Cabin holiday rentals in Vila Real District

We had a very pleasant stay at João’s place. We felt comfortable right away. We especially enjoyed the peace and the surrounding nature. We’d be happy to come back!

We had an amazing week staying in this very cosy, private spacious cabin. The views are incredible! The space had everything we needed. Ana was an exceptional host and was very quick to reply to any messages I had. I would highly recommend staying here if you want some peace and quiet!

An ideal place for family vacations. Our 3 year old son was delighted with the casita and the animals, I didn't want to say goodbye to them. We'll be back for sure!

Great view and privacy!

We had an excellent stay. The shelter is very very cozy, perfect for a peaceful couple's retreat. The hosts were helpful and we always had what we needed, namely firewood, which we spent a good amount of, as the weather was quite cold. Certainly recommended!

The moment you arrive, you’re enveloped by the beauty of nature, the fresh mountain air, and the cozy, welcoming vibe of the cabin. The cabin itself is spotless, well-equipped, and designed to make you feel at home from the moment you step inside. The warm wooden interiors, crackling fireplace, and breathtaking views from every window are like something out of a dream. The outdoor spaces are equally enchanting—whether you’re sipping coffee on the porch, enjoying the serene surroundings, or stargazing at night, every moment feels special. Our hosts went above and beyond to make our stay perfect, just as they did the first time. Their attention to detail and genuine hospitality made us feel truly cared for.

The house met all our expectations. Fully equipped, clean and the space is very well used. It had a crib and high chair, to be grateful since we went with a baby, in addition to our dog for which they had dishes for their water and their food. The beds are quite comfortable. The terrace with little intimacy but the village is very quiet and barely you go to anyone. The only downside we could is the outside lighting, we would have liked a high light on the porch, it only has those in the pool and two lights that illuminate towards the ceiling. If we have a chance, we'll repeat for sure.

Beautiful place to rest, with very good amenities. Angela responded immediately to any concerns, we would choose the same place again.

When we arrived at the property we immediately felt relaxed and at peace - the view is simply incredible ! The outside terrace is big with beautiful views and plenty of seating, a BBQ, heated lamps etc. Inside is spacious - a good kitchen, a lovely record player, lots of sofas. The location is great - you are so close to so many amazing outdoor activities - we really enjoyed exploring the rivers, mountain walks and the Lagoons ! Many thanks !

This is a very comfortable, well-equipped cabin for two, with or without a couple of kids, in a spectacular location with access to a nice swimming pool. Very recommendable.

Lovely place. Wonderful pool. Responsive host. Would stay there again - really nice place. Close to many wineries and very enjoyable to relax in the pool and patio. A couple things to note - no soap or shampoo is provided so you have to buy your own. Also don’t leave any shoes or anything outside because neighborhood dogs came to the property each day (jumped over the rock wall) and on the first day they took my son’s hiking boots-we found one on the driveway and assumed the wind blew it but couldn’t find the other shoe. The second day we actually saw the dogs and then saw they had also taken his goggles which we left by the pool and destroyed those as well. So just a tip don’t leave anything outside overnight.

Amazing place with a breathtaking view of the Douro! In addition, possibility of kayaking!! This place is sublime and very soothing.

I had a great time in Casa da Julia, one of the 2 houses that João has given a whole new life, in the midst of the history of the village of Ermelo, which is so beautifully located. A must for people who like to be in nature, peace and quiet. João is a top host!
