host Paul allowed us to have our very small intimate wedding there.. it was the best night of my whole life and the propert is superb😍. I would not trade that night and the overall feel for anything else. I have to add that the staff member was walking around our guests and for most park of the wedding sat in the main houses' bar on his phone watching videos (the guest toilet is right next to the bar btw).. i eventually asked him around 23h00 when our guests left to please leave our house , it was quite awkward having him sit there watching videos while we all stand around the kitchen/ bar and all talking about how the wedding and night went.

We had a great stay and the host is very friendly and easy to get in touch with. Highly recommended.

Stayed at Anchorage for 3 nights as last minute booking. Everything was fully booked at Vaal Marina for 8 people accommodation as I left it to the last minute, so naturally I though since the Anchorage was still available it would be not so nice.......how mistaken I was. Everything, but I mean everything was excellent, and I could write much about it which would make this review too long to read, but The Anchorage is a lovely getaway with lovely surroundings. Had a sit-down dinner at restaurant which was long to prepare the food......but hey, no rush we were after all relaxing, the food was excellent, and good food takes time to prepare. The real gem of The Anchorage is not the place, although very beautiful with much to do and can't be faulted. The real gem are the people running it, from the ladies at reception office, Jaco the marketing manager to the owner Howard who are at all times available and extremely friendly and helpful. People that love what they do.

Marcia was lovely to deal with and communicates well. Check in was easy and we were greeted by a lovely property manager, named Lucky. He was helpful and sported a great attitude. The property is awesome and well worth the price. Clean, beds were super comfortable and the general amenities are bountiful. Highly recommend for a large group of people. Thank you Marcia and Glen.

Had such a beautiful stay. Very peaceful. Loved playing with the dogs so much. Overall a 10/10. Love it. Definitely going to book again for a longer stay in summer.

Nelia and Steven are absolutely incredible hosts - warm and generous - we felt right at home immediately. The rooms are beautiful - the home is a historic building that offers much character and beauty. The grounds are beautiful and enchanting and the quiet serenity is just what the soul needs for rejuvenation. I will definitely return.

The home is set in an idyllic setting on the banks of river. The house is stunning and is perfect to host families and friends in large numbers and is ideal to celebrate special occasions or even just to get together from the hustle and bustle of the city life. Recommended for large groups who enjoy the finer things in life.

The Villa is exceptional and matches the pictures accurately. The check-in process was seamless, thanks to the assistance of the helpful and friendly security guard. However, it would have been beneficial if the house number had been clearly communicated beforehand. The house was meticulously clean, and the kitchen was equipped with all necessary amenities. We appreciated the complimentary Wi-Fi and Netflix, which enhanced our movie night experience. During a power outage, the generator activated smoothly, ensuring our holiday continued without interruption. Thank you, Motho. Among all the Airbnbs my family and I have visited over the years, this stay was particularly outstanding. We are definitely coming back soon :)

We loved staying at Noleens place. Noleen communicated well. She was very responsive and checked in on us during our stay. We really appreciated a late change in the number of guests for the last night of our stay. The house is great space for large groups and offers privacy, peace and quiet. The photos really dont do it justice. There arent many places in the area, but Noleen provided great recommendations for during our stay and gave advice about the roads before we arrived. The house is also equipped with everything you may need if you dont want to venture out. We really appreciated Martha, who lives on the property and is available for an additional fee to clean and service during the stay. We were a large group who cooked often, so it was really great to have assistance cleaning up the kitchen and we could focus on relaxing and taking a break!
